24/6/2013 08:13 | More grief for the poor rampers today 180p. | shonny
24/6/2013 08:11 | Thank you john.... good to see a balanced overview from an experienced chartist. | the librarian
23/6/2013 22:35 | John - many thanks | dcgray21
23/6/2013 22:23 | dcgray21 This is the only chart I can produce and it's in direct answer to your question. The upper horizontal one in red (circa 170) is a possibility. The other IMO is not! Last chart post for now. | johncsimpson
23/6/2013 22:21 | Discount square1s posts at your peril imo, hes forgotten more about the stockmarket than most of of will ever learn. | pwcarnall
23/6/2013 22:14 | Next support? Well there's a bloody major one between 169 and 170. You do not wanna go below that for a couple of days! lol ... | n3tleylucas
23/6/2013 22:12 | johncsimpson, | n3tleylucas
23/6/2013 22:08 | I can see the same old questions go around in circles here, the volumes thing ppm's calculations and lot's of wrong answers and assumptions. However as I said very recently, I have no intent of doing deep research re the iodine side anymore, and don't feel the need to explain the same things over and over. IMO, as IOF said we will ping the radar short term. I'll just sit and watch. I tend to agree with Square1 but for different reasons. The subjects are going off in all directions on very basic points that have been covered many times before. Looking at names it seems we may have an influx of new investors, or engagement by some who have been sitting silently watching. Can't see the wood for the tree's on here at the moment. | superg1
23/6/2013 22:05 | John ....if we fall tomorrow where would the charts indictable the next support level to be ? | dcgray21
23/6/2013 22:00 | I've spent a lot of the past 20 years charting. I've had arguments galore here on ADVFN (mostly on the AVN thread) about their validity. I do not want to go down that route with fellow posters here on IOF. I've posted a chart on this thread once post 1454 10th June in pique at N3L's effort about an hour or so earlier on that same day, as he offerred no explanations. I offered to come back later and add 'some flesh to the bones' but as there was no encouragement, I didn't. I found Titus 10's post 2825 on 21st June interesting and I have now uploaded an up to date chart for IOF and offer my views. I have re-uploaded the original chart followed by last Fridays. Fear not, this will not become a habit. The two circles indicate price gaps. The second (bigger one) indicated a gap that might have needed to be filled. Gaps are not always filled but this one now has. (As did one on my Igas chart which I noted on the Tipster's thread on 7th June about an hour before it happened and immediately reversed). There is a resistance line from early February that became support in late March (the highest solid blue line). The price subsequently reversed only to quickly re-emerge up in the first week of May. A new upper resistance line was created but has played no part save not being broken in an upwards direction. There are three lower dashed lines on the latest chart currently exiting between approximately 200 and 220. The lowest of these was also on the first chart but at that time had no immediate significance and I stopped projecting it (about mid-March). Each of these were likely reversal / bounce 'areas' but all failed. IMHO, with my chartist cap on, we are now at a key place i.e. at the bottom (give or take) of that gap which Is indicated as a light green channel. Should IOF continue to fall during the day tomorrow, well . . . . As for a lot of the other posts this weekend I do sense an air of 'we're all in this together so let's pull together in the same direction'. Charts / fundamentals apart, the 'boat' is clearly in choppy waters . . . . Tomorrow will be interesting. added - Shares do not go up in straight lines. Falls are inevitable, for instance Cupid has lost 65%+ since January though some still champion it. | johncsimpson
23/6/2013 21:39 | "Only my view of course, but I am never happy seeing people lose money;" This has fallen 24.23% in just 9 trading days. I'm delighted to see some people lose money, and rather sad to see others down. Funny eh? How we can have opposite emotions about the same event. Oh well, let's see what happens next eh. | n3tleylucas
23/6/2013 21:15 | I think there is too much emphasis being put on the delays. Management sometimes have to change things as they go along and see fit at the time. At least they are keeping us informed, and the suggestion is that the delays which are occurring now - don't forget we are only talking a couple of months - are because we will have better production of iodine in the future. We will easily make up for lost time very quickly. The 'panic' is because the share price has gone down (by quite a lot in a short timescale), and people are looking for reasons why, and although understandable, we should be careful, and focus on what we know instead of speculation. Easier said than done if you are watching a paper profit going up in smoke, (I am too, but it is a paper profit unless one sells, which one is perfectly entitled to do, regardless of any comments or hassle from BBs). But I am with Scrutable here; I think he is talking a lot of sense re: the share price and what the company is/can be, and achieve given time, really worth. This is the best opportunity I have seen for a long time. The market is hard to comprehend, but the facts which we are privaledged to know because of the excellent research by some here, and the co-operation of the IOF management, should not be forgotten or dismissed so easily. Only my view of course, but I am never happy seeing people lose money; ignore the idiots who post without foundation to their comments, investing is tricky enough as it is, but maybe we should all take a step back and see what we really have here, even relatively short term, and not concentrate so much on blips and spikes with the share price | bobbyshilling
23/6/2013 20:26 | Warrensearle: thanks for taking one thing off the worry list! Perhaps said lightheartedly and I just didn't read it that way. Maybe we'll get a 'crop harvest completed' RNS :-) | engelo
23/6/2013 20:09 | Bogg1e we aren't talking great swathes of land. We should let others talk about more substantive matters to do with IOF if they wish to. | ansana
23/6/2013 19:44 | ansana, crops have been under pressure in the states. This is driving up the price of food which you and i, but sadly not others can still necessarily afford. Let people eat! Its only a couple of weeks out. | bogg1e
23/6/2013 19:35 | Hit I feel confident is saying that we are no longer under the radar. Engelo I know what you mean I still can't square this in my mind. When the company will make so much money per week when the plant is up and running why not negotiate for loss of income with the landowner so they can get on with the build. I am sure that the landowner could have been handsomely compensated. Like you I appreciate the need for consideration of others and good PR but...... | ansana
23/6/2013 19:20 | Engelo the delay for the crop planting is over. Re the drilling delays - I asked him afterwards and he said no more than 2 weeks production delay for each brine producing well that is drilled | warrensearle
23/6/2013 19:05 | ansana: (2590) on a quieter subject you mentioned the delay to I03 caused by the landowner/farmer wanting to harvest his crops. Had the following thoughts in quick succession: a. Could be very good PR in keeping on the right side of those who are in a similar position. Presumably IOF now own the land and are simply doing the farmer a favour. b. But why even mention anything like this? CF didn't put any time limit on it (as he also declined to put a time limit on the drilling interruption). c. More seriously, this is on IOF's critical path, where every week counts. How on earth could this not have been foreseen, and quietly sorted ahead of time???? | engelo
23/6/2013 18:58 | IOF response on presentation availability: "Unfortunately, we cannot send presentations electronically per request from our NOMAD. Each country has different distribution laws and we have no way of verifying a recipient's country of residence. Regards," ++++++++++++++++++++ Above in reply to my email: Dear Sir/Madam, I am trying to access any recent Iofina presentation but cannot find any (current or historic) at hxxp://www.iofina.co Thanks in advance. | chr1sjs
23/6/2013 18:52 | I remember someone saying IOF are going to be world leader in producing iodine, but when asked at the AGM well they say no. Whats that all about "staying undre radar". | hitsha3
23/6/2013 18:34 | Scrutable re: presentation I think it is due to the commercially sensetive info contained within the pack and they didn't want it public for competition to see...I seem to recall another poster asked the company that very same question recently. P.S. Watch your margin this week!! | supreme mo
23/6/2013 18:31 | This BB sometimes becomes very intence, I think becuase we have so much invested, exaracabeted by we all so have some very substantial profit riding on this company. While I belive the BOD missed a trick, I do worder why. ! On reflection, it is a bit like noises off the play about a play. I have great respect for Superg1, and see him in this analogy as author, and critic. I always get more from his comments than the BOD. He has a greater understanding of the central themes than anyone. IG and others are just not up to date. Noises off, they are playing the characters, Superg has the measure of the plot.. Just musing. Down 18 months of profit in 10 days.. More beer please.. | beercapafn
23/6/2013 18:10 | Hit SG isn't Mystic Meg. Surely that wasn't a serious question. | ansana
23/6/2013 18:07 | Battery, thanks, I wondered if that may be the case; therefore even better iodine figures. | bobbyshilling
23/6/2013 18:04 | Nobody is going to takeover this company anytime soon. The topic is conveniently timed and introduced to coincide with a falling share price. The disguise of deep research will fool many. Funny how such a deep & dedicated researcher (sic) can miss so many blindingly obvious events like targets missed, financial black holes and water kicked into the long grass ... they "were all lies" ... remember? I do. Confidence. | n3tleylucas |
