Ipavlou: dont do that. Set your stop loss at 45p now. If it continues up then reset your stoploss to 50p. I can tell u from past experience its gutting when your target turns into a multibagger.

That must be about the fifth time, I'm surprised he's got any left to sell. Quite a few people I know say that after they have already sold and want to buy back in cheaper but hey ho, each turn now their own. I'm keeping mine as there's a bigger story unfolding here and I feel it's just starting to get out there.

Spoole5, I'm going to start closing my position tomorrow if the share price reaches 50p. We've had a great run and I'm happy to start banking some profit. At the beginning of the year I set a target of 50p by December and we've nearly reached that already, so am comfortable with my strategy. If the price keeps rising then I'll continue to reduce my position. Good luck to all.

Big_Cat,I hope your joking and wouldn't buy just off someone's opinion on a bulletin board without doing full research first! If you are, then I have some magic beans that turn into gold if your interested?

Thank you Tomy - based on your comment I have just topped another 50K shares. If they bomb I know who to come to :-)

You can already see "5G Ready" devices being made, technology will advance regardless of adoption by carriers. Besides 5G we will see strong growth in Photonics and Power amplifiers in the very short term.

IMO, the market is eventually starting to understand the significance of IQE's technology, how they have a foothold in every compound semiconductor wafer market and how that technology is the fundamental building block for technological advances of the future! Tomorrow's technology will not be able to run on silicon alone.....compound semiconductor properties will outshine silicon!

According to newspaper reports, 5G is not happening anytime soon as the phone companies have yet to recoup the sky high price paid for 4G - where does that leave IQE?

What do you make of that rivaldo? Still some significant accumulation going on? If that is the case I don't understand why there haven't been more Holding RNSs. Of the 3 over the last month, 2 appear to be reductions in holdings!

What happens post results?A fall in share price because of buy on anticipation and sell on the news?A period of consolidation?Or a rise in share price as the market wakes up to the IQE story?

Bit late buying tomorrow. Do you mean 'by tomorrow', Zaina, implying 'buy today'. Lol!

Nicely explained with IQE and MACOM involvement : are all aware that electronics is continually shrinking and more and more functionality is being squeezed in to an ever decreasing space. However as electronic devices are not 100% efficient, this also means that the heat generated due to losses in the devices is also dissipated in an ever decreasing area. In some instances, the power density in some modern electronic devices is as high as that on the surface of the sun. Clearly if this heat is not removed the devices would simply melt and fail. The cooling requirements for modern electronics are therefore very extreme and are often the limiting factor in how well a device can perform even if the fundamental materials properties could allow higher performance. The ability of a material to conduct heat away from the hot part of a device is described by its thermal conductivity. Diamond has a thermal conductivity of 2000W/mK, five times larger than that of copper and the highest of any material making it the ideal material to remove heat from electronic devices. Incorporating diamond heat spreaders in to semiconductor systems is very challenging though as it has very different mechanical and structural properties to most semiconductors. One of the most promising new semiconductor materials is Gallium Nitride (GaN). Because of its wide band gap and the ease with which electrons can move through it, GaN offer the promise of a new generation of higher power, higher efficiency and smaller electronics. GaN device technology has now reached a point where removing heat is a key limiting factor in device performance and reliability. In our new project we will be working with a group of world leading universities (Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham) and companies (IQE, Element6, MACOM, Onsemi, Airbus, ESA, Selex) to develop methods to incorporate diamond in to the heart of GaN transistors. This will allow the power density in GaN devices to be increased by up to a factor of 6 over the current state of the art and will be key to enabling the next generation of radars and the development future mobile phone networks at 5G and beyond.http://www.gan.msm.cam.ac.uk/projects

I heard that the winter olympics (Feb 2018 S Korea) is the place where some serious 5G showboating is likely to occur - less than a year away now too
