26/9/2022 09:49 | Someone must have heard you Sweenoid ;) There are quite a few UK stocks that look value for a mid to long term hold as of today. | crosswires
26/9/2022 09:20 | Sweenoid-its 11 years since Intel actually confirmed it had made an approach to Iqe for around £500million,nearly twice the current Mkt Cap.I am surprised that Dr Drew Nelson has not taken Iqe PRIVATE as the company has been underrated compared to its peers especially in America.Time will tell | lammergeier
22/9/2022 13:41 | Drew Nelson & the Chinese need to be kept out of NWF. I remember some years ago when he announced that 100 machines would up & running soon at IQE. That proved to be a La La Land prophecy. | picobird
22/9/2022 10:51 | Sweenoid, you were 'loyal' to IQE and pumping this at £1.50 on here in 2017. Such optimism which has not filtered through into growth at all. Now the share price is 33.5p and you are still as blind as ever. Maybe 2023 or 2024 or 2025 or 2030 IQE might start to deliver for shareholders. Maybe it might never happen. | american idiot
22/9/2022 08:22 | Guild iPhone 14 has the highest yet mix of Pro and Pro max which is what matters the most to IQE as these are the phones with our 3D sensing in. Reports suggest that Apple have amended their suppliers production to add share to these models over the next 6 months. | crosswires
22/9/2022 08:11 | I am loyal to nobody and nothing except my family Guildedge. I believe my investment here will lead to a good return unlike many perhaps even you and certainly many of the other prolific posters whose only investment strategy appears to be based on the fear of missing out ( FOMA)? As a Newportonian who lived within 3 miles of the NWF building for over 30 years the arguments around the takeover by Nexperia have a social as well as an economic component. We shall soon know what is going to happen, I think the following article demonstrates how ‘attitudes&rsq Newport staff want Chinese owners S | sweenoid
21/9/2022 22:40 | I was looking at share patterns and why the share price was falling. A large 11m trade explains the depressed prices here. I would say I got an answer. Who knows if these were short trades or major shareholders. See what if any RNS follows. You are very loyal to this share Sweenoid. I hope at some point this pays off for you. As crosswire suggests maybe not in 2022. Or 2023 based on current revenue forecasts? Hopefully your other investments are going better. New Iphone 14 has not got great reviews. Suggesting Andriod may now be ahead? Not sure this is responsible for the falls here. | guildedge
21/9/2022 21:03 | May not be worth vexing on shorts, but it definitely pays to keep an eye on the overall percentage of disclosed shorts. Not sure it’s worth vexing on wider sector trends much either. The trend has hardly been our friend in recent years. | lord loads of lolly
21/9/2022 18:00 | You got no answers 😂, why vex on shorts? It’s a waste of time This is far more interesting and even informative S | sweenoid
21/9/2022 17:34 | Okay got some answers on the drop in share price here. 3 late trades one 11,375,079, 1m and 768,400. Shares traded today 15,233,514. If this is a short or seller clearing expect share price to bounce back tomorrow? 15m shares is almost 2% of total shares here. | guildedge
21/9/2022 15:01 | Guild, I think something good will happen but it’ll start in 2023 not this year. It’s probably 2024 when things could get interesting if Americo delivers | crosswires
16/9/2022 18:18 | With the broker rise I thought for a moment maybe the city had seen something good in the results. The Barclays site marginally increased it's end of year forecast by just under 2m with 7.21m loss. 2023 now at 176.69 which seems up about 1.69m. Loss of 1.66m for 2023 still. Shorters still ruling the roost it seems for now even if most SH aove 3% seem to be increasing. No real change on UK or US short site. JP Morgan still at 0.82%. US site only shows 10k shares shorted. Interesting that Drew wants to buy back in. Wonder what he knows? Or just protecting his business interests. This is the kind of share you just keep feeling something good could happen here but you just keep waiting for it. | guildedge
16/9/2022 12:43 | crosswires - well that was the kiss of death then! | lord loads of lolly
14/9/2022 10:43 | Holding up well LTS, good to see the resilience. Soxx is looking attractive again for the long term play. | crosswires
14/9/2022 08:07 | The Soxx took a pounding yesterday may be a tough day. | longtallsally
13/9/2022 15:44 | Drew Nelson in the news. Wants to buy back his stake. The previous owner of the UK’s largest semiconductor manufacturer is orchestrating a bid to buy back the company he sold to Chinese-owned Nexperia in a deal that is at the centre of controversy over Britain’s industrial policy. Drew Nelson owned Newport Wafer Fab until 2021 and oversaw its reported £63mn sale to Dutch company Nexperia, owned by China’s Wingtech Technology. He has teamed up with private equity group Palladian Investment Partners to bid for the company, according to two people briefed on the matter. It comes as the UK government plans to call for Nexperia to reduce its ownership of the company substantially, according to two people briefed on the matter. Nexperia held a 14 per cent stake before the buyout. The government has told the company it will decide by October 3. The former business secretary, Kwasi Kwarteng, announced in May that he was “calling in” the acquisition of Newport under the National Security and Investment Act, new legislation that enables the government to limit or block foreign transactions involving strategic national assets. Under the terms of the takeover, Nelson was offered first refusal to buy back the company, which employs about 450 people in the Welsh city of Newport if its assets were made available again, the people said. | jimboyce
12/9/2022 16:30 | sweenoid - Love the way you view IQE like Turkish Delight. Full of Eastern (OK, Welsh) promise. Here's hoping your unswerving optimism is FINALLY rewarded! | lord loads of lolly
12/9/2022 15:31 | Interesting appointment at partners Porotech Joined the board last week - doubt if someone of his callibre would be interested unless he sees great promise there, which bodes well for IQE, we shall see. S | sweenoid
12/9/2022 15:08 | crosswires - please tell me you don't believe any of those price targets. IMHO they're either written by idiots with zero company knowledge or dodgy city types with a vested interest. The only conclusion one can draw with some certainty from today's price target is that Deutsche Bank will - as ever - get it wrong. Then they'll just issue a new (higher or lower) price target and hope nobody noticed. | lord loads of lolly
12/9/2022 10:50 | Only a 5p rise but at least it’s an upward revision! 12th September- Deutsche Bank raises IQE price target to 45 (40) pence - 'buy' | crosswires
09/9/2022 09:12 | Well yes, better than downgrading I guess. And there ARE some potential green shoots with IQE now (how often have we said that!). But if I had a pound for every time a broker rated my shares well above their current value, I wouldn't need to hold a single share in any company any longer. | lord loads of lolly
09/9/2022 08:43 | Good to see a broker valuing Iqe at 65P a share, its only a matter of time with 5g kicking in and a strengthening dollar this underrated share starts a bull run. Numis, which has a ‘buy’ rating on the stock, said IQE was "delivering on all fronts". It continued: "IQE keeps securing major building blocks to consistently grow value from the 2023 full-year. "We think IQE’s strategic value is likely a multiple of its current market cap, and we reiterate our view that IQE is worth at least 65p a share." | lammergeier
07/9/2022 16:14 | Me neither guildedge. In fact, I never thought the UK government would intervene TBH. But it's even more unlikely under Liz-"Free Market"-Truss. Though, frankly, she changes her tune so regularly, it's anyone's guess what she'll do next. No free handouts one day = £100bn+ bailout the next. | lord loads of lolly |
