MatthewR, In 2006, the Credit Rating Agency Reform Act was passed, intending to break the dominance of the big three agencies—Standard & Poor's, Moody's, and Fitch—by making it easier to qualify as a nationally recognized ratings agency. The article posted by Goldfinger was from last Thursday evening pre the holiday.

IMO the Fitch rating posted by Goldfinger is very important as you should know well if indeed you ever worked in the City as anything remotely involved with credit ratings.

I don't know if ITV will undergo a re-rating soon or if the article released by Fitch was a bullish piece to promote the share price, I missed that bit of intrigue that you derived from it.

Since 2006 Fitch have been able to rescue their reputation and today happen to be widely respected. Just about every Bank and Financial institution on the Globe pay huge fees for their services.

Goldfinger. , people can make up their own minds as to whether what you say is true or made up , or whether you think you have been correct ever since your first post saying cash bid at 186p. You know where I stand.
As for the latest kerfuffle, here’s what I know.
Ratings agencies DO NOT MOVE SHARE PRICES. Why?
Because in the financial crisis they happily shoved a AAA ratings on anything (for fees) so were absolutely culpable in the CDO mess that resulted in the full blown financial crisis. Their credibility has never recovered.
But more relevantly , what you posted was (as I said) , nothing more than an explanation of why ITVX was launched (18 months ago). You said this was path breaking and would be perceived as a game changer. It’s nothing of the sort , just an explanation from an agency that the city ignores. (The only thing the city cares about from the ratings agencies is when they change ratings on sovereign debt , not stocks).
I continues to correct you , as I have done for 2 years , as you always come out with a definitive “this is happening , this is important,” when 95% of the time it’s anything but.

That ITVx Passenger goes absolutely nutty at the end of the 6th episode.
Total Sci Fi then it ends suddenly.....

Is there a 7th episode?

"I hope he doesn't listen to the haters" - oh, but he does, Kelso29 because soon after a negative comment about them GF16 deleted both his posts, presumably in a huff.

keyno...No I was not in a huff, more sick of being ridiculed. As soon as I was able to I posted the Fitch rating upgrade because it was poignant to what is happening at the moment. I suppose because of the shelving of a genuine takeover two years ago I am personna non grata here to those who think the bid was a figment of my ego and imagination..

There are several on here who are savvy investors and keep up with what I post, but many pour scorn as happened with the Fitch report and previous posts that proved to be based on information that was fact. Sure I removed the posts and yes it was because of another attack from MatthewR.

keyno, aside from a huge event in any market being delayed by events, things happened but all of my posts to date have been proved correct. I have been telling you all this on here and the other thread to stay long and buy, that isn't going to change what is on the cards. As nobody here has a clue who I am, where anybody get's it's about my ego is an even bigger mistake than most of you make caling me a liar!

Stay long, BUY and remember you are still buying pounds for 73p and that's smart!

Re: rating from fitch
You will note it’s not possible for a company to have a higher rating than the government of its base company.
So you have to view a rating with that in mind

In the novel ‘kill the coder with the lowest score’ I do explain that I worked at Fitch for three years

So, if you want to read his next lot of droppings on this thread you'd better be quick off the mark!

PS I said he'd be back on this thread after his most recent flounce out. He simply can't keep his "tips" to himself.

MS need to up their game a bit if they want to crack on with this share buy back. They have under performed so far IMHO.

If they get their fingers out, this could be 75p-80p by the weekend.

Yes, great article link by goldfinger. I hope he doesn't listen to the haters and he does carry on posting great links.
Unfortunately some posters on here haven't a Scooby Doo:
We have Matthew posting that research pieces by rating agencies are not "remotely price sensitive". The whole point of rating agencies is to influence price!
Then we have DirtySteve posting that the article was "irrelevant and old". The article was published 28/3/24 at 11.45ET ie 45 minutes before market closed for the Easter weekend. As for irrelevance, the rating article was the first time since 2014 that ITV have engaged with rating agencies. This further highlights how the BOD are being proactive in promoting ITV to the city and hence driving up the share price

BigEgo over on the LSE board posts some great stuff as well. Looks like Hades/BOIX has given up.
Cheers
