13/12/2013 11:37 | noli, agreed. However this does show on what basis some people have invested in IOF. The fundamental reason for investing in IOF is iodine and not water which is "blue sky". The production of iodine is what will prove value of investing in IOF. IOF4-5 are under construction and should be running by end of Jan. IO2-3 running at full capacity. The profits are already beginning to roll in. That is not to say that the water is worthless. We just have to let procedures play themselves out and see what the end result will be. It would not surprise me to read in a couple of weeks that the permit has been granted....etc. The share price will then jump and nearly all will be forgotten! I HOPE. | ![]() phoenixs
13/12/2013 11:36 | Joe, b, i have not seen any institution rns stating they are off loading, it seems to be the other way around from comments posted. | ![]() noli
13/12/2013 11:34 | One can only hope they do as it was supposed to be a formality but the damage has been done and the lowly pi is the one to suffer as they are forced to close positions and sell their shares not knowing what is going on :(( | ![]() joeblogg2
13/12/2013 11:31 | Sounds like the application just needs to be tweaked with all the major milestones signed off. I suspect IOF will comment on this in any production update. Time to go against the crowd | hurricane.
13/12/2013 11:30 | Worraps, the way i see it, nothing has changed with the water. They will or will not get it. I still believe they will. People better informed than us PI's know exactly whats going on, we have record production as we speak, that is about to increase again with six weeks. We have records being broken at IOC year on year, it hardly sounds like a struggling company. OK some rns's could have been worded better but overall the future is fantastic and todays price clearly does not reflect the future, or even a few weeks from now. | ![]() noli
13/12/2013 11:23 | Just to remind people of the EA that I found the other day for the water application. With all the work done, the application will not just simply be denied end of, this is all part of the process. Total over reaction this morning. Iofina - IOF diggulden - 11 Dec 2013 - 16:41:03 - 12255 of 12485 Re the Montana Water permit application. I have found a copy of the environmental assessment that was completed. This goes to show the level of planning that has gone into this water application and makes it all official I guess. The important bits: 'The pipeline is proposed to be constructed in the fall of 2013 or spring of 2014 once all water permits are acquired. The pipeline would be used on a year around basis to transport water to the fresh water depot.' 'The volume of water to be transported would be approximately 80,000 barrels of water per day (BPD).' 'they have received authorization from the other landowners (private) in which the pipeline would cross' Gives some written confirmation to something we have only heard about so far. | ![]() diggulden
13/12/2013 11:16 | noli....I couldn't agree more, a ridiculous over reaction, if the water business is non-core. I just feel that this kind of reaction is brought about by unrealistic expectations and enthusiasm being written here, and words spoken at investor presentations, which leads people on, so that they then panic at the slightest sign of any hiccup. It isn't the water news in itself that is the problem today, but the feeling of loss of credibility. Anyone who believes in the WHOLE story and prospects of IOF would feel maybe a bit disheartened, but not as shocked as some. My feeling of being led along on a piece of string has mainly been brought about by comments made at meetings with PIs, and at AGMs, where the water permit was inferred to be a certainty. | ![]() worraps
13/12/2013 11:16 | noli - precisely. Buying opportunity earlier which I thought we'd never see again. Re Water, always read the small print. | orslega

13/12/2013 11:09 | I am unsure why people are expecting an rns on water, what is currently happening is just part of the process. It could be as simple as some acreage numbers need amending or a Right of Way just needs updating. If the final review needs amendments then the reviewer will have no option but to deny it, which then gives IOF 15 days to respond. Its all part of the process. Talk about an over reaction today. | ![]() noli

13/12/2013 11:00 | For me some news on the water front was essential. Pity it was bad but the uncertainty was playing on the market and the gradual drift down would have continued followed by a similar sharp drop on the actual news. So better for it to be out. I also agree with others that there is unlikely to be enough downside from here for Ennismore to keep their short going. This was probably the main reason behind the short. The water permit application news sent the share price higher, so there was something in the price for it. There was an issue with the water anyway about what company is IOF. It's now clearer and the message should be much simpler. The company looks much more like a growing company with a niche focus now and unique technology now. There is still some uncertainty about delivery of the plan, but in the longer term, the removal of the water distraction should provide more focus and may actually benefit the real business plan. It will only take a sensible IMS to clear the remaining uncertainties and allow potential investors to make informed decisions about whether they want in. As long as all is as it should be, there is a real chance of a rapid recovery. I have picked up a few more this morning as the record production RNS, while not being clear, says to me things are not going badly on the Iodine front. | frog1
13/12/2013 10:59 | Rest assured £1 is coming. The behaviour of the rampers here is absolutely disgraceful. They should now shut up and admit that they have been misleading gullible punters with their ridiculous predictions. | shonny
13/12/2013 10:37 | Roboben, the next RNS or no pre Xmas RNS could see the 100 pence onslaught if they are as bad as the recent ones. Ennismore don't seem to be in any hurry to close and can't say I blame them but such an onslaught would give them an opportunity to close, I do also wonder if they may be getting help from an unexpected quarter? | ![]() brhukatee
13/12/2013 10:33 | You have to laugh at someone who is 10x leveraged on AIM shares quoting warren buffet about patience in the stock market the brass balls on him are something to behold | warrensearle
13/12/2013 10:28 | Good to see the old war horse is out in force mentions of warren buffet and ASOS in the same post the old classics | warrensearle
13/12/2013 10:28 | brhukatee - I don't think you'll see it go lower. After the panic selling there has been a lot of powerful buying to drive the bounce. Some big buys included. I suspect that the low is in now. I have to admit that it's held up better than I had expected. Not that I thought a bigger fall was warranted, just that I thought that market sentiment was so poor towards this company that I half expected to get closer to 100 this morning. Still, that hasn't happened and, as I said at the start, I don't think it will now. | roboben
13/12/2013 10:21 | joeblogg2 11 Dec'13 - 12:02 - 122340 .... considering the huge volatility this morning, whether it was a short attack or the mms trying to force some sales ....... I just hope Scrutable is right and this is the next ASOS ....... May I remind posters of Warren Buffet's aphorism that "the stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient. " I have bought IOF at all levels from 18p to 220p and have lost more money from shorter's spikes than on any other share. Luckily I went in big time into XAR in Sept this year and have made enough in 3 months from a 70% rise geared x10 times to pay for my dalliance with IOF. Though I don't know what the moral of that is... ...but I am still utterly convinced that the volatility will die down as soon as we get satisfactory RNSs about IO#3/4/5 (and I believe of out performance) and that the gigantic potential of IOF will become clearly visible again to the simplest of investors and that an ASOS future still beckons up to/until someone makes a plausible bid and the hopelessly muddled like Geof Ploen make the bad mistake of selling out. Muddled and mistaken because the profitability of IOF properly run will be exponential for at least 7-10 years, and that until now noone has come up with an alternative and more attractive investment into which to re-invest the proceeds .................... | ![]() scrutable
13/12/2013 10:20 | Baguette - I think Lance will be wanting a lot more than current levels! Within months he'll be able to get it, too. He won't be selling now IMO. Good post earlier, by the way. I think I'd like to make a distinction between the board under CF and the board under GL. I'd be inclined to agree with your criticism of the former but I'm not so sure about the latter. It's too soon to tell as far as I'm concerned. Trust has undoubtedly been damaged, but I like the cut of GL's jib and I think he deserves more time before we're too damning of him. | roboben
