In addition to Bobsworth's wishlist, might I add:

a. Clarity about the price being achieved by IOF for Iodine.
b. Clarity about actual achieved not theoretical sales volumes today and achievable prospective volumes when 5 and 6 fully operational.
c. More detail about costs.

It is still incredibly difficult to get a sense of the current run rate profitability. Everyone can get excited about the potential but it would be good to understand the here and now profit position of the company.

If it meant fully ramped up from get-go, I would have thought that would have gone in the body of the RNS as it would be a significant claim and I would have thought they would have put bbpd numbers in as well. I am going to stubbornly say that it isn't full production (yet!). Today's song: "reasons to be cheerful (1, 2, 3, 4, 5...)"

Oh, and while I am in a cantankerous and disagreeing mood, I'll also disagree with superg that it is nice to have a rest with nothing visible happening for a while after IO.6. Up to now they have managed to tweak whilst pressing ahead with other plants (ostensibly). Although I appreciate the need to have a clear strategy, and they may even need the time to consolidate finances, I'm not so happy with the "dead" period. But maybe they are allowing a space to slot commencement of the water business in should it happen... Anyway, I can't see Lance letting everyone just sit on their bums and chat about the business for 3 months.

I think the regulatory approval related to the handling of the commercial iodine product once produced. If that was the case, my guess is they could have been tweaking the plant behind the scenes, just a guess though.

Best wishes - Mike

OH, just seen it in Lantz's comment "full-scale production operations "

I'm still not convinced that this means no ramp up required - I kind of assumed it meant "all systems go" in the sense that full ramp up would start (but would still take a little while to get there). I hope I'm wrong, but either way, a good RNS!

I can't see in the RNS where it says "full production"?

"Production operations commenced immediately upon such approval on 11 April 2014."

I'm very happy with the RNS - very well worded, positive, clarified that production would start immediately. I still expect there to be some time for ramp up??

Soggy

Just the messenger but a result either way on that topic is anticipated this month. Awarded or off to hearing being the options.

Nice to see 5 up and running. IO6 looks near done too.

Although the number of plants have been reduced for this year, I find it a bit more relaxing to have a break instead of chasing the next plant game, questions re completion times and so on.

It will be nice to get the 6 sorted, and just spending some time tweaking away getting those producing well, and then they have a good foundation to move on.

Not great for Chile once more but it's best to keep an eye on what is going on. There may be some export disruption due to a forest fire which also hit the port city of Valparaiso

Hopefully we'll see a full month from IO6 during this quarter followed in very short order by the assault on 1000 tons p.a. run rate.

5 plants producing iodine....nice

"George Lantz, CEO and President of the Company, commented: "Our production teams have already started full-scale production operations at both plants and are pleased to be producing iodine at these state-of-the-art facilities. This brings the number of plants currently in operation and online to five plants, a 150 per cent increase over the fourth quarter 2013."

naphar good point - of course many of IOF RNS's made reference to continued improved technological and other installation techniques etc on earlier plants - cutting lead time to optimisation : )

Yay! Two moew plants churning out the purple stuff and IO6 on target. Hopefully they can get the approval for IO6 in shorter order this time too.

Excellent news. We should see a good rise here today...

..anyway onwards and upwards..£1 share price within 2 months looks a one way bet imo.... : )

"Have already started full scale production at both plants"

It seems like it has been a long time coming but to have immediately begun full scale production is fantastic news. No ramp up, no testing etc, straight into full production. I hope this is a sign that with Lance back on board things will be getting done properly with no further costly slip ups. Another few positive and announcements like this will be the proof of that. Especially an announcement to say IO6 built and operational, instead of a waiting sign off etc etc. Hopefully a sign of better things to come
