There is negligible short interest in IOG. Short-tracker shows that it's currently at 1%:



The main determinant of share prices is always longs. The share price is down at this level because the longs have capitulated and dumped their shares.

If anyone ever talks to you about the Efficient Market Hypothesis, remind them that EMH assumes "all stocks are perfectly priced according to their inherent investment properties, the knowledge of which all market participants possess equally". You can then explain to them that this assumption can't possibly be correct when there are people buying shares of IOG based on an analysis such as:

No one compares total assets with the market cap of equity! What about the company's liabilities? In particular the EUR 100m (recently increased to EUR 105m) bond!?!?! Then there's the other bond, the decommissioning liabilities, trade payables, etc, etc.

A more sensible comparison is to compare the equity market cap with the company's net assets. And if you look at the most recent finals:



then you'll find that net assets (aka "Total equity") was a mere £2,591k as at 30 June 2022, ie about £8.4m *BELOW* the c. £11m equity market cap!

But of course markets are forward looking and so it's helpful to look at broker forecasts to see what this figure might be now. finnCap's forecast can be downloaded from here:



finnCap forecast that net equity will be -£10.0m (ie negative - liabilities will exceed assets) as at 31 Dec 2023

Using interpolation then the net equity at the interim stage (30 June 2023) would have been c. -£4.2 (again minus).

It doesn't really matter how you look at the numbers the conclusion is damning for equity holders - IOG's liabilities dwarf its assets.

Dead cat bounces to 3.0p before the end of August, I will not discount that. At least the scumbag wannabes rampers got killed and liquidated, now they will watch in disgust.

Took a hundred K in morning lows for a punt dead cat bounce for fun. Let's see if I can sell again in the spike-like like I did the day before.
