16/12/2013 08:57 | Scrut Not me, I haven't posted on the GDL thread for months and won't, no point in stirring up many decent posters from that thread and I wish them well in their investment, and hope GDL does very well. India to me is a much safer option than China. Yes Jack destroyed that thread no one else. Jack brought the debate here but doesn't want to talk about it in genuine debate? You know my view and yes I take that rns today with a very large pinch of salt. The posts and indications earlier this this year, suggested more rigs would be ordered in China. The actual is that they are moving rigs out of China. Why not order some for India, they have the timeframe to do that, based on supply times. The rns seems to indicate 100 wells will be drilled in H2 2014. It states there will be a mix of vertical and directional wells. There are no indications of drill times per well for India. Around 180 days 5 rigs = 900 days. Say 20% directional as they give no guide. Half the 80 odd days they take in China and that's your 900 days more or less gone, without strip down and set up elsewhere time. So I think contact should be made with the company to ask how they forecast they can drill that many wells, with so few rigs, in such a short space of time. | ![]() superg1
16/12/2013 08:44 | True they've got wrong all the time. What do they just look at the chart and take a guess. | ![]() jagsta386
16/12/2013 08:40 | phoenix, they've got their advice wrong 100% of the time so far, that's a positive then :-) It's based on charting, how come they can never predict price action correct before it happens? Nothing to do with fundamentals. It doesn't take into account the rumoured operational update this week. | ![]() che7win

16/12/2013 08:04 | Hey Jack Rigs off to India, didn't I post that over the weekend. I assume that's the subject. 100 wells in 6 months, with 5 rigs ????. Do the maths. They talk 88 days for a directional drill and mention a mix of those and vertical. It may be different in India, must be less drilling as 650k per well. Every rig to meet the target needs to drill 1 wells every 9 days. That 9 days includes set up to drill, then strip down, move and set up again. I bet you believe they can do it, yet the maths says once more that it is impossible to achieve based on data from the past. They have given no indication of drill times. I hope they achieve it but still no details of that one test well, predicted new early Q1 this year. I'll email GDL for you, and see what they say about anticipated drill times in India. | ![]() superg1

15/12/2013 22:37 | CR I always look upon Director's purchases with a degree of scepticism - you can imagine the board meeting -'what can we do to support the share price - how about the FD buys a few - oh and take a loan for the purchase.' Better to meet the guys involved and take their measure and correspond with them. I've met the principals at IOF - they know what they're doing and hold shareholder's interest high. I'm confident they will deliver. | ![]() iofra
