Roger can you clarify the source of the rumour?

Frog. It's hardly true to say there is a complete absence of buyers this morning. Some big buys earlier.

what would be your opinion if Lance Baller were to return as Chairman (strong rumour that this is about to happen) and how would you expect the market to react? I understand your other concerns but if the rumours are true then surely the other issues you mention will be dealt with in a more effective and expedient manner (going by LB's previous performance)?

They had to give 3.5% of the company for just a 2 year extension and no extra funds. Make no mistake, Stenna were driving a very hard bargain and are taking next to no risk. They have just about first call for their $15 million in the event of the worst happening, and have the option to get 7% of the company at £1 a share in the event of success. In addition, they get 6% while they wait. So I don't view Stenna as a good source of finance while the share price is at these levels.

Regardless of shorters, there seems a complete absence of buyers even at these levels. Anyone selling pushes the price down. There is no competition for shares which is what ultimately moves the price up. Look at companies like Orcado and Carpet Right which were subject to massive shorting. The price moves only slightly because there were ready buyers. IMO the reason is uncertainty. Uncertainty about the cash position, uncertainty about the production from the sites and uncertainty about sales. When a site goes live there is a short term jump on the news then the drift continues as we don't know how the sites are actually performing. We can have as many sites as we like if they don't produce much. Then the chairman just resigns for no apparent reason and has not been replaced. No controlled hand over period, just a resignation. More uncertainty.

Anyway, I hope that is the reason for the continue in fall of the share price and not something more sinister.

frog,
if they had wanted cash they would have increased the bond when renegotiating.

Panoramix, according to Google Maps, those co-ordinates put it close to Alva in Oklahoma - is that right?

It's not the sites completed, but the actual production and more importantly the cash position that is worrying the market. Until the latter is clarified there are no significant buyers and any selling will push down the price. Site completion will give short term bounces, but the worry remains. Also, the reason for Chris Fey's resignation and no chairman will also be a concern.

If I remember rightly, up-to-date pictures last time were posted very shortly before an RNS. Perhaps one due soon!

sandbag: don't think there's much doubt that I04/5 plants are complete and that the only holdup is the formal OK following regulatory inspection. From 28th Feb RNS

"Iofina, specialists in the exploration and production of iodine and iodine specialty chemical derivatives, is pleased to announce that the construction of the Group's IO#4 iodine extraction plant based on Iofina's WET® IOSorb™ technology is complete and under the control of Iofina's operation team. The tie-in to the well operator is also complete and has been approved by the operator." and

"Completion of construction of IO#5 is expected in March and the plant will be turned over to operations staff at that time. Production of iodine for both IO#4 and IO#5 is conditional upon final regulatory inspection and approval. Inspection is expected to occur in mid-March with approval thereafter."

Fwiw I05 was supposed to be only 1 week behind I04 at some point in the story.

Exif info on the photo is showing taken on 10th March. So fairly recent. Does tend to suggest the external, visible structures are complete.

Dig,
"So from photos taken this month and last it looks as though IO4 and IO5 are finished,"

To me it looks like the major components (sizewise) are installed. That may be a long way from plant completion. We need info soon to stop any further falls in share price

The danger now is that the share price is so low that as soon as the company announces it's production figures it will be a bargain price for any predator.

So from photos taken this month and last it looks as though IO4 and IO5 are finished, so where the hell is the RNS....

Dear Iofina,

Congratulations on recent performance. You have truly mastered the art of missing all targets, even those incredibly conservative ones.

Yours, Dig.
