They are near, so that may have had an influence too. I had heard the odd muttering about when Ennis would close and for what reason, so didn't expect them to start now.

Pain they put IOF through? Most of it is IOF's own fault for being too optimistic from the outset. Ennismore have played a blinder and deserve credit. They have called it right time and again. Lets hope that they have called the bottom right as well.

Hold on tight to your shares guys, don't make it easy for Ennismore to exit after the pain they've put us through!

Any ideas on the presentations? Increased insti holdings suggests they have started. Hope it is US insti's buying.

I find it quite comforting to see that Ennismore are closing their short. I had wondered whether they might hang on a bit longer to take advantage of the general market correction which seems to be under way.

As it is, if they do continue to close their position they may well stop us from falling as far as we may well have done otherwise. They should have some time to get out safely before the general market stabilises enough to allow IOF to rise significantly even on good production figures.

I'll be happy if we stay at this level for the next couple of weeks, but I'm not overly optimistic. I'll be really pleased to be proved wrong, though!

0.18% closed is around 230,000 shares bought Friday.

Pity they got out on the bottom, they timed it well, unless we have more positive news before they finish.

If you can remember the reason for Ennismore being short(in their newsletter)was that they didn't believe IOF could sell iodine. Last week IOF confirmed they were making sales.

Ennismore made 50pc on their money over 9 months. I sense longs will make 50pc in much shorter time from here assuming the additional iodine production kicks in over next few weeks.

Good spot CK, started closing Thursday and Friday:

Would expect them to continue to close if they can get out while the price is this low.

Interesting...Ennismore starting to close their short, makes sense as I believe this marks the bottom and a recovery in the share price as we look to further positive milestones this month

Big dump in the US markets this evening with the S&P down 2% and the Dow off by 1.8%. Probably a follow though in European markets tomorrow morning.

I'm not quite sure what to make of today's rns. Clearly progress has been made with respect to the engineering side and legal issues regarding extraction, and it looks as though there is a strong possibility that the whole amount - 80,000bpd - might be granted. I am confused however as to what is actually meant by the 'addendum'. Have the company asked for something else, as well as the original letters of intent? Surely the point of this meeting was to clarify and finalise to the next step prior to the placing of the application to 30 day public hearing.

There is confidence expressed in the rns, but I'm wondering why the company mention the administrative hearing at all.

In summary though, still looking as though there should be a favourable outcome, with the overall tone of the rns.

"While the interests of the business are served by the aphorism 'Don't just stand there. Do something!' the interests of investors are served by an approach that is its diametrical opposite: 'Don't do something. Just stand there!'"

True to form the slide continues. Look out tomorrow. This mornings buyers will be well underwater if I'm not mistaken and I rarely am.

Shonny - If you're rarely mistaken as you claim you should have made an absolute fortune by now and be sunning yourself on some talcum powder beach surrounded by large breasted nymphettes - not posting on here on a cool February afternoon! Muppet

It fluctuates but from 40 odd percent to 62. A significant shift.
