I heard ITV were shaking out some of expensive dead wood and some of the big names are very concerned. Not before time, although 'This Morning' is ten times better without Schofield, it's time they shook up 'Lorraine' and 'Loose Women' two shows way past their sell by dates.

Report link!

No Netty you've just listed a load of things you dislike and somehow want to believe that they're all related and causal.

Brexit caused aa lot those -

Trump followed Brexit vote...
Then putin going loco in Syria/Ukraine followed Trump....
Nationalists breaking up Eu happened as next falling card..
And covid deniers etc etc followed Trump...
The world probably is as it is, largely due to brexiteers.
Its their world....

Hopefully Labour will get in and allow the world to get back together
in a liberal democratic way it was before 2016...

Touchwood...
Long way to go though.

The UK economy is in far better shape?

You really need to go and look at the numbers again. Over the last 5 years the UK economy has grown 1.7% vs the Eurozone’s 3.4%. Neither of these figures is good though when set against the US at 8.7%.

These are OECD figures.

And the IMF forecasts greater growth in the Eurozone than in the UK this year, too.

There is also a recent Financial Times mini-documentary on Brexit’s effect on the UK economy that you might find interesting. Go find it on YouTube.

netcurtains, so how do you work that out that a new Labour government will improve the housing market?

Additionally, an earlier comment of yours re Brexit is rather ill-informed - poorly implemented, I agree, but it's hardly turned out to be the catastrophe that many naysayers predicted, has it? The UK economy is actually in far better shape than that of the majority of its European counterparts.

welshbob - if you look at it in isolation it doesn’t appear to make sense.
But if you investigate what it is part of it does make sense, link below…

BigEgoADFN - Purplebricks has a lot in common with the Norwegian Blue.
And pineing for the Fjords ain't the answer.
But why can't a silly business transaction like this need an annoucement.
To me it makes ITV look stupid.
Will they be offering Rishi a few extra slots to boost viewing numbers...now that
would be clever. haha

Welshbob - if Purplebricks offered you £100 of free shares to put their logo on the back of your car - I bet you would!

Same thing with ITV. Just bigger numbers.

Thats a bit steep....
I was always taught that getting rid of debt early is a good thing to do...
So buy back is the same as paying off debt. Its a great thing to do....

Also - noticing today's 2% fall - can't believe my luck frankly - this is brave or Mr Market the day before ITVs final dividend is paid out - I can't be the only chump who intends to re-invest as soon as it lands? I'd rather do that after a 2% down day than a 2% up day...
