20/5/2014 10:00 | Every little helps. Flying blind here as I've been busy the last few days and have not been able to do much research or read posts. Someone has hinted at extra staff or the like at IOF chemical, so I thought I'd spend a while to see if I could find anything that may increase the interests in any IOF product. I have no idea whatsoever if the above will affect IOF, but other data found suggests they may be involved in the supply of a product which should be seeing increased demand right now in the US. Way way back I asked what the non iodine related product was. I hope I'm recalling it right here, but other comments found back it up. The product is Lampreyside or 3-trifluoromethyl-4- IOF reported in news that there was a break in the relevant contract which affected 2013 heavily but that it was back in play at the end of 2013 and fully in 2014. Sea lamprey heavily affect the US fish stocks in lakes. They had tight budgets and now have a significant problem it seems. With action to be taken in the coming months to treat the relevant areas. Thye will be using TFM which is Lampreycide Over the last few years, Ruth has noticed a drastic decline in catch numbers, fish sizes, and diversity of fish caught. In his opinion, there are far too few brown and rainbow trout and too much lake trout, which Ruth said are "greasy, slimy, dirty, don't-fight-well fish." According to Lemon, declines in the catch, especially in 2012 and 2013, were due to lamprey predation on trout and salmon. | superg1
20/5/2014 07:56 | The poor management should be punished (not just sacked) for not telling us anything that was going on or more and more managements will continue to bleed companies and the owners will continue to lose money in this kind of scenario. (I'd like my money back!) | dontshoutatonce
20/5/2014 07:34 | Bob The kicker of course being they would have voted him in first. :-) Any business/organisatio | superg1
19/5/2014 08:52 | Orslega: 290k + I believe :-) edit at say $50 per acre that's $14.5m | engelo
19/5/2014 07:59 | on subject of non core assets, a couple of extracts from Iofina 2011 Accounts - published on 25th May 2012 "Expressions of interest in the Bakken/Exshaw and Three Forks horizons under our acreage position in Montana" "Deep Zone Potential We have completed an exploration evaluation of the deeper horizons under our current acreage position, specifically the Bakken/Exshaw, Three Forks and Sawtooth horizons. The shale thickness, especially in the Three Forks, is encouraging for reasonable production of oil. The recent activity in the Williston Basin to the east of the Group's acreage and current drill activity to the west and north have created greater interest in our large acreage holding. The relatively high risk associated with this exploration play demands that, prudently, we seek a partner for any potential development of these deeper rights. We are actively marketing the deeper horizons" hxxp://www.iofina.co So 2 years on after expressions of interest, some O&G outfits will still have this on their radar. As activity increases in the area it can only be good for Iofina. Even though Iofina own a very large acreage (250 + acres) it costs very little to sit on it :) | orslega
19/5/2014 06:20 | Also as the area is explored the fracking knowledge and understanding only improves. Thus the amount of oil that would be extracted from iof's area would increase. | 1madmarky
18/5/2014 20:25 | 1MM Just sit on it imo. Just to the West some are drilling the Nisku, Just to the East Montana Exploration are exploring what the call the shaunavon. Southern Montana below IOF exploration is going on there too. Then Weil checked the Nisku too right next to IOF then did another random well way East on the Nisku. The area IOF are in is virtually unexplored at the depths of the Nisku, 3 forks and Devonian. Then there is the Niobara which is thought to contain wet gas. We don't want a Gordon Brown gold sell off situation, if they don't have to. Within a year some of those exploring should be giving it the thumbs up or not. | superg1
18/5/2014 20:19 | Fully agree - the water rights issue has yet to be resolved and the oil aspect under researched . Hopefully iodine production will trend up and cash flow improve. | mister big
18/5/2014 19:21 | Yes, why sell now it's not like it's going anywhere and the price of oil is unlikely to go down. Best to wait until iof is in a stronger financial position so that there are more options open to them. | 1madmarky
18/5/2014 17:49 | Recently just over the border into Canada above western Montana an oil company posted 2 very impressive 3 forks results. Just 18 mths to 2 years ago the USGS thought the 3 forks was charged with water not oil. Continental resources had been telling them otherwise and have been way ahead on the 3 forks interest. Continental put some high figures out there for the 3 forks aiming rather high on reserves and recoverable oil. Now tests have been done they show that it appears to be higher than they thought. Worth a read. Personally I want IOF to hang onto the 3 forks acreage for as long as possible while others around them seem to be pursuing it and getting great results. It is a play literally only a couple of years old in terms of exploration. It was only last May when the USGS admitted it's charged with oil not water. | superg1

17/5/2014 09:15 | Rim, Iodine trending up these last few months, even with us supplying internal demand only, we have taken 300-400 MT out of global demand from the other suppliers. | che7win
17/5/2014 08:25 | Wow, whoever it is that posts as maca1212 on the other thread really has an unhealthy obsession with finding long winded ways of bashing Iofina. Quite odd for someone who claims to have "no axe to grind" or no financial interest in the company. I'm all for reasoned debate but that is just silly. Now filtered...should have done that along time ago! | tim3416
17/5/2014 07:55 | That's true on Manx but the bank need to be refinanced at the time of the 2008 crash - capital ratios are now among the strongest of any bank and we are profitable . The loan book is growing on a fixed cost base , I'm expecting very good results as the deferred income unwinds into income . Importantly we have a totally clean balance sheet ! | mister big
17/5/2014 00:12 | Whilst we are having a ramp-fest, Just buy GVC..... what's not to like about that? I own 0.1% of GVC, and 0.1% of IOF.... I know which has served me best this last 4 years. However, like all things, the tide will surely turn eventually. | festario
16/5/2014 23:21 | Mister big, There are a lot of warrants in MFX... | che7win
16/5/2014 22:51 | Btw - I might add buy Manx financial - The income is bursting upwards with profits moving up and the shares very tightly held ! | mister big
16/5/2014 22:37 | Curiously netley we found a violet diamond in the newslands mine ( Kimberly ) , so no need for any diamond purchases - a violet diamond is incredibly rare and we await with interest to see what it looks like when polished . The four mines pump out 224,000 carats a year , so not over worried about my cash flow yet ! The insurance business recorded profits of 9m Largest shareholder in Manx financial (and by the way if anyone reads the accounts look for deferred income which foreshadows actual income ) profits rolling upwards ! Southern Rock records £8.7m post-tax profit in 2013 Emmanuel Kenning | Insurance Age | 12 May 2014 | 09:35 GWP up 7% to £74.8m. Southern Rock Insurance has reported £8.7m post-tax profit for the year ended 31 December 2013. So, I did my research on iofina , iodine , cash flows and the business as usual And believe it's undervalued and the Montana site alone is worth millions - I think the management will get a grip and move the business forward . Oil and gas a real prospect in that neck of the woods . And yes , I'm sure my wife will buy a nice house in Tuscany with the 4m !! If not blow it on Chanel! Lol, netley , I have a spare ticket for wolf of Wall Street if you want to join me you'd would be most welcome ! A | mister big
16/5/2014 15:52 | I see that Tetley has posted 4 times, is that what sticky keys means? Or is it the death throws of a shorter who has a nasty feeling the games is up so they become more and more manic with their posts. Tetley do yourself a favour and accept that the company is no longer moving in a direction of your choice. The company is once again in safe, competent hands. | ansana
16/5/2014 14:56 | Hey Arron, what you gonna do with yer wife's 4 mill eh? lol fancy yellows or whites? | n3tleylucas
16/5/2014 14:50 | Some will query my fast acceptance of bogg1e1's response? I like him and yes he knows how te get the best out of me. Plus, there's a possibility this could be new. Now I'm not saying this because anyone's PM'ed me, because they haven't. Just a bit of trust... and maybe a bit of hope in my poster-judgement? lol (SUCKER? lol) | n3tleylucas |
