Please keep the tips coming fellers. This is a very helpful and non-ramping source of ideas... obviously we all need to be wary of 'tips' but as long as we DYOR there is no harm in ideas...GLA NAI

Have a scan of MSMN. They are targeting 26mm barrels (P2) drilling 3/4 wells starting in June. Only £7.5m market cap and around 60million shares.

Thanks for joining the dots Rug. I thought it too coincidental on the Denver point but had forgotten the name of the Montana exploration unofficial partner.

I'll read with interest and look a bit deeper.

cyberbub,
I agree...but then the share price will be justified by actual performance, not blue sky however feasible that looked at the time.

Agree Che7win. I said a while ago IF the company get a grip, iodine prices rise modestly, and confidence returns, we could be back to the previous highs by late 2015...NAI

cyber,
The 45p resistence lines are fading away, only a matter of time before we move above 50p - company news will drive us up from these levels.

You are thinking ahead, so am I - the Market hasn't yet worked out that next year, we shouldn't have brine issues. I'm thinking 1000MT and $50 iodine spot prices, OPEX around $20.

Add an expanding portfolio of plants (IO7 this year and a couple of mobiles) and more again next year,

I could see a break for 75p IF we get a positive production update, and news of brine volume resolution, and timescale for mobile plant rollout.NAI

cyber,
true, the market takes time to work out new direction, things are looking up though.

Generally, smaller cap growth stocks have bargain hunters coming in, just look at BLNX, GBO, TUNG in the past week. IOF has been dragging it's heels.

Looks like we still have some resistance around 44p from people who bought heavily at 22p a month ago and are taking a 100% profit... I find there are often psychological lines of resistance at 25%, 50%, 100% profit... after the 100% line is broken, all bet are off...NAI

Glad you found it an interesting exercise, Mark.

I've looked at a few dates on OCC and FracFocus to compare with what's happening on the ground in that image,in order to get an idea on timelines. One of the MidStates rigs which I 'mislaid' was on the Trixie lease at 36.623829,-98.565363 drilling one of two wells permitted on that site. They were permitted on 12/2 and spudded on the 19/2 and 23/2 (so the dozer must have been on site to clear and lay the pad when the permit was granted). Drilling the first well (which goes south under the road for a mile)in the image on 10/3, which was fracced on 10/5. That lease must be on the southern limit of the MidStates leases, although there is another pad about 4 miles ESE (the Baker lease) with 6 wells drilled on it, c/w frac tank.

By the way, my rough calculation on the fractank capacities puts them on about 27,000 barrels assuming a 10ft depth (based on shadow length compared with containers/trucks). Fracs seem to be in 10 stages, 5-6000 bbls per stage, so roughly two tank loads to complete a frac.

Hi Rugrat,

Just finished putting the little flags on the Google Earth map. It's been quite good fun. What has dawned on me (even though we have been told it's a oil boom out there) is that there are wells everywhere out there! So yeah, thanks for the nudge, it's been good.
