Yes I am quiet, yes I am just waiting as the juggernaut turns and yes I understand there is happiness. I too am happy.

Please note, if we produce anywhere near 35 MT in May, we will be at or ahead of a 400MT production rate for this year.

As I have said, if we produce ~32MT, we are 50% up on April, which itself was a 30% increase on previous.

32MT+ and I'll be satisfied we are on track for that 400 MT target this year.

Remember, we will have a jump when IO5 and 6 come on stream, the company is also working on getting better brine supply.

What the new managers have achieved in a few weeks is impressive.

Fest

As reported w eek or so back the major supply looked almost done, it was in fact 209k left as of the 15th May.

So the 'alert' was to see if the supply tightened up over the last week or so.

When the supply seems tight and it starts to move, then the buyers arrive and the move is stronger. The tight price around 40p was nice to see, instead of the 15% daily moves that seemed to be going on. That may have stalled the traders, but now we have moved up from there a bit a trading churn will go on.

Any major supply now imo would have to be those taking short positions which is a big risk knowing that production news should be next week, and should be significantly better than April.

On any fall those of that ilk say the chart is predicting doom, so what is it predicting now?

Engelo post 21334 - zero! While my valuation of 1 pound per share for the IP is not scientific, it just strikes me that a patented low-cost industrial process that clearly does work, is only at the start of its period of validity in the US (also pending in our two biggest competitor nations), and clearly with deployment of appropriate capital can make a very decent return on that, must be worth a good 100M to a larger competitor? It will certainly be far in excess of today's 55p anyway...I don't think that's unreasonable considering that we have just seen Apple pay $3BN for what is in effect a marketing ploy!No advice intended DYOR etc

festario,
You have echoed my sentiments entirely, but maybe the glass is now moving to being half full.

1MM, Cyber,I think a lot of the silence is due to the fact that we have all seen these bounce backs before, at much higher levels, only to get shafted soon after. I hope its not like that again, but please remember, encouraging though this looks, when you are £120k down.... a rise of £3k is not that exciting.Let me know when its 125p and I might feel differently.Good luck to all battered and bruised LTH's.

As I remain underwater on this share, I choose not to open my mouth! At an average of 75p, I hope to breathe fresh air before the summer is out.

Quiet is not how I'm feeling :-)) Great move up in advance of 'real' news :-)

News next week on May production and on 'other fronts' imo, setting the scene for the AGM.

Apart from production should be able to define a stable and united BoD which will help sentiment further.

My own view (stated several times in the past) is that the company's IP alone is probably worth a quid per share, with the actual business thrown in for free...Don't forget also that the company has tangible assets worth about 20 mill...NAI

I hear the company is moving forward on all fronts, the share price rise is the give away.

Exciting times with the AGM coming up.

Engelo, sorry, my mistake. That's even better then, so power to IO5 should be sorted by first week of July.

dig (21315) power for I05 60 days (not 90) away from May 6th RNS (full text below). So reasonable to expect I05 to be producing for most of July.

"IO#5 was commissioned during the period following receipt of regulatory approval. IO#5 was unusual and had no start-up issues. The Company was able to prove that the plant operations at IO#5 ran smoothly by the production of iodine and then temporarily shut-in the site. The mobile power generation unit was removed and returned to the local rental firm saving the Company nearly $100,000 per month including rental and fuel costs. Hard power is expected in the next 60 days. Once wired into the power grid, the Company will restart production at IO#5."

Thanks for that update SG.
With iodine prices now making the cost of mineral iodine production "unsustainable" and mining sector now warning of long term damage to their industry lets hope the 150 rule announcement now focuses the likes of SQM to significantly cut back further on iodine production.
To be honest as they are already hurting with rising Opex costs, they cannot control, Iam surprised they have not cut back further before now!
Guess they have been waiting to see who goes out of business 1st!
