10/5/2011 16:22 | XenaWarriorPrincess, Okay, hands up, I completely missed/forgot about that. Foolish thing to do but after nearly two and a half years in suspension and next to no information from the company during that time one tends to stop looking/expecting and can therefore miss something, I suppose. My excuse but have to admit to going bright red with embarrassment when I read your post. I am still certain though that this is a busted flush. I've lost a fair whack but hope to claw something back if I can offset the loss. Good luck. | tommo41
09/5/2011 18:31 | Tommo41 - are you thick or something? The only reason I ask (not that I really want to know) is you've gone to all the trouble of writing to your tax office, "given them as much info as I can", e-mailing RB (lol), you've done a nice post - and yet you can't be bothered to look back a few posts to see that the accounts were filed in January, and that there are accumulated losses of £18M worth £5M - or 0.5p per share! Paulie18, Spartan666, Ranald, Bradley13, osammyboy2 (all those numbers!) noticed that so I'm surprised Tommo41 didn't. Or is he just being silly? Reminds me of "Raising Cain". Anyway, someone on these boards is posting about Tomco Energy all over the place (not Tommo Energy) which is threatening to relist on Aim at the end of this month after being booted off in August 2009. Irvine said on 6th January 2011 (in the "Outlook" section signed "Robert Bensh" - honest - it was definitely signed by him!) that it was restructuring itself as an investment shell to evaluate new investment and acquisition opportunities. I'm not sure I can stand the suspense. Companies House shows Irvine's next accounts are due by 30th June 2011. And as of today Rob Bensh still hasn't resigned as Chairman or as a Director of Irvine. In a recent e-mail to me, Rob Bensh said he has "walked away" from Irvine, Cardinal, Taurex, Northcote and he resigned from New Frontier in January 2011. I wonder if Rob Bensh used the same terminology to other shareholders such as Larry Schafran and J.P Bryan? And, I hope his fellow directors at Glen Rose Petroleum have better luck than we did. All IMHO, DYOR etc. Xena | xenawarriorprincess
12/4/2011 09:35 | They just aren't interested in it anymore, that's why they haven't bothered to update the website, shareholders...anyon Basically they would rather just brush IVE under the carpet so as not to blot their credentials and chances of being a director and/or on the board in other ventures. This was a lost cause as soon as they delisted, we all lived in false hope that it may be resurrected, but we all knew in reality that it most probably wouldn't. I see RB's resignation as the final nail in the coffin. Goodnight Vienna. | fo77y
12/4/2011 09:34 | Just because RB has resigned doesn't mean it's over but it is for me. I'm applying to HMRC for a certificate of negligible value and registering my loss for next year's cgt. | osammyboy2
10/4/2011 19:45 | Problem is Xena there are lots of shell companies out there, no shortage of them and probably we are in the position we are with people like RB walking out having not succeeded to suck someone into the company (sorry for my terminology) | medved5
10/4/2011 09:57 | Irvine has £5M of tax losses, therefore it can make in excess of £20M profit before it needs to pay tax. This asset is valuable to someone. Tempus highlighted in the Times last week the example of Ithaca Energy, which has bought assets in the North Sea made uneconomic by the new tax regime. Ithaca Energy can make money out of these assets due to its accumulated losses; Tempus calls it "A short term anomaly but expect to see more examples". There is no reason Irvine can't do the same, albeit on a smaller scale. All IMHO, DYOR etc. Xena | xenawarriorprincess
10/4/2011 08:45 | Ross Warner is your next target - perhaps he needs some encouragement to carry on and find a deal | medved5
09/4/2011 14:00 | Fortunately, my loss at the hands at IVE hasn't killed me off completely [ though there were some dark, dark days! ] - but feel for those that haven't been able to recover. I know some had enormous amounts invested... All the best folks... | izzymiyaghi
08/4/2011 09:16 | ScumBagger16 Do you mind if I copy your post to the iii bb | osammyboy2
08/4/2011 08:18 | Well I think most of us have realised for a long time we were not going to get anything out of this one that is pretty obvious. However what is not clear why they have not just wound it up and tied everything off. | yorgi
07/4/2011 13:47 | Yes Robin good email. But if you haven't senr it yet you should change "weather" to "whether". Do you think it safe to hold our breath for a reply? | osammyboy2
07/4/2011 13:30 | Robin you have spelt "Weather" wrong haha...Sorry but yes agree its a well constructed mail and too the point..GL all...When will this damm saga end FFS.. | bearhug2
07/4/2011 13:25 | That's a well-structured e-mail, imo, and sums up the feelings of the majority on here, I would think. Wonder if he'll get a reply; he certainly deserves one. | tommo41
