engelo, there is the possibility that they are not (yet), but they probably are. It doesn't matter too much, End of this year and into next year is when the picture really changes.

All the indications? What are you reading? I expect endless delays and production outages, not the contrary.

wilfy it turned a profit this year, we just have to wait for the results to be published in full in spetember.

I expect IO#1-6 to all be installed and comissioned by the end of the year, but I don't expect any substantial revenue from 5 and 6 til 2014.

Is anyone able to let me know when IOF is scheduled to be profitable? I confess that I've got quite a lot invested in this company at the moment (and at present prices are going to sink some more in) - it is by some considerable margin my single largest holding and the cornerstone of my SIPP - but I do not know the answer to this seemingly straight-forward question!

Any help gratefully received!

Many thanks.

Ramu, what is your basis for assuming only three commissioned plants before YE. All indications from the BOD are that IO3 will be commissioned in Sept with IO4 following with 30 days. This gives us 4 operational plants by end of october, minimum. We have also been told that there is every intention to have IO5 and 6 in by YE. Do you have additional information suggesting otherwise? No, i didn't think so. Patience is required here, as things are still on track. We cannot expect interim announcements when things are progressing as per the plan.

Thank you Shonny,
Up 5 since you posted.

The reality is that 'punters' are buying when they get a sniff of 155p, trading range between 155-168p.

It will either go down or go up from here :-)

bobbys: it would cost them nothing to reassure that I01 and I02 are hooked up and running smoothly with the intended brine sources.

My 140p target for this week looks to be on track. All the hype of the rampers is starting to unravel at an increasing rate. Punters baling out rapidly today. 130p on the cards for next week.

Can anyone forecast total production for 2013 and forecast exit run rate at year ends 2013 and 2014. I'm fully aware this has been mentioned many times in the past but in view of recent changes to plant locations etc., I will be grateful for any revised numbers. TIA

Plas, no upset caused. When your exchanges become constructive then I agree this bb will be a healthier place.

KR, we only have 2 plants now and doubt we will have more than 3 fully commisioned at year end. Your run rate of 1200 to 1500 mt - is it based on 6 plants? TIA

Untrue.

I'm not expecting any info on io3/4 for another few weeks yet. The company have already indicated that time scale, so no problem. Any other info re: patent, new CEO, water, could come at any time. There is not a problem here; any problems as far as I can see are 'perceived'.

Talk of a t/o was first raised post the PI meeting in May.

Jeff Ploen as an aside during his presentation stated that it was (imagine the southern drawl) "unheard of for a company producing more than 1000 mtonnes not to get taken out".

We will probably exit 2013 with a run rate between 1200 - 1500 mt. You do the math.

Plas, your constant sniping, based on limited information, is getting boring.

Superg1, I would say that co's are on a hiding to nothing with pr as in the main, most shareholders questions cannot be answered for one reason or another. I have had emails replies from IOF so I personally do not have a problem with the pr side of things, my comment was in that it seemed like a few others had also contacted the co., but to no avail.

Plas, the hype come from Chris Faye stating at the agm that once the books are published in september IOF will be on the radar, i.e a prominent takeover target. Added to which, how often are great small companies allowed to grow organically? At some point they get taken over or merged into a larger entity. That's why a fast rollout is important, it means the actual value of the company grows so fast that a suitor cannot use simple book value to calculate a takeover, it will force them to offer generous multiples over current revenue.

I would take £10 now.

If the company were communicating with me, I would feel less cautious and more inclined to stakebuild.

As it is, I remain largely oblivious to the real potential of the business apart from this excellent board. The wider community also are equally unaware otherwise the share price would be more stable with a wider knowledge base.

The company know what they need to do, maybe its tying up leases, maybe not, I'm just very disappointed in not having a reply.

Where does all this hype about a take-over come from?

Is this just pure speculation to try and get investors excited?

I would just prefer a solid update from the Co. announcing where it is on the roll-out.

Freshvoice: my "e" mail was very polite but remains unanswered. Perhaps they do a random selection!

IMo the single factor overhanging things is the CEO appointment. This can be interpreted in various ways eg 'pleased they're taking time and trouble to find the right person' and 'can see that no-one wants the job'. IOF must want to nail this and news could come at any time.

Water permit is out of IOF's hands but could also come any day.

The hope is that, and that is where a bit of PI pressure will help, that they will RNS completion of the I03 build rather than waiting for commissioning. This would naturally lead to a statement confirming I01/I02 status and I04 progress in a coherent RNS.

The other item due is patent news.

Waiting for 1 piece of news can be stressful, but atm we've got 7 items up in the air, all fairly imminent so no wonder some nerves are twitching a bit.

Scrutable, unless the 25% of PIs can reach some kind of solidarity and say no to a takeover then we will have to accept the price accepted by the BoD and major shareholders. Given that this share has traded at 50 times forecast 2013 earnings, then to take the $200,000,000 x 50 = 10,000,000,000/127,284,000 = $78 per share. Sweet. but that would also make the company extraordinarily expensive, could even Dow afford to buy IOF at that price per share. A buyer would need many billions, not just a couple, and what company has got that much?

there are many investors who would regard a £10 bid as their dreams come true.

To them I repeat:

1) An agreement to sell at that price would be to make THE BIDDER'S dreams come true.

2) If by some unusual flair of negotiation a price much above £10 could be agreed, there is nowhere, anywhere in this world where anybody could find a comparable return from the funds received than from IOF during 2014/15/16/17...

3) Somewhere there may well be a raw material in universal, stable demand, with wide applications, like iodine, which can be sold on the spot market for more than x6 times the cost of mining or otherwise producing, but I have not heard of it - in particular a material noone else can produce for less than three times the cost pertaining at IOF.

So be careful what you wish for and don't see an idiot every time you look in the mirror for the rest of your life.
