Thanks retiree - It doesnt look that there are large amounts of shares being offered or sought - 2000 at 165.75 is one order, which is around 10p below the most current executed trade at 10:59.

Overall you get the impression that not much is happening.

Sandbag they not getting mine either, that's another day of data in the bag. Remember Mr Buffet, the one about the stock market transferring money from the impatient to the patient.

Engelo I will be in the States in September/October, Montana is on the list so far, any questions, suggestions, shall I add an inspection of IO2 to the list, hmm... better not take a few snaps though, I don't want to be arrested.

I think some waiting for 5th August will be happy with that.

It would be a right bargain if they are to exit 2013 at a rate as the largest US producer

Plas

They don't need up to io6 to achieve that io2 to 4 up to speed would more than cover it. They also hope to have pods in place this year on those very high ppm wells.

That's not to say they won't get to io6, but for 1200mt plus they don't need io5 or 6 imo, just io2 to 4 on decent bpd.

In fact I'd go as far as saying io2 and 3 on 30k bpd could put them on a daily rate that would shock a few.

We'll see.

Yes we had those comms months back and sticking it in a Tesco own brand is not a good idea imo.

I have still not heard of Byotol being promoted anywhere. We all know about Cillit bang and I fell short of putting a contract on the head of the guy on the advert. All irritating adverts get remembered.

The issue is brilliant tech versus a saturated market. If I buy some, and it chucks foam all over the place, then it will be binned, that's how simple consumer preference works. I liked Mr Muscle as it didn't foam which was brilliant. Then they changed it to a foaming type so I binned it. Then back again so I bought it, now I think it's back to foam, so I'll buy something else.

No one really cares if it kills germs for 10 minutes or 6 hours, it's how the actual product performs for it's main purpose (cleaning) that interests retail customers.

Look at Aerte which is a fresh air pumping product that kills all germs on surfaces and in the air simply by creating the outdoor effect inside. It had huge results in hospital wards. Now the company is bust and gone, all down to promotion of the product, as I never saw or heard of it anywhere.
The final nail in their coffin was trusting a China order, the cheque never arrived.

As for breaking into sectors like the NHS, they will have preferred suppliers. I know as I have worked in a similar organisation. I became aware of significant savings to be made and questioned the logic of buying form a certain source. The fact is they are linked into far bigger, more widespread contracts, that often prevent buying from elsewhere.

While things may look brilliant, breaking into certain sectors can be a tough task.

However I will be having a look, but it does seem our initial thoughts months back to steer clear was the correct call.

I note the BB talk of a supply. I also read that Blackrock may be invested. If that's the case, they are the likely seller as we know from months back they have been exiting small caps.

Roundup

I've used the IR one this morning and haven't held back. If that doesn't get a response I will use other emails, but I feel it's important to 'complain' via the IR email. That's route is in no way a reflection of the contact routes which have remained unchanged.
In fact I have copied a few posts here and sent them to other emails to demonstrate openly how lack of updates breeds mistrust.

To be honest I have far better things to do than keep posting here, and long for the day I can turn my back on ADVFN permanently.

However I don't shy from the task. IOF is a fab prospect and I expect great things, perhaps I should post a few rumours and see how that stirs things up a bit, but I won't. Other threads do that all the time with any old junk.

You know what happened when I found that water permit application.

We'll see how it goes with updates short term. Hey, I'll even fly out there and take photo's to show progress if they won't lol. Then we can have a count the rig comp.

I hope the corn isn't cut, or I'll be the next one on the list getting a visit, and frisk from the County Sheriff.

I'm starting to think that if Lukas Lundin got a controlling interest in this company we'd get better PR. Sirocco seemed to give out plenty of info. (He's not getting any of my shares by the way).

Re post 5498:
Part of the high cost of seawater use for copper miners is the need for desalination before use.

'According to the latest report published by Chile's Mining Council (in Spanish), based on data provided by Wood Mackenzie, CRU Group and McKinsey, the cost of desalination in the country has escalated to the point that it is now twice more expensive than in the United States.
The cost of removing all the salt from seawater in Chile is around US$5 per cubic metre, while in the US costs only $2.3 and $2.8 in Mexico.'

-------------------------------------------------------------

But it appears from the link below that Algorta are using untreated seawater, presumably the salt in sea water used for caliche extraction does not matter since caliche is pretty salty already. This means their increase in opex may not be as high as imagined.

'At the end of March last year, Algorta Norte submitted an environmental impact assessment (EIA) to the environment ministry (MMA) to modify the project, which was originally presented for evaluation in June 2008.
Changes to the project included modifying the route of pipelines transporting seawater 72km from the Mejillones port to the iodine plant, as the previous route crossed over another company's future mining project. It also involved a request from the company providing power to change the location of the transmission lines.
Algorta Norte is the first non-metallic miner in Chile to use UNTREATED SEAWATER in its operations. (my caps)

I have no idea if io2 is up to the max, but someone posted here that it is heading that way.

I also believe it is getting new brine, but you are right IOF should be saying that publicly.

But then they have said that is what is going to happen already.

Then comes my view re it's a simple case of most investors being in the UK and the plants in the US.

If I or anyone else was in the US, we could simply go along to see how things are going. It's soon obvious from loaded trucks and how regular they are to work out how production is going re io2.

Then io3 is easier as you can see how far advanced it is, then see at which point it turns on for tests etc.

So while some think it's inside info, it isn't really, it's just geography preventing most getting their own updates.

So if it's not price sensitive info, then IOF can email it.

However I would rather they rns updates.

Here you go here is the email ir@iofina.com.

Others that have had contact, may have other emails addresses to use.

Rather than whinge, just send your thoughts, their way re PR and updates.

It's no secret that I think they are great at PR in presentations but they forget to transfer that into public announcements as and when appropriate.

As I say the things filtering through suggest all is well, and If one was in OK, you could simply go along and look to see that all is well.

We shouldn't have to email the management for reassurance. They can't (shouldn't)give out information to private individuals that is not already in the public domain. By not getting any update to the contrary, it is reasonable to assume that io2 is still not operating up to max. This is the reason for the nervousness on the part of the P/I. Regardless what is said here selling persists depressing the share price.

Re this point-:

'WE are now nearly in August and still haven't got the existing plants at full capacity. The proposed 6 by year end looks very unlikely and most investors must now appreciate this.'

In particular the first bit. What makes you say that as I have comments and contact from all over the place saying io1 is now getting it's best ppm and better bpd rates.

Also that io2 is now getting new brine and extra Bpd pushing up production rates.

Then that the io3 build is going very well.

However its shouldn't be me collating those facts, and posting them here, that should be down to PR from IOF.

I suggest anyone with concerns email IOF and you are likely to get responses indicating the above detail.
