The prospects for this company have never been so compelling. This share is an absolute bargain at this price.

This is falling on fairly low volume. Generally lots of stocks are down and the high ish current PE means it’s more likely to fall if sentiment is less bullish.

I don’t see why any investor should panic as 80p-£1.20 is about right on current earnings assumptions. It could go below 80p, if it does I will buy more.

If there was really high volume then the fall would be more concerning but it’s the marginal holders that are being scared away. Which is good for the longer term.

Sold out this morning not because this is a badly run company... on the contrary, I believe in IQE and Dr Drew Nelson. I had been in since 29p in 2012. Didn't want to sell but I'll be damned if I will see my money being eroded by shorting scum. It's high time shorting was regulated. It's destroying many great companies so for that reason, I'm out with a fairly healthy profit. Good luck all genuine holders. Will be watching from the sidelines

As many have said before they did not issue an RNS when the share price went nearly 10 fold so why when it had decreased just half ?

If it's true regarding these 'fabled shorters' the low 80's might not be too far away..

Whilst IQE continues to flounder and flirts with new lows, VRS soars a further 9.8p to yet another new high of 184.8p [+5.6%] this morning.

It must be getting close to the point where IQE is obliged to tell the market that they see no reason for the slump in the share price and that everything is still on track?

Coolhand - Apples share price is all that a shorting campaign could hope to control, but they haven't really done very well in the past, certainly not what Apple products may need 6" wafers (which is only going up) which we supply to the likes of Lumentum anyways.

rac/thecrunk.
I have never emailed a company for info on a holding, but aware of others having success..to a degree.
I assume BOD/key staff don't have time for many info requests, especially when they like to play a close hand, so can't imagine an email on os own will solicit a reply.

If they understand it is something significant in the persons life, and can see from their own records (address of s/h) that this person was a significant holder (in PI terms) then there is a good chance they will go out of the way to give some perspective.

They are likely shareholders too and have the same concerns, but perhaps mitigated by their position of better foresight and feel as employee.
I am single and only have to account to self.
To say to a spouse, I have made a good decison, market is wrong, I am right, just wait and wait..is bound to be hard and frustrating.

I have noticed some of my posts, intended as friendly, voted down. I believe we are here for mutual support and sharing info/perceptions, so find that odd.

Apple event tomorrow evening UK time (12th), we should get conf of at least 2 if not 3 iPhones with FACE ID. Unsure if iPad will be in this event or later in October but will also see FACE ID...

I seriously dont get some people. Apart from currency tailwinds what bad has IQE declared nothing. They are sticking to the guidance, they are expanding locally and internationally (taiwan). They are neogotiating with 20 chipmakers. Apple is highly likely to bring Face id on all phones. 5g is in the pipeline. lithography small order executed a few months back this is likely to gain traction. Oh what the fork no CFO no CFO no CFO. In company's last RNS they said CFO will be finalised in september. So hold on if you cant sell and move on.

With respect, it looks more as if IQE's time has been and gone and Brexit could kill it off.

Dr Smith

You are far kinder than I am... The Crunk is a bleating git... He claims to have lost £40,000. And blames the BOD and their failure to appoint a new CFO... Rasmussen was a good man and as you point out, died just six months ago.. I feel for his family and I am glad that Crunk has moved on...May he rest in peace.. And no longer spoil my day with his foolish posts..

to thecrunk:

"I am not happy with comms either, but given your extreme frustration, emailing company may have helped. Too late now..perhaps.
I wish things had worked out different for you."

And, "Given zero stamp duty, you could still come back in, if you can get un-settling questions answered. An open direct email to them, maybe with address, so registrar can cross ref you to know you are/were a holder, not a journalist in disguise." -End-

Well DRS, things HAVE 'worked out different' for thecrunk. He played an ace hand yesterday by switching out of IQE into VRS and got his £40,000 losses wiped out in one foul [or is it fowl?] swoop.

And, he can, if he wishes, switch back into IQE with a clean sheet.

What a position to be in - able to buy around 200,000 shares? at around 91p, just 2p above the all-time-low of 89p. I wish I was in that position instead of nursing a sizeable paper-loss at present.

On a serious note, crunk's numbers just do not add up and as for him possibly being mistaken for 'a journalist in disguise' - I presume you're taking the urine? or maybe not?

One thing is certain, this BB is getting funnier by the minute - LOL!

Is the drop today to do with Trump putting pressure on Apple to use US parts and assemble in the US? Fin did make a comment in the con-call that they saw an advantage in manufacturing in the US.We have a Capital Markets Day on 21 Sept. will we have any news to report beforehand? Rumours of potential delay in the availability of new iPhones. If this is the case, that must be good news as that would delay our orders and ensure a stronger H2 as some sales will have moved from H1 to H2. Let's see what Apple announce tomorrow.
