IQE could finish in the blue with obvious buying taking place, whilst at the same time the S&P enters official correction territory down 10% from the peak.

Quite an achievement.

Looks like the US and South Korea will have 5G up and running in some cities early next year if this Samsung Galaxy S10 report is true.https://www.wsj.com/articles/samsungs-top-secret-galaxy-s-phone-is-a-5g-monster-with-six-cameras-1542723747

Just closed out 25pc of my Nasdaq tech100 short at 6550. This was my initial downside target from 7500. This level is KEY on the weekly chart. Failure here and bears are in full control.

Nothing is immune to a sell off unfortunately and Dow futures now down 300 points and most stocks being dragged down too.

You are right Fuji. Actually now up on the day. The two minute chart looking very good, showing we were climbing yesterday as the US techs were selling off. Had a good closing auction and now up this morning.

That has got to be a positive sign, whether it is bargain hunters or shorts closing, it bodes well for when the US tech rebounds. Fears of a no deal Brexit and a slump in the pound could in fact be helping due to the potential currency tailwind.

IQE actually holding well when one looks at last night battered Nasdaq - including Apple.

Sometimes you get naughty stuff like Shdowfalls spurious accounting claims, yes...designed just to panic the market and drive the share price down.

Those pesky shorts huh 😂

Way too many conspiracy theorys about shorts, most are nonsense.

Very odd, shorters paid for information!!

So someone knew that Trump would start a trade war with China and that Apple would eventually suffer, but didn't tell Apple, so they over ordered, is that it?

What information did the shorters pay for sailastra?

Although markets are down but many say that its short term. Shorters jave done well amd made over $ 825 Mn. However in 7 weeks 20% shorts have closed so it depends on shorts now. They want to close or wait for the turn around.

Exactly why Apple cut Lumentum orders who then passed on to IQE but last weeks news

Don’t get me wrong I’d be happy for the market to mark us down to 50p tomrorow as I’m hungry for more shares even cheaper if they get offered. 😋

A lesson learnt, those that shorted did their stuff and had knowledge very close to inside information. Not that they cheated but they paid for information which was well ahead of that in the public domain. And they were right, hats off and well done.

DaveMac3:

Yes all in the price. Nothing but a re-hash of last week's story. Even the 4% drop in Apple shares today (or at least 3.5% of it) had already occurred by close of London market so nothing new there.

Good to hear, I would say the risk on IQE is virtually non existent now, however I think the real share price appreciation may be another year or so away so plenty of time to reconsider.

Albert, poor timing chap 😉

In the sense that any time in the last 18 months (or more) would have been a better time to sell than now, of course you are correct.

If on the other hand you mean that the "stars are now aligned" for a stellar rise from this bargain price - has that not been the case for some time now?

Last years FY results was going to be the trigger for some.

Then it was the H1 trading update.

Then the H1 results.

Then the FY trading statement.

It's not going to be the FY results (unless Apple come out and tell us they were only kidding!), so what is it going to be?

I still remain positive about the long term future of this company, but I honestly see no reason to hold the shares for the moment.
Sure, something could come out of the blue (such as a takeover maybe) and if it does I'll happily 'congratulate' those showing more patience than myself, but in the near term I personally believe that the odds and not in the favour of shareholders.

Mmmmmm! I think your target was 30p, later increased to 50p and short was from 120p [see below].
