This is exactly the kind of deal that we expect Iomart to be picking up - augurs well for 2010 figures.

Nice announcement! Maybe this will get picked up by the press.

Cloud computing is certainly becoming more and more of a buzzword. I reckon it would be a good idea to invest in a company that is involved with this .... Doh .....I am!

Get the impression that there is a protracted tree shake going on. Keep the price low enough for long enough and some PI's will just give up and sell. With many millions of cash in the bank, netintelligence starting to pick up contracts, the value of easyspace as a domain name register/ host and then the Datacenters this should be much higher.

In response to Whispa, this provides a very interesting opportunity for the private investor, given that the shares are probably seriously ubndervalued.

I was just looking at the Iomart site and in particular the major shareholders in the company:

The seven on the list account for around 70% of the shares. I would imagine that other directors and execs probably own 10% leaving only around 20% in the "open" market.
I'm unsure if this is common amongst AIM listed companies but it seems that the PI's don't have much of a look-in here.
Any thoughts anyone?

Nice to see another director buying ..... sorry did I say director I meant the chairman! Lets hope we're nearing critical mass and good times ahead. The sum of all parts of the business far exceed the current share price by the way.

To follow up on mesquida's post

Extracts from todays FT:

Minnows jump on early dividend bandwagon

It's not only the large companies that are bringing forward dividend payments to avoid the coming 50p tax rate on income.

By their very nature, small companies on Aim have founders and directors with substantial shareholdings. And while only a small proportion of companies on Aim pay a dividend, many of those that do are taking action.

Other companies that have changed their dividend plans include Iomart, the Glasgow-based software and computer services group with a market capitalisation of £44m, and InterQuest, the IT recruitment group. InterQuest paid its maiden interim dividend of 1p only in June last year, and has already paid another 2p to shareholders.

I am not saying that there will not be further acquisitions but surely the reason for ¨missing¨ the final dividend is that it is effectively being brought forward and paid as an interim in early April, presumably so as to keep the major shareholder´s tax bill down. Nothing wrong with that - in fact a number of companies have recently adopted the same strategy.

Always nice to get a dividend with an increasing coupon.
Even better to see the directors buying.
I am assuming that the final dividend is being passed is because there is a need for further acquisition funding in one of these nice add-on deals that Angus MacSween specioalises in.

Wh1spa,
IOM seems pretty far off most peoples radars at the moment, the buys weren't much but nice to see. I also read recently they had started a new 'cheaper' hosting package or alike which should pick up some more customers. I like the way it's going but when do you think the next set of news will be...will we have to wait until may/June for full year results. I can't see it doing much until then if thats the case.

This is delayed recognition of a great year and a potentially great company. It's building nicely and with a high quality high value-added platform it must do cumulatively substantially better with some excellent figures coming through in 2010/2011.

Lots of good press re the netintelligence deal which in turn should bring in more business for Iom. It is good to see NI hitting the headlines as it has always been a bit of a lame duck ..... until now. I still maintain that IOM is hugely undervalued and a likely takeover target.

More and more little trades. I wonder if someone is accumulating behind the scenes.
