28/6/2013 16:08 | If they want a MBO they can have my shares no problem, there 8 pound each lol | nevmyers
28/6/2013 16:04 | Up pomp Now a MBO! What an idea, So the crummy RNSs and director buying are all part of a conspiracy? It will take a lot of director buys like today to get there. LOL! | freshvoice

28/6/2013 16:03 | Bogg1e, What do you mean by "results from the Annual Report"? The Annual Report was uploaded onto the website about 3 weeks ago. Although I'm still annoyed the Interims from 2012 are not yet up there! Rule 26! | n3tleylucas
28/6/2013 16:00 | Thanks, skylite. I totally agree, any cheap offer now would be laughed out of the boardroom, and as you say, we are so on the brink of company changing progress, the moment has probably passed. It was still interesting that superg put the point forward though....perhaps I just misunderstood what he was implying. I'm really quite surprised I've been accused of whining today, incessant too. Maybe that's just how I come across, when I'm making observations. It's not intended that way. Perhaps I'm just an irritating person by nature! | ![]() worraps
28/6/2013 15:58 | skylite - cheap is relative. This is peanuts to some companies. I see no stakebuilding though just the usual volatility after a drubbing while it tries to find a new range. I'm surprised no one has mentioned an MBO. Now a low price would benefit that! | ![]() uppompeii
28/6/2013 15:54 | The Medici.....er, incessant whining? Sorry, I'm puzzled.....where am I whining, I'd really like to know! If you would be so kind as to point me in the direction of where it is, I'd like to read it, really I would. Just give me the numbers of the incessant whining posts.....thanks. | ![]() worraps
28/6/2013 15:53 | Worraps do not fret, if any company wants to buy Iofina now they will not be getting it on the cheap, they moved on from that position some time back. Remember what we have; even if an offer came in in q3 (it won't) we will have Io2 at greater productivity (we know what sg expects from this), 3 and 4 in place pretty much, 5 and 6 being built. Perhaps patent granted, water permit stamped. leases for 2014 signed up, future contracts and orders tied up for IoC, mobile units in designed and build phase with sites earmarked. It's also worth bearing in mind that with such game changing potential for the big Iodine players, if one put an offer in would it be prudent for the others to sit by and watch the action unfold? I think not and a bidding war for Iof could see the share price move North rapidly. It is my view, and others far smarter and closer to the action, that a low ball cheap offer will not take Iofina out. As somebody else pointed out what cheap is to one person may well not be to another but there you go. All of the above is only my opinion. | skylite
28/6/2013 15:48 | I'm looking for 141 to buy so i can get my average down a bit from over 2 pounds, so don't worry it wont drop below 141.1 lol | nevmyers
28/6/2013 15:46 | worraps, exactly. SG1 also said that results from the annual report would be out q3 but i swear he mentioned july, but i cant find any reason why iof would issue a report in july. Theres no rns from july last year after the annual report. Anyone know anything? | ![]() bogg1e
28/6/2013 15:45 | worraps: you do yourself and others here no favours with your incessant whining. It just attracts the wrong sort of attention. | ![]() the medici
28/6/2013 15:42 | I seem to remember that superg said last week, that an 'interest' would be shown in IOF in the near future, much sooner than anyone was expecting. I think that thought threw alot of people into a bit of a pickle, as most of us don't want any talk of takeover, or 'interest' for a long time yet, as we won't get to see all the potential in the shareprice first, and they would be getting us on the cheap. I still feel something very odd is happening out there, and it's not all to do with SBs, margins, spreadbets or the like. Just look at the trades, I've never seen this type of activity before, and I've been here a while. | ![]() worraps
28/6/2013 15:39 | Bear in mind it's bounced Jam. The instis are still sat there hoovering up anything which hits the offer, they're just not fighting each other for shares like they were a few weeks back. EDIT: haha, says it all. When I posted that I was referring to the bounce back to 144 :) | testuser123
28/6/2013 15:21 | Good call Engelo - option 1 looks like the easiest one to go with (handling issues with hydrazine notwithstanding). In terms of other derivatives I doubt there's much scope beyond other iodide salts. None of the others look to have a massive market though. As fas as I can tell the agriculture and animal nutrition markets pretty much exclusively use KI. Anything involving organics would IMHO be too dangerous to do onsite. | testuser123
28/6/2013 15:19 | Blimey. Down nearly 7% now - Scruts have you been stopped out again? | ![]() wayneduncan
28/6/2013 15:13 | testuser: re HI manufacture: "The industrial preparation of HI involves the reaction of I2 with hydrazine, which also yields nitrogen gas.[2] 2 I2 + N2H4 → 4 HI + N2 When performed in water, the HI must be distilled. HI can also be distilled from a solution of NaI or other alkali iodide in concentrated phosphoric acid (note that concentrated sulfuric acid will not work for acidifying iodides as it will oxidize the iodide to elemental iodine). Another way HI may be prepared is by bubbling hydrogen sulfide steam through an aqueous solution of Iodine, forming hydroiodic acid (which is distilled) and elemental sulfur (this is filtered). H2S +I2 → 2 HI + S Additionally HI can be prepared by simply combining H2 and I2. This method is usually employed to generate high purity samples." Sure we can trust IOF to have selected the best method. The first alternative sounds straightforward and more importantly only Nitrogen byproduct so again no waste problem. wonder if any other derivatives can be made at the plants? | engelo

28/6/2013 15:01 | Bogg1e, You've had 9 RNS's in 17 trading days. The 1st of those 9 saw the share price hit 249.75. No news is good news? lol Interims Sept? Yeah, was last year, 17th ... so any directors who want to buy should be thinking about it anytime soon, bearing in mind the 2 month close. | n3tleylucas
