Ryan Adams - Wasted Years (Iron Maiden cover)

Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, who died on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer, was an inspiring speaker.

In 2005 he made speech to Stanford University in which he said his mortality was what helped him to make the big choices in his life.

Feds demand 25 more bundles of Indian wood from Gibson Guitars

Tuesday, October 04, 2011 by: Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

The federal government simply will not leave Gibson Guitars alone. According to a recent report in the Nashville Business Journal, federal authorities have now demanded that Gibson hand over 25 more bundles of legally-obtained Indian wood on top of the several others it already confiscated during a massive raid back in August

Totally changing the topic , I was very surpised to hear that Laura Branigan had died 5 years ago or so . The lady was only in her 40's and had a blood clot within her brain that sadly caused her passing. One of those lady singers with a four octave range .

Had a huge, huge hit with a song named "Gloria" in the 80's ...huge selling song that sold millions of copies.

Found it on You Tube & now I can't get the tune out of my head ...lovely looking girl to add icing to the cake.

merlin, i assumed the soloist was the lead. oops. hilarious at the break at 6.10 ish. still a good performance, well recorded.

the old cambridge a1 amp has broken, so i've dragged out the older nad 3020.
what a great sound it has. i got this when i was 18, so it's 31 years old!

yep comical at times, but it does emphasize how often the string section look to the conductor, the soloist and the lead violin (who is the guy seated front left as you look at the clip) and the guy's eyes flit between these 3 (plus the score lol)

Vivalidi - Summer from 'The Four Seasons'

as classical performances go, this is quite comical! check out the expressions on the guys behind the lead violin.

great arrangement of a post punk classic. i love the interaction of the keyboard, guitar, drums and bass. on the re-issue of the album kilimanjaro, this crashes beautifully into 'reward'.

John McLaughlin

never worked out if this is all played with his fingers rather than a pleccy....

his cover of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat, which is a beautiful song to start with anyhow, but this to me comes a bit more poignant somehow....

get me, eh? all romantic

PS

For the second chord in the intro I've been playing a Cmaj7 (using an Amaj7 shape barred at the 3rd fret) with the C bass (5th string) moved up one fret to C#.

C#m7 flat 5

hi merlin, yes you posted the song here recently, so i thought i'd find the tab for it. much simpler to play than at first glance. i was away over the last week or so and the chorus kept playing in my head.

I'm not sure if this is 100% correct but it sounds OK

I'm going to be horribly flash ....
I recently learned that the bloke who helps set up my guitar is the nephew of Sid Barrett of Floyd Fame.
His Mum is Barrett's sister (obviously)
Really nice bloke ...terribly modest
