31/7/2013 09:27 | That will be a massive blow for them once iof sart releasing the plant info and full rollout of next year. As iof have said 8 plants for next year or one every 6 weeks plus the MI's i am sure IOF will be the envy of all in the business. | noli
31/7/2013 09:12 | Jointer Iodine is the one sector they think they can rely on. Can you imagine the squirming when they learn that IOF can go to 1000's of mt in quick time with very low Capex and opex. Ouch. | superg1
31/7/2013 09:05 | sqm...where do they go now...? | jointer13
31/7/2013 08:55 | More on potash and it mentions lithium problems too 'It is very difficult to compete against the low-cost producer,' Oh dear IOF delivering is going to be a monster blow to SQM. | superg1
31/7/2013 08:45 | J Not for SQM it isn't. I the SQM notes I saw a few months back, the importance of the niche sector of iodine was mentioned. They also stated it was the lowest risk of sqm's sector due to scarce commercial resources. After that potash news yesterday it has really enhanced the iodine sector for SQM and others win Chile doing or looking at nitrates while producing iodine. Those SQM analysts understand iodine better than most, so when IOF does pop it's head up, the interest will be strong. Iodine is in so many sectors and is vital for all life. Technology seems to be finding new uses for it all the time. Hence the year on year growth rate. Lithium was strong sector for SQM, but as the analysts say it is in abundance and there other market entrants will appear. | superg1
31/7/2013 08:38 | My friend john says it is all very good too he want the price to go down to buy many more | niardniarb
31/7/2013 08:22 | all sounds good sg. | jointer13
31/7/2013 08:14 | Ansana I have done a lot of digging, there is a general belief in one sector that they are doing exactly what they said they would at the AGM. I.E Improve io1 production. New brine and increased production at io2. Io3 and 4 builds going as planned. Seek out a new CEO. My understanding is that all of the above is on track and in play. I'm sure they could release an rns along those lines. But thinking on the Ceo issue, and maybe io3 close, then they could add any updates into those events. We'll see, but for the benefit of my lot(friends invested) it's all going very well from the digging. | superg1
31/7/2013 08:07 | I note some of the contact made and bits posted. So to add my bit from a number of sources and bit's of info. I expect an update with these details-: Io1 to be on much improved brines and production. Io2 to already be receiving new brine and on increased production rates. A continued trend of higher ppm wells being found. Io3 and 4 builds going very well. They say 60 to 90 days in general and did in the last update say q3 for those. I believe the search for a CEO is well advanced | superg1
31/7/2013 08:06 | I received this as well. I confirmed that as far as IOF are concerned they consider the following to be in the Public Domain and can therefore be posted. Do you anticipate IO3 being commissioned by September or before September? We expect IO3 to be commissioned in the 3rd quarter. IO4 should come online late 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter with IO5 and IO6 in operation by the end of the year. | ansana
31/7/2013 08:00 | Re SQM Iodine overnight has now become their main product. Lithium is good but it is in abundance. Iodine is scarce in commercial terms. The reason for falls on SQM and others. Interestingly Sirocco/Lundin were just about to expand into nitrates and it's in that presentation Iposted. SQM Falls Most in 5 Years in Chile on Potash Cartel End Soc. Quimica y Minera de Chile SA, the country's largest fertilizer producer, fell the most in five years after Russia's OAO Uralkali said it would abandon a cartel that underpinned prices for a principal ingredient. SQM's B shares retreated 14 percent to 16,260 pesos at 11:13 a.m. in Santiago, the biggest fall since October 2008. Trading of SQM's shares in Chile had been suspended between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. by the Santiago exchange. Companies that make the soil nutrient potash tumbled globally after Uralkali, the world's largest producer, said it would exit agreements that limited production. Potash Corp of Saskatchewan, Canada's largest producer, fell 20 percent in Toronto, while Plymouth, Minnesota-based The Mosaic Co. also retreated 20 percent. "This may lead to a price war," Banchile Inversiones wrote in a note posted on its website, saying potash could retreat to $300 per ton from about $392 per ton. "For every $10 per ton drop, SQM's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization could retreat 2.5 percent." I think there are some potash guys on the Aim. | superg1
31/7/2013 07:58 | Nothing has changed at all, i don't know what's changed sentiment apart from the share price being lower but it all going to plan imho. | noli
31/7/2013 05:07 | The market always catches one out, if hoping for a good entry, my experience is many others will be hoping so it doesn't happen. | che7win
31/7/2013 01:30 | bobbyshilling - you want these to return to the support at 150p for Aug 5th, dontcha?! | napoleon 14th
30/7/2013 21:59 | "Is the company allowed to give out updates - price sensitive information - to individual shareholders?" No, it must inform the market via the RNS as soon as practicable, any new information. Old information may be repeated ad infinitum. | n3tleylucas
30/7/2013 21:23 | Plas, you cheeky so-and-so, is that a positive comment? | king_roster_iii
30/7/2013 21:03 | They have only verified what they have already rns'd. (See rns 19/6). | bobbyshilling
30/7/2013 20:52 | Is the company allowed to give out updates - price sensitive information - to individual shareholders? | tompion
30/7/2013 20:33 | Let's get some of these into an ISA first while they are cheap. | bobbyshilling
30/7/2013 20:29 | Is that a prediction madchick? it can not be far away now. Looking forward to a positive rns and good news. | rogerbridge
30/7/2013 19:14 | And let's not forget that things - even PR/information release as well as the share price - have come on apace. May - Jul 2008 = 3 RNSs May - Jul 2009 = 5 RNSs May - Jul 2010 = 5 RNSs May - Jul 2011 = 7 RNSs May - Jul 2012 = 4 RNSs May - Jul 2013 = 13 RNSs Maybe they should release one tomorrow, just to make it 14 :-) | madchick
30/7/2013 18:37 | That's the thing jamonit, if they sold them then someone bought them didn't they? Looks like everything is on track then! | the librarian
30/7/2013 17:30 | Madchick, My main concern is about plant commissioning being on track. Having commissioned plants ramped up to 30,000 Bpd is a different concern and probably relies on a different team of people :-) I'm very reassured by the companies response. | che7win |
