IOFINA PLC

("Iofina" or the "Company")

(LSE AIM: IOF)

Commencement of Production at IO#4 and IO#5

Iofina, specialists in the exploration and production of iodine and iodine specialty chemical derivatives, is pleased to announce receipt of notification for the federal regulatory approval required to produce iodine at the Company's recently completed IO#4 and IO#5 iodine production plants. Production operations commenced immediately upon such approval on 11 April 2014.

In line with the Company's statement on 27 March, construction of the Company's IO#6 plant continues, with completion expected to occur in Q2 2014. Images relating to IO#6's progress can be viewed at www.iofina.com.

The Company will provide shareholders with an update on its first quarter when it releases its results for the year ended 31(st) December 2013, scheduled for the week commencing 21 April.

Iofina's business strategy is to identify, develop, build, own and operate iodine extraction plants currently focused in North America based on Iofina's WET(R) and IOsorb(TM) technology.

George Lantz, CEO and President of the Company, commented: "Our production teams have already started full-scale production operations at both plants and are pleased to be producing iodine at these state-of-the-art facilities. This brings the number of plants currently in operation and online to five plants, a 150 per cent increase over the fourth quarter 2013."

Cool pics, the towers on IO 6 are not connected yet so my guess would be 6 weeks before commissioning can start, so up and running end of May? Hopefully.

After the expected flat 2013 results + impacted Q1 output data, let's hope we see the following in 2014:

1. Those late chemical derivative shipments from 2013 give a significant boost to their 2014 sales.
2. Quarterly iodine output data starts to increase significantly, quarter on quarter, as 6 plants become fully operational and optimised showing a 1,000+ MT company in the making helped with pending mobiles.
3. Iodine prices start to rise as the cuts in iodine output from Chilean mines begin to bite.
4. Raw iodine sales + chemical derivative sales continue to rise as new markets are secured.
5. It's chemical derivative division subsequently expands by moving to a two shift working system.
6. Water rights are finally approved, direct or via appeal, and an affordable plan to implement its roll out is revealed showing good returns.
7. The company confirms that it has become profitable with sufficient cash generation to start expanding again in 2015.
8. Based on its pending review, a self-funding and realistic growth plan comprising of a plant roll out plan for both fixed and mobile is published that avoids winter builds for fixed plant.
9. The company learns from its 2013 mistakes and does not raise expectations that it cannot deliver on.
10. Lance steers the company in the right direction with a focus on detailed planning to avoid future delays in plant roll out and quickly re-builds confidence in the management team, helped with well written and data informative RNS's.
11. A prilling tower is added to their repertoire and the roll out of it's low opex mobiles is a success showing their significant upside for Iofina.
12. The market starts to wake upto Iofina's oil prospects as oil exploration on lands adjacent to Iofina's continue with avengeance.
13. The company demonstrates that it is able to deliver on its business plans by hitting it's production targets and shows it has a very bright future as a low Opex reliable producer of raw iodine and its derivatives.
14. A steady rise in share price with a P/E that reflects their potential.

No game at all Microline - I was invested here and decided to move on as it became clear that management was clearly not delivering and the commerciality of the model came into question. However that said I do believe in the underlying long term story but I invested on hope last year and will not do that again. In that regard, once I see hard numbers I may well buy back in. My tip from last year is absolutely do your own research and do not underestimate the games that are played out on these boards!! Go well

" It is delivering more slowly than some dim wits might like."
No, it is actually delivering more slowly than the BOD promised.

"but until the company give me some hard numbers then the story in my view is far from complete"
I imagine Rikivilla is not the only one waiting for solid figures.

There's no doubt Iofina will become a major player in iodine but let's stick to realistic timelines and not condemn people for being cautious. It will take time for the BOD to win back confidence.

For the record I do own quite a lot of shares.

I don't get it. Why pick on IOFINA. I and everybody else could spend every waking minute corresponding on the threads of every share throughout the world about why we are NOT invested. It's obvious from the contempt you show towards Lance and others you have no intention of investing here. So what's your game?

It is proven that they can extract iodine from the brime streams. As yet it has NOT been proven they can do this on an ongoing commercial basis and until we have some actual production and opex numbers then I will sit on the sidelines. I will be the the first to admit I got sucked into the story and listened to the gang of lance's disciples (you live and learn I hope!!) last year but until the company give me some hard numbers then the story in my view is far from complete and I will watch from the sidelines even if it does cost me a few pence.

Good post bocker. It is proven concept and it is just a matter of how fast they can grow it. Unfortunately over the past year the growth has not been as fast as promised and the share price reflects this. When they have 5 or 6 plants running consistently it will mean they have the cashflow to built the one new plant every quarter originally planned. This quarter is about bedding down production so they can push ahead later in the year.

This company's share price has been going through a transition period. The transition is about whether it can live up to what it promises . Promise to proof. Unlike many AIM stocks, it is hard core because it has moved from promise to proven tech . It is delivering more slowly than some dim wits might like. The fact is that it will grow. Who cares about how long. Lot"s of traders post ...... So what. Long term this business is now real , it's happening , and it's going to change its industry.

The link from Fireball appears to be genuine. Sounds like a rant by David Starkey on Question Time, good stuff. I'd love for El Oro's chairman to write Iofina's RNSs.

Chaps, I think the point not being said but which is relevant to your opinions is this: HONESTY. The BoD was not honest about the fact that the roll out plan was going to fall far short of the expectations the BoD themselves set. Its not setbacks that anger people, all companies have set backs, its the lack of honesty. If the basic plan wasn't so good, I would have walked off in disgust, but i believe in the long term growth story so im still in.

I suppose I should have said it doesn't matter long term re The eventual position. IE the X amount will be reached at some point with X number of plants, it all depends what their strategy is, and there are always factors on play that can turn the current strategy on it's head.

I did say it was my opinion and others will differ.

It was in in reference to those that trade.

I totally agree we would all love these small companies to crack on and meet their timelines. I too tracked SRT and many others. It seems to be a common issue, of not just being weeks or months out, but 5 years plus.

A fave share of mine was supposed to be launching a product in 2006, 8 years later and the launch is still not complete. CRA is another. The list is long.

So based on the above experience I don't worry about a few weeks, but fully appreciate the damage in confidence that can be done by such slips, and the damage to the share price short term.

superg1 - much as I appreciate your & others' input here, & despite the fact that I have more than doubled my stake in IOF at the recent levels, as well as showing a 75% profit on my original stake,

IMHO RM has a point.

What's more, I'm tired of hearing that "whether it's 2 weeks, 4 or 6 or more isn't really relevant to those building long term". Say that often enough & you'll be saying "whether it's 20 weeks, 40 or 60 or more isn't really relevant to those building long term"!

YES IT IS!

I am a LTH & have seen what the lack of solid confirmed evidence can do to share price ......
in 40 weeks!

And yes, it does matter when your pf valuation drops by 20% as a result of this.
All investments have to earn their keep to be rated as "good".
Others in this category are MOS & SRT, for eg. Although not losses, they've taken back a huge %age of their price rise & defo are not the "stars" they were cranked up to be.
