05/4/2024 09:00 | Everybody knows this dog is dying a slow death. It won’t be around in a few years. By all means try and short term trade it but make sure you are short. Woof | ![]() havinthelasttoast
05/4/2024 08:09 | 78p paid for 10 shares early doors | ![]() reidy66
05/4/2024 08:02 | It will be interesting to see if this turns out to be another sell at 10am and buy at 4:15pm sort of day.... | netcurtains
04/4/2024 22:09 | Tomorrow could be interesting. Last day of the tax year. Will be some sellers needing to balance capital gains or release general investments for ISA switch. Hopefully will increase the volume to allow the buy backs to increase a bit to counter any falls. Strong end to the week will be nice leading in to ex div week. | trikytree
04/4/2024 20:35 | thickyyoure almost there, just stop adding how long it will take to complete at this paltry rate , the buy back will stop as soon as the job is done...not when the money is spent...they have much better things to do with this money | ![]() stansmith1
04/4/2024 18:24 | Only £351,000 spent on buy backs today. Or about 0.1% of the total amount of the program. Would take almost 4 years at that rate. (Approx 252 trading days a year) | trikytree
04/4/2024 18:10 | Nicely surging , looks like some investors companies are buying. very small buy back but share price is going up steadily | blackhorse23
04/4/2024 17:45 | Huckers I watched the video and it was very interesting , again thank you. Just one word of warning. He talked about the lifetime allowance which actually ends this week , so is no longer relevant, (though Labour have said they’ll reverse it when they get into power). FYI | ![]() matthewr1
04/4/2024 17:15 | Afternoon = volume = buyback. | ![]() matthewr1
04/4/2024 16:27 | ITV does appear (sometimes) to be following the buyback trend.... Sell at 10am and buy at 4:15pm | netcurtains
04/4/2024 15:56 | Thanks Huckers , will take a look. | ![]() matthewr1
04/4/2024 15:35 | matthewr1. Have a watch of this video to see what I mean. It demonstrates why you should not take the 25% tax free as one lump sum. www.youtube.com/watc | ![]() huckers
04/4/2024 15:23 | I am not a pension expert but I asked my IFA a similar question recently. Taking the 25% tax free from your pension pot does not instigate a taxable event. That only occurs when you start to draw down on the balance. I would strongly advise you ask an expert. | ![]() matthewr1
04/4/2024 13:09 | Thanks Huckers. I was two weeks away from taking 25% of my SIPP tax free when Covid struck :-( Then you had the ferkin Russians waving their sabres. I've been rebuilding the value of the pot ever since. My main concerns in holding back on not taking it now are similar problems that may crop up in the future dragging the value down. More concerning for me is the thought of Starmer and Davey bringing the country to its knees and any possible changes to taxation and pensions in the future. So come on ITV, have a bit of a burst for the next week or two ;-) | ![]() tlobs2
04/4/2024 12:02 | Strong cash generation with 102% profit to cash conversion[3] and robust balance sheet? In line with ITV's dividend policy, the Board has declared a final dividend of 3.3p (2022: 3.3p), giving an ordinary dividend of 5.0p per share for the full year 2023 (2022: 5.0p)? On 1 March 2024 we announced that ITV had sold its 50% holding of BritBox International to the BBC for a total consideration of £255 million. The Board intends to return the entire net proceeds to shareholders through a £235 million share buyback, which is expected to commence today. | blackhorse23
04/4/2024 11:45 | You are a complete donkey if you think ITV will complete the buy back as stated. | ![]() stansmith1
04/4/2024 11:44 | tlobs. I am a fair way off being able to take a pension but have a closer look at the merits of taking that 25% in one hit. It will work out much more tax efficient to take the 25% over the course of a number of years to minimise any income tax on amounts you draw down from the pension pot. There's a guy on YouTube called James Shack who has a number of videos regarding pension choices and he might be worth a listen. | ![]() huckers
04/4/2024 11:37 | I'd like to see a rapid increase in the value of my ITV shares as I'm going to take 25% of my pension tax free in the near future. So it's a long term hold of ITV for me reducing on the way to 150p. If it take a year or two I'm not really bothered. The dividends will be most welcome. | ![]() tlobs2
04/4/2024 10:43 | You should certainly trade with a plan, including at what price you would exit, even if it is only to sell part of your holding. Part of that plan will factor in your own personal circumstances and risk tolerance etc. | ![]() huckers
04/4/2024 10:40 | tlobs2: A good tip for you. Don’t take tips off Netcurtains 🤣 | trikytree
04/4/2024 10:38 | tiobs2: A good tip for you. If you are in a bull run the most important thing to do is work out a good time to sell otherwise you risk losing it all...... I'm currently thinking, unless any news saying otherwise, the early autumn might be that time to sell. | netcurtains |
