I liked what Anerico had to say enough to give him another 12 months. It would seem he knows where to focus IQEs efforts (which I think was missing before he came) and the company is being streamlined right now to take advantage of the coming trends. It needs the growth to make it all work in terms of delivering growing R&P but I think there could be a significant shift in the companies fortunes within 2 years. As you mention Crosswires the share price is not in my opinion over valued right now, which means it’s easier to let it run for a while longer.

If the UK Gov did back the UK to be a world leader in CS space it indeed could be significant for IQE…

Lords, listening to the webcast I agree, we could start to see some positive moves (both in revenue/profits) and in SP, within 12-24 months. I don’t think we’ll see much share price uplift before next spring, although I don’t think the share price is over valued at present so it could creep back to the 40s by Spring.

Worth noting that in a floor question at the end of the video AL says he hopes to have some funding in place in the next few months via UK gov. Maybe wishful thinking but if it did happen and that enabled IQE to start to expand then that could be a short term boost to the SP

prokartace - and I refer you to mine, suggesting a POSSIBLE return to form within the next 2 years. Though as we all know, nothing's ever guaranteed. Especially with IQE.

Lolly, I remember as I only trebled my money when I could have 10x it because of the expectations and since then I refer you to my last post

Still only 10 MOCVD machines in Cardiff, mostly unutilised. Same as 2018. Space for 100. Why would the UK be an attractive place in which to make semiconductor parts, please? No serious customer appears to agree with him (yet). Why will Americo secure volume orders, and who will pay the $1.5bn required to kit the factory out? Serious questions - very keen to hear serious answers.

prokartace - not quite true. We did get jam in 2017, with sales pretty much as they are now. The important difference being nearly £15M PAT back then. Trouble is, I suspect many shareholders (myself included) thought 2017 was the start of something big and either stayed invested - or worse, added to their holding. Still, there is a glimmer of hope now, with the replacement CEO appearing to have at least a modicum of commercial sense. Yes, you certainly need great patience to hold IQE. And you need to be prepared for umpteen setbacks. But the next couple of years could (and I repeat, only "could") see some sort of return to the heady days of 2017. Only hopefullly with higher revenues & profits this time round.

This company never ceases to amaze me. With every bad result comes an incredibly optimistic outlook. Time after time after time. Its always Jam tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. You need to have rose tinted glasses to invest in this company.

I suspect nobody with the required balls to cancel the sale. Truss or whoever it is…the only way to get the UK out of the current mess is to put UK into further stratospheric debt. However such is our current debt that we may as well prioritise UK growth as it’s the only way to get out of this mess.

I suspect the Tories will lose power next election, probably to a coalition but possibly to Labour now Corbyn is not the leader. It’s Tory or Tory lite. Who would want to be in power in the next parliament anyway?

Re results and webcast, I wouldn’t dare to say i’m well pleased with IQE or my investment BUT there may be signs of life next year (as many predicted earlier this year), so the share price may get back past 45p at some point…

In Americo we trust.

Very professional presentation where both CEO ( in particular) and CFO acquitted themselves very well.

I like the new CEO very much, a breath of fresh air comes nowhere near to describing his positive impact now and going forward.

I was particularly pleased with the very bullish outlook for our 3D sensing business now we know that significant diversification is going to take place starting in H2 in terms of customers, Lumentum is of course our main and valued strategic partner, it’s fabulous to know that the as yet unnamed Asian customer is coming on stream in a significant manner in H2.

I can’t believe Truss is our new PM, however if anyone is going to lead us to follow the US chips act she seems to be the one to do it, we shall see.

Enough said
Well pleased

For all the bad news an adjusted 1.4m loss. It shows if they get the new orders in a profit won't be far off. Plus currency issue negated in H2 if pound falls. still a 2024 project. 45p was too high for where we are at.

Results are as expected as dull as dishwater. So the next 6 months share price direction is down to what they have to say in Nov 9th. Better be some meat on the bones for once.

As expected pretty uninspiring and we need to wait til Nov 9th to hear of future prospects. Clearly this “volume” of new orders hasn’t happened yet or the market would have to be told. It’s a long old road here still…

Will be interesting how the market reacts, steady down day like the past month or something less or more positive?

They have adjusted loss of 1.4m. so the 8.25m loss after tax likely includes one offs.

Exactly as forecast and expected
Appears they are confident that we are as ‘shielded̵7; from geopolitical debacles as any company could be which must be good news.
Capital markets day presentation in November and the associated statements that go with it will be the ‘guide’ to progress

Glad they are doing a webcast, nothing more to say till it’s viewed.

Mostly inline with expectation it seems. General admin cost 6m higher than H1 2021 with revenue growth just over 1%.These new orders better come in. 7m loss?

The strength of the dollar has a huge impact here and will notionally make them profitable this year as it's only going to get stronger. There is always some volatility with the eSP around results day, even though they have already told the market what the numbers are. It's all about how upbeat they are for 23

Guild I don’t think they have huge orders imminent more that Americo was saying that’s what IQE will need to grow revenue and make sustainable profits. I have an inkling tomorrows news will be neither good or bad. With the share price already down at low 30s there is probably only significant downside if they announce something the market dislikes.

Let's not assume the news tomorrow is bad. They wouldn't be planning huge surge in production without some idea of where these new orders will come from. They would not be advertising jobs if things were that bad. I counted 10 or so jobs in UK. Albeit 1-2% of workforce.

Been saying for years sell at the peaks. 45p never had any news to back it. Mainly shorts closing.

Remains a mystery to me why I don’t trade instead of sit and wait/hope re IQE.

If the outlook is not promising tomorrow I expect many to sell. How long do you wait for this to come good…?

Nick they are both reported as “sells”.

Long Tall Sally called the top at 45p recently, shame “we” didn’t sell as we could have added a few hundred thousand shares by now for “free”.

If IQE disappoint with guidance tomorrow welcome to the 20s once more.
