I'm happy to drop to Eb Krakow but our lead guitarist wouldn't entertain it (Man U supporter) also it would help with my aged vocal chords as well.....

The legendary Slim from the legendary Hamsters with his legendary Burnin' Vermin guitar was known to drop it a legendary semitone:

I don't even like or use wound Gs on my acoustic. This often means putting electric strings on the acoustic although I did find an Ernie Ball light acoustic set with an unwound G. To make it easier to bend have you ever tuned it down a semitone?

Ah, the wound third - memories of way back when with my first "proper" guitar, a cherry verithin with flat wound monopole 13s...wouldn't like to go back to trying big bends on that again!

In 1970 Eric Clapton switched from Gibson to Stratocaster guitars. He bought six vintage "Strats" from a guitar shop for $100 each. He gave one each to George Harrison, Pete Townshend and Steve Winwood, and took apart the remaining three to make one guitar - Blackie

lol!

I dunno bigbig dave , think the George Harrison Gibson SG would be my first choice

but then I'm a Gibson fan ...nothing against Fenders of course , just like the roughness of a Gibson.

Just purchased a s/h G&L s500 (strat) in blueburst with a r/wood board. Very nicely put together and the neck is heavenly with the satin finish plus the body & paintwork is in mint cond.
