For all the bad news an adjusted 1.4m loss. It shows if they get the new orders in a profit won't be far off. Plus currency issue negated in H2 if pound falls. still a 2024 project. 45p was too high for where we are at.

Results are as expected as dull as dishwater. So the next 6 months share price direction is down to what they have to say in Nov 9th. Better be some meat on the bones for once.

As expected pretty uninspiring and we need to wait til Nov 9th to hear of future prospects. Clearly this “volume” of new orders hasn’t happened yet or the market would have to be told. It’s a long old road here still…

Will be interesting how the market reacts, steady down day like the past month or something less or more positive?

They have adjusted loss of 1.4m. so the 8.25m loss after tax likely includes one offs.

Exactly as forecast and expected
Appears they are confident that we are as ‘shielded̵7; from geopolitical debacles as any company could be which must be good news.
Capital markets day presentation in November and the associated statements that go with it will be the ‘guide’ to progress

Glad they are doing a webcast, nothing more to say till it’s viewed.

Mostly inline with expectation it seems. General admin cost 6m higher than H1 2021 with revenue growth just over 1%.These new orders better come in. 7m loss?

The strength of the dollar has a huge impact here and will notionally make them profitable this year as it's only going to get stronger. There is always some volatility with the eSP around results day, even though they have already told the market what the numbers are. It's all about how upbeat they are for 23

Guild I don’t think they have huge orders imminent more that Americo was saying that’s what IQE will need to grow revenue and make sustainable profits. I have an inkling tomorrows news will be neither good or bad. With the share price already down at low 30s there is probably only significant downside if they announce something the market dislikes.

Let's not assume the news tomorrow is bad. They wouldn't be planning huge surge in production without some idea of where these new orders will come from. They would not be advertising jobs if things were that bad. I counted 10 or so jobs in UK. Albeit 1-2% of workforce.

Been saying for years sell at the peaks. 45p never had any news to back it. Mainly shorts closing.

Remains a mystery to me why I don’t trade instead of sit and wait/hope re IQE.

If the outlook is not promising tomorrow I expect many to sell. How long do you wait for this to come good…?

Nick they are both reported as “sells”.

Long Tall Sally called the top at 45p recently, shame “we” didn’t sell as we could have added a few hundred thousand shares by now for “free”.

If IQE disappoint with guidance tomorrow welcome to the 20s once more.

Looked on iqe job page. Quite a few vacancies in UK. Is this good news or struggling to employ staff?

sweenoid - in other words - as a result of the now yearly "exceptionals" - constant currency results will actually look worse than reported earnings figures. Oh no wait, that's before energy price exceptionals bring eveything back into balance again.

They present figures on a constant currency basis,so year on year revenues can be compared and this is the most accurate reflection of ‘business̵7;but whatever they said the majority of our earnings are in $ therefore it’s been a currency tailwind for some time particularly from the start of H2.

Punters look most at the £earnings so those will look better for H2 even if they aren’t 😂😉

We already know what the H1 earnings are so tomorrow it’s all about ( for me anyhow) the tone and message for H2, an update on new or potential collaborations and partnerships and an update on the legal action against Tower Semi.

The geopolitical situation is dire, power costs are awful ( but will less effect our foundries in Taiwan and the US) and this has to be mentioned. I don’t expect a good start to the day tomorrow but you never know

I wonder what impact falling pound will have on forecast for year? Guess they will say they hedge them anyway so little impact? Should improve numbers?

1x0.9m 2x1m and 1x1.43m.
4.33m trades over the 4 trades all at 34p.

Plus a 250k and 583k trade after close. All at 34p.

Bizarrely, the more opportunities there are, the more IQE's share price seems to fall back. Probably because - to date - it has singularly failed to capitalise on any of them.

Superb article…if you like this sort of thing, well written and relevant as microleds hold great promise for IQE , whether they can monetise the opportunity is another matter as I can almost hear some of you saying😉
Anyhow make of it what you will, Porotech get a mention as do IQE ,

This is the first time I have seen mention of IQE’s porous GAN ON SAPPHIRE being mentioned

“Porotech’s first partner is IQE, an epi wafer supplier that will act as a foundry for PoroGaN GaN-on-sapphire wafers.”

Not the least because ‘headlight’ state that they would also be interested in investing in graphene and compound semiconductors!
