The number of plants or the amount of brine/iodine that can be produced depending upon where the individual plants are placed? A reason for the change in the planned number of plants would have been welcome and should have been in the announcement. It is this question which puzzles me. Is there something afoot to obtain more iodine despite the reduced number of plants?

The bulk of sales is to a few customers, it's in the Annual report.

If one order was delayed, that means a flattering H1 2014 compared to H2 2013, I'll try and find out more later.

WRITZ they say sales to Asia, Europe and South America and at the presentation said they were the leader of iodine product sales in India. However, somewhere at the back of my mind I have it that the bulk of the trade was with a few customers.
There is a product they don't elucidate on that is a recurring contract and non-iodine related that had little sales in 2013 but will bring in $3-4m sales in 2014.

WRITZ,

I believe some IC product is sold to Viachem in the US for domestic distribution. Noli will give you more details.

Captain Kurt - Here we go again with dangerous ramping. You have seen how much damage this has done to many yet are still trying to suck them in.

With 6 plants running (and by the way they have not promised io6 in Q1 now)they have said themselves that output would be 700-1000mt. There is absolutely no way that can be translated into enough profit to justify multiples of todays price.

Lets all hope for steady growth in the share price during 2014 but I say we should all be happy with £1.25 then £1.50 and delirious with £1.75 from todays price (not necessarily bottomed yet)

Correct me if I am wrong, but did CF say at the last presentation that each mobile unit deployed would be the equivalent of a new plant being commissioned, in terms of roll out numbers? So 9 IO plants and 3 mobile units is 12...

SG1 has been very generous with his research as have others on this board. It is for each to make their own decisions based on what they find including posts on boards. Once this had been digested hope that the flow will continue. People either accept that problems happen and have to be overcome or they decide not for them.

The current share price is way oversold imo
Unsurprising that Chris Faye has picked up 150k here.

Ok there's been a few slippages , and yes very annoying , but lets not forget the fact the technology is proven and we are the lowest cost producer of iodine in the world ..

SG has always been as honest as he can be, but his word is only as reliable as the contact he gets the info from, which will not always work out as expected, plus the usual rigors of business life which includes slippage and disappointment. Keep it up SG, cheers for all the info.

Whoops - posted too early! ... cult status - neither for the cult person nor for that matter anyone else. At least, that's how I see the psychology of the BBs.

I hope I haven't offended - just wanted to state how I see things.

Bad day, of course, and am on hols so cannot even buy! 2014 could be like 2012 where it five-bagged after dropping from 80 to 20. We will just have to see, I guess.

I'm not surprised that SG hasn't posted - in situations like this he usually waits until things quieten down a bit.

Can't really understand how revenues are not higher this year given that IOC has had a lot of home iodine this year. I may be naive but I see the delayed sales as just delayed to 014 and so fairly superficial as an issue.

If you want underpromise, then there will be short-term pain. Personally, I think LB tended to hype (understandably), then relayed on to others - still have lots of respect for him, his vision and his achievements, but he was no more perfect than any mere mortal.

FWIW, I think SG is burdened by too many people who never disagree with:-) him (possibly to help him against the malicious) giving the mistaken impression that his word was the be all and end all. That is too much for anyone. It was similar with fjp73 IMO. It is never good whenever anyone - CEO or BB poster gets cult status

No, on second reading I agree, it wasn't.

I just get concerned that days like these can undo some people completely, both financially and mentally.

You invest such hope and money for the future... and then you're screwed before the breakfast toast is cold.

So yes indeed: 'more fool you, dummkopf'. But then again, 'there but for the grace of God...'

Johncsimpson: 13186 & 13224

Your two posts today chill me and I'm genuinely concerned.

Human nature dictates: our subjective perception always over-exaggerates the 'up' side AND the 'down' side of any given situation. So when we think things are on the 'up', they are rarely as GOOD as we think they are... and when the tide turns, as it always does, they are rarely as BAD as we think they are.

And, wow, hasn't IOF been a switch-back these last few months...

Do so hope you have good-hearted people around you who can help you carry the load. If not, come back to this BB and you WILL find some comfort.

with very best wishes

johncsimpson.....thankyou for the apology, it is appreciated. It takes a real man to apologise...especially to a woman such as I am.

I am truely sorry at your difficult situation with family and friends. There are many of us in a similar position, so maybe take some comfort from the fact you aren't alone, and we know how you feel.

I note that some degree of optimism is still being shown in some of the posts from the more ardent followers here. Up until now, I have been buoyed by such posts, and they have kept me going during previous volatility. But it's difficult to maintain and be buoyed again now. I have lost confidence in the BOD, and their ability to deliver, and until I see definate signs of them doing 'what it says on the tin', I shall remain sceptical.

I have bought many tranches during 2013, but the bulk of my purchases occurred at well over 200p, once I was sure that the technology worked, and things looked more certain. Then, when the funds were raised in the Autumn, to speed up the rollout, well, that made progress look even more probable, and I sold other stocks to really get stuck in.

I have to wonder how Lance Baller must be feeling right now. I cannot believe that he isn't wincing at these last few weeks developments.

I have lost trust, there is no doubt. We were told the water permit was a "given", and that was from the board themselves, and also from superg, and what he had 'heard'. It would be comforting to think that the hitch is just a small formality.......but.........what do we believe from now on?

Good luck to you, and I really hope you aren't being given too much of a hard time, and that people understand and are tolerant of the situation.
