Nothing vague there.

They have patented the whole business model of iodine extraction at SWD's. That's the Us stuffed for any other similar kit, looks like Chile and Japan too.

Hydrosorb

Surely that mean water extraction, as io sorb is iodine extraction.

The only thing I can think of that would fit that involves water recycling. Ie clean water one way and the iodine brine concentrate the other.

So now I wonder whether IOF have water recycling kit planned to sell processed water back to the operator.

That or they will link up with an existing recycling company.

It is thought provoking, but OK has a lot of brine and not enough fresh water

SG was this the ping, the patent? We or I assumed it was I03 + and stating the ppms. You are right, there is a lot of document to get through but as its Valid and issued its worth the reading time.

To clarify re Arysta. They were the one's insisting not being named in the rns.

IOF picked up a very good site, kit and a patent collection in that deal.

The combination of the Arysta and IOF patents makes it almost impossible to create any future iodine brine extraction kit while the patents exist. Not that anyone was anyway.

As I said io2 is getting new brine and improved production it's just not in the rns but should have been it seems.

That patent will take some time to read, but it covers a multitude of points.

So much so, it seems to cover the actual business model of iodine extraction from produced brine.

If they get the Us and chile patent on that, then in commercial resource terms most of the worlds commercial iodine brine will be captured in that patent.

Despite the optimism on this thread, reading through the RNS of the last few months, we have a loss of a CEO and a veiled profit warning. Plus a head and shoulders chart pattern. The company needs to communicate its positive story a lot more clearly than it has done in the latest RNS or this is going to get difficult. Growth stocks can't afford to fail to exceed expectations or their sky high multiples come crashing down around them.

I also think we need to be careful about getting too excited about patents. What chemical company isn't loaded with patents? Effective delivery of a growth strategy is the key here, and I'm seeing too many slips.

The company and share price have taken a hammering since Lance stepped down. Now the patent info is out there I think they will have to play catch up. I would be pleased to see the share price stabilise. This is very significant so lets use it together with a new CEO to get back on track.

director bought at 1.50 recently and yesterdays news is over looked production
is going from strenth to strength.

Iofina, specialists in the exploration and production of iodine and iodine specialty chemical derivatives, is pleased to report that production in the second quarter totaled 45 tonnes of iodine paste compared with 17.5 tonnes in the first quarter, largely as a result of an increase in overall plant runtime from approximately 40% to 80%. The Company also recorded a daily high of over 1000kgs in the second quarter compared with a high of 695kgs in the first quarter.

Additional new wells are expected to be drilled and tied in in the coming months.

No one is calling for an rns, IOF said at the AGM the patent is significant and would be rns'd.

It's just a case of PI's here finding it before the news.

Last time on the water permit, it was a scramble and rns'd at 7.55, could be later today, could be Monday, but it will come IMO.

A patent that has such broad coverage is highly relevant. The Us is the iodine brine hotspot of the world. Competition is a risk, and blocks on that is lucrative.

The patent has taken 5 years to achieve, why wouldn't they want to RNS it, it's another milestone for the company and gives their technology a margin of safety.

I agree sparrow and I don't think institutions will be too happy either. The story is good and despite teething problems there is substantial long term value here.I keep thinking back to Jeff P words that CF has a track record of getting the best value out of companies. So far in his 3 or 4 months watch I haven't been impressed at all with him despite being an ex CEO of one of largest listed companies. The sooner we get new CEO on board the better. Give him/her some share options to make it worth their while and off we go again...

Up,

Not everyone is calling for another RNS. Some of us are quite happy letting the company get on with it.
