Festario - post 7596

Take it or leave it, my friend.

"Strangely quiet". I've no need to add unnecessarily to the relentless clamour on this board.

The Intermediate Term signals evolved for my personal guidance are designed to presage junctures in price movements of likely use for investment rather than trading. The last signal continues to look good for that purpose.

You may like to notice that following the I.T. Sell signal anticipated, registered on 24 May and explained in some detail here at the time, price meandered higher till 12 June, when the fox eventually raided the chicken coop with a 'Key Day Reversal' on higher volume, followed by much alarm and despondency.

The converse is now happening. My I.T. Buy signal registered on 16 August, just 7 trading days ago, with price meandering slightly lower since.

When a footballer boots the ball upfield or into the net, he draws his leg back first.

I may post in future on the TA thread set up by SG for that purpose, but it's increasingly obvious that it's a waste of valuable time. Yes, I've studied, developed and benefitted from Technical Analysis since the 1960s and am glad to pass on anything I've learned which may be useful to others, in return for the occasional "news" or "unearthing" of "facts" about IOF amongst the repetitious babble. But I don't have to and if it's meaningless I'm happy to desist.

Roboben, sorry missed your post, been out. According to TDWaterhouse the next interrims are on the 17th september. However TDW can be a bit sketchy with dates. Are IOF obliged to inform the market in advance when they will release interrims? Many companies do.

"they'd better not be late or the share price could get hammered again."

Welcome back Roboben. Your second comment is almost as amusing as your first. An exclamation mark would have really had me on the floor!

Worraps - I don't believe in coincidences, the fall in S.P. was precipitated by the resignation of the CEO IMO. I don't believe that we will start to climb back either....until the appointment of a CEO to steady the ship and get hold of the reins and drive us forward again.

Fortunately I get to link up with guys that explain how the system works and at times it seems almost corrupt.

We all say many times, why doesn't the company say this, or say that.

Well sometimes they do try to say things, but there is a mandatory need for a nominated advisor (nomad). They can get draft news and rip bits out then release it. Some things that seem very important to know about, but the nomad will say 'no need'.

We have long said funds really don't like PI's being ahead or well informed. So there are many games that can be played.

Mark my words re this post and watch what happens over the next month or so. If a had a tongue left to bite I would.

Worraps,
Sometimes, there doesn't need to be a reason for a share to rise or fall...no one can predict what a share does in the short term, but the performance of the business will drive the share in the medium to long term.

The first half of the year the share price rose on optimism, since then the company had some hiccups on io2 and the share price has fallen.

I'm not surprised, you have to remember that this is a growth stock, a lot of the share price even at the current price is due to expected growth.

So the share price reflects optimism or pessimism and expectations for growth. Mr Market has swung from optimism to pessimism, I happen to believe that swing is much too low.

When a share breaks down, it takes a lot to get it out of its rut. I am not in the least worried, my main worry is how to accumulate more.

I've seen this so often over the years, right now any significant good news could see a 50p rise on the share in the extreme short term.

Bogg1e - I've been away for most of the summer. Out of internet range and mobile phone switched off, so I'm well off the pace on what's been going on - but I can see that I've missed a lot of angst!

You say interims are 3 weeks away. Has anybody confirmed that for this year? I know it was mid-September last year, but do we have a confirmed date for this year yet?

Given the general state of the markets and the ongoing weakness with our share price they'd better not be late or the share price could get hammered again.

Roll on September .. 2014!

'superg has said that the market and the institutions don't like uncertainty'

Not all large byers or iof holders are institutions.

As I learned last week, certain sectors don't care when the next CEO arrives, it's the business plan they like and all the other sectors iof have in the background.

On that subject I took my eye off the ball re the helium acreage. Weill had gone quiet but now you will find in recent days photo's of them drilling next to IOF's acreage. They talk of developing the Montana prospect.

Bo Sears is the one guy that has be well ahead in the US re the pending issue re helium.

Just type Bo sears and Helium and you will see there are a number of articles very recently on the web.

If they are now developing the prospect for helium, that will mean interest in IOF's helium acreage.

Well, I am long term, at least my optimism is. I feel confident that 2014 should be a tremendous year.

Because I think the potential here is so good, it's that that feeds my exasperation! I wasn't one of the ones who got in here at 20p or so. I did get some at 65p - 70p ish, but I bought an awful lot at well over 200p, June time I think.

I could rest easier if I knew WHY we continue to drop, and so far, too!

All the speculation out there is saying that there's going to be lots of good news soon. Water, CEO, interims, etc.etc. Well, if we feel that, then 'out there' would be anticipating it too, I would have thought. As I said earlier, the institutions will be much better informed of what's coming than any of us.

superg has said that the market and the institutions don't like uncertainty, and they won't be buying while there's no CEO, as Lance has left a big hole in the BOD. On the other hand, he recently said that not having a CEO, isn't too worrying, as the progress of plant roll out will still be happening as planned.
Contradictions!

superg has also said that the fall was due to a supply that "is, or nearly, finished". Well, that was some time ago now, and still no let up in the shareprice fall.

superg has also said many times that the announcement of the new CEO is due "very shortly". That again was some time ago,.....so where is that announcement?

The downbeat AGM statement has also been blamed for the shareprice fall. Again, that was some time ago, plenty of time for recovery in the price.

I know I must come across as a right old whinger, but it's the never ending predictions that don't come true that are causing the exasperations with many, I feel.

Ansana, superg, Captain_Kirk, etc. are now all predicting exciting things just around the corner, and that things are "progressing", (Ansana's favourite word), well. I'd like to believe that, and also that a lovely north facing straight line right up the chart is just around the corner too.

Superg,
The chemical division I'm sure will be good, I'm just not sure that all shareholders expectations for the results are realistic right now.

The current share price is at odds with prospects over the next year, I.e. a bargain to me.

I like the pessimism on here, it makes me more bullish ;-)

PS oil prices rising will just incentivise our oil partners to continue investing in the region, I'm sure the US government is pleased with their declining dependency on the Middle East, unlike the UK....

See can't get a figure out of them. I've quoted mine, with confidence.

As AT says.

'watch this space'

I'm with che long term (other than Che may not understand the strength of the chem div), and I see little relevance to what the chart says or is doing to re 6 8 or 10 plants over the next 6 to 12 months by mid next year. Then pods and potentially water revenue to add

With up to io6 already starting it's build and maybe even cutting the turf re io7 and 8 to start pre year end. What's the issue.

You could pick Beowulf which just showed their revenue as zilch, Zero, Nowt.

IMO the chem div results will show decent growth.

an amusing analogy. Its a traders share until interrims, 3 weeks today. Not long now. Im more concerned about Syria atm, the psychos who run this world are really pushing for WW3, add to that a spike in oil, coupled with increasing debt and this could push the markets down considerably. Whether IOF would be immune from such a fall remains to be seen, but sadly geopolitics is rearing its foul, toxic, ugly head again.

Warraps,
If you're here for the long term, the share price shouldn't faze you.

I take a view contrary to some others here, the interim results won't be as good as previously expected, io2 should have been producing twice the output in the last quarter on my expectations, it didn't. That's the past, I expect better news from here on.

If the share price is at this level next month, I will be a buyer.

CCE for anyone? I have 250,000 of these! They own a company called REDT - which appears undervalued. By the way I did buy around the 1.5p mark and they are now over 3p.

hxxp://energystoragejournal.com/review-of-first-uk-energy-storage-event/

"Company co-founder, Sir John Samuel, discussed some performance data from an off-grid pilot for a 30 kWh installation of REDT's technology at a remote base transceiver station (BTS). The company is in the process of developing a utility-scale stack in preparation for a project with UK utility SSE. REDT is getting ready to ride the wave of an ambitious renewables expansion in Scotland, where remote areas in the highlands and islands are limited by a weak grid. In a design study for DECC the company has shown that flow battery energy storage enables around 30% enhanced wind or solar generation productivity in a typical island site."
