Been buying and holding since the mid 30's and have done so again this morning. If people can't handle the fear then they need to keep the greed in check.... GLA

Unless there has been a profit warning or a substantiated leak then abreak to the bottom of a rising trend is a buying opportunity.
Only fools buy when a share has gone up to sell when it has gone down, unless they are investing without research.

Yes Dig, one or two... but I was surprised to see WHO they were.
They were previously very positive, supposedly long term 'investors'
I found it amusing at first, and then irritating later.
When one looks at an Intraday chart and panics, it is is wise to then look at the yearly chart, and put the whole thing into better perspective.

'What we must avoid doing'

For what I saw, there were only one or two panicking..... the long termers here have seen it all before.

Keep calm, Iofina is delivering.

On to infinitely more important matters.
IOF is a relatively illiquid company, not that many shares in issue given the potential, and most of those in issue are tightly held.
Institutional holders (and funds) have trigger points at which they are forced to sell their holdings (in part or all) to enable forecasted profits to be ensured.
So we can use this to our advantage.

As the IOF story unfolds, there will be many occasions where a sharp dip in share price is created by a fund needing to offload. If we become aware that it is happening, then there will always be an opportunity to add to our holdings cheaply.
The gap will close, and the price will move back up equally as sharply, as we are seeing now.
What we must avoid doing, is behaving like headless chickens as some were doing on here last night. Perhaps those individuals will get used to seeing regular 7% drops, followed by a rapid recovery.

It is caused by a limited number of shares in issue, and the corporate need to lock in profits. This is actually good news for the likes of us who are not selling.

The board is in danger of being drawn into a bash the filtered people which tells me not everyone has filtered them or if they have they keep peaking. Lets concentrate on what our research tells us and not on the negative rantings of a few. If I have to choose between Sam or JP or the filtered who stalk this board then I will go for Sam and JP, simples

Neddo I don't mind daft or mistaken posts we all do that sometimes it's the malicious that's objectionable. However once they identify themselves I filter them straight into the equivalent of the town rubbish dump.

Johnnyno1 :-) Vectorvest aint purest green or the grail, but it is 45 gbp per month piece of common sense auditing that has prevented me from buying real howlers and kept me focused on the shares that are more likely to go in the right direction. The fact that i can offset the costs against tax is a bonus. Worth trialling it anyway.

Shonny and several others (including our resident Nut-Job) are well known across ADVFN as 'Keyboard Warriors' as SuperG suggests. Cowardly people who are unable to function in the real world.
I have warned about them in the past. In fact, just hop over to the GKP thread where a full list of them is visible in the header.

That's the point of the PBB, it can end that with non subscribers. Best to sound off in private, and use filter.

I once watched a guy who was drunk, and waiting for treatment, saying it was going to punch the f'ing nurse if they didn't hurry up.

I normally step in, but didn't feel the need on this occasion. The nurse had walked out behind the guy to welcome him through for treatment.

The nurse was a man, 7 feet tall, and about 20 stone (nickname 'Tiny'). I'd been doing a mutley chuckle as I watched it unfold.

The nurse spoke politely, the guy turned around still wound up, but for some reason went like a limp puppy, with yes sir's, and no sir's.

Forgot to say, a fall like yesterday and a bit of you wonders if bad news will follow, leaky bucket and all that, but no bad news so I can only conclude that "the market" is cynically playing fast and lose. It's not so much who is selling or being forced to sell but who wants these shares and why. It might be to do with IO3,4, patents, prod update, AGM tomorrow, water, helium, oil, IO5,6. Before you say it SG we don't need the water.

Worraps, you have stronger words, so do I but I am a lady. How about outrageous why dump shares unless your intention is to drive the price down significantly?

Scrutable I have my fingers crossed for you as I do people who have been taken out with stops. A positive update tomorrow and it will be near impossible to get them back in any volume.

Hit good to see you back.
