25/9/2013 09:33 | Unheard of, but then it's unheard of for anyone to produce iodine at such low OPEX. Doesn't mean it can't happen. But (unfortunately) I think they will get taken over in the end, although it might take a while to find a company willing to pay the right price and for a bidding war finally to end :-) Rollercoaster times ahead as emotions go up and down when bids come and go. IMO. Or maybe the new CEO will want to have his swansong as heading up a leading blue-chip company rather than as masterminding a takeover at the best price and we will remain independent. I will be interested to hear impressions of our new CEO from today's attendees. | ![]() madchick

25/9/2013 09:27 | The beauty about IOF is that it is a vertically integrated company. We are not just selling iodine on the open market. I wold be interested to hear what the new high margin iodine based products are. The chemical division profits could go ballistic as the lower cost iodine works it's way through the system. I wonder how the lower cost iodine will be priced when selling to the chemical division. | ![]() rogerbridge

25/9/2013 09:22 | great results onwards and upwards! room for upgrades later on this year as production rises and more plants become operational. If Ennismore meet IOF should be an interesting meeting. | ![]() phoenixs
25/9/2013 09:20 | Not at £4 though. We know that L and company would not entertain anything less than £6. FWIW less than £10 would be a steal. Buying 30% now is going to be a significant ask. It will make the share price rocket. Remember Jeff Ploen saying "It is unheard of for anyone to be producing 1000 mt and not get bought up". UNHEARD OF. | ![]() king_roster_iii
25/9/2013 09:15 | That's a good point Che, this is the first time IOF have actually stated to the other producers that they we will have a run rate at the end of the year of 700-1000MT (conservatively). Basic math says another 6 plants next year will mean 1400-2000MT run rate for the end of 2014, if someone like SQM is going to make a move, it has to come in the next 3 months I think. Once we get past that point we will be too big for the like of SQM. | ![]() diggulden
25/9/2013 09:14 | "IOF has done all the hard graft, it would be a shame to see it taken out cheaply below 400p. If I were a rival, I would be buying shares heavily in the market and then launching a takeover. Only way to survive." good point che7win how can they stand back and just look!! | ![]() jointer13
25/9/2013 09:10 | tomorrow 200p by tomorrow morning happy days boys | bad robot
25/9/2013 09:09 | We have been building up to a breakout of 150p for some time. The excellent news today means we leave that level, next target is 175p. If we break that, 200p. We all had plenty of opportunity to buy below 150p. Just what are the Chileans going to be thinking today... If I were in their place, do I watch 6 plants become 12 plants, knowing that I can't compete with IOFs margins? Or do I take them out now, at what I would suggest is a dirt cheap price? Buy us at this price, sell the water, oil, gas, helium and it would cost very little. IOF has done all the hard graft, it would be a shame to see it taken out cheaply below 400p. If I were a rival, I would be buying shares heavily in the market and then launching a takeover. Only way to survive. | ![]() che7win
