Yesterday, it was such an easy game to play,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Oh I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, my pot is half what it used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh yesterday came suddenly.

Why sweenoid have to go,
I don't know he would not say,
Did I say something wrong,
Oh how I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away,
The crunk used to come out to play,
Oh I believe in yesterday.

Three transactions totalling over 3.5m shares popped up after the UT today. Possibly further short closures, buying up shares from panicky PIs!

None of mine are up for grabs either. I even bravely or foolishly tried to catch some more of the falling knife at 92p. The price action isn't pretty but it's just short term manoeuvrings IMHO. Two things might happen soon enough with a new Chairman and new FD (assuming one is appointed in due course)... first a long overdue move to the main board from AIM, which would create a lot of tracker fund buying from both index and technology trackers... second the Board should consider using some of the cash (£40m at recent results less £16m earmarked for Taiwan, less a few million earmarked for more MOCVD's, say £20m - leaves £4m before go into debt assuming zero positive cashflow contribution - to buy back 5m shares for cancellation. At current price of 85p, that's a 55p/share round trip profit on the shares issued at 140p. Good stockbroking.

Trump could certainly put a spanner in the works, but at least IQE has manufacturing in the US as well. Even Trump - in his most senior moment - is unlikely to put tariffs on that!

I think the negative price action is down to the Trump China tariffs and this is now a threat to the whole tech sector.
Add that to some people adding more cash at this time and we have very negative sentiment. However look at all those people who paid way more than this during the past year and add-in that the company is now much stronger in every way than previously and it looks like a very strong buying opportunity to me.

As it is now below my top up threshold (90) I will add a few.

Most weak holders will have bottled it already, as there's only 45 minutes' trading left before Apple's announcement tonight. Afraid NONE of mine are up for grabs!

That's defo not referring to Apple, it's wireless. Apple is Photonics. Not saying there will be anything bad relating to Apple, just that the above statement does not refer to Apple.

Cardiff, UK. 24th July 2018: IQE plc (AIM: IQE; "IQE", the "Group"), the leading global supplier of advanced wafer products and wafer services to the semiconductor industry, announces that it has successfully renegotiated its long-term supply contract with a premier tier one customer for the supply of wafer products used in wireless applications, and in doing so extended the range of products covered and increased the overall IQE share of the customers’ epiwafer requirements.

BillyTKid2 - no-one's worried about Apple right now! As I said previously, IQE announced in their latest TU that they'd retained their Tier 1 contract (with Apple, though NDAs preclude them saying this). They also stated that this contract would generate more revenue this year than last. So cheer up, I think your worries are unfounded. PS: I'm a big IQE holder too and I'm not unduly worried. In fact, UI've been adding these past 2 days.

I'm not worried about Apple. I'm nervous that the new products might not be integrating as much of the 3D sensing technology that has been touted. I'm a holder of AMS and IQE. I have no plans to sell as am in for the long term, it just makes me nervous the sell off these stocks have had over the last few sessions. If my suspicions are proved correct tonight then it will be another example to me of insider trading. I hope I'm wrong. If Apple deliver what has been muted for a while then we should see a big bounce.

Mind you, if rumours are true that the entry level model is the iPhone XS, you have to question their marketing guys for once. XS / excess .....

BillyTKid2 - it's tedious hearing similar bear rumours each year, just before Apple's latest launch. Especially as they've ALWAYS proved false to date. I think Apple know how to grow the business, don't you?

Correct - general consensus being that at least 2 of the 3 new iPhones will have Face ID (for which IQE is a supplier). Let's not forget IQE retained their contract with Apple until at least Sept 19, with the promise of increased business from them over the next year. That's significant!

The price action this week on 3D sensing stocks IQE, AMS, Aixtron etc is screaming of insider trading on people knowing the update from Apple will not be too bullish. I hope I'm wrong.
