pcjoe: OT having a look at the battered SXX, almost the first post I came across was

"I did not get to where I am to day by wasting time reading your rubbish..You are now FILTERED" I'll leave you to guess the target.

Impatient short term traders will continue to drift away whilst the Co. provide no reassurance regarding the new CEO & Roll-out/production.

WE are now nearly in August and still haven't got the existing plants at full capacity. THe proposed 6 by year end looks very unlikely and most investors must now appreciate this.

The communication from Iofina, is as with all these types of stocks, looking increasing over stated and poorly managed IMO.

I did look at BYOT and what they have is fab.

I haven't looked recently but was very disappointed to see that the product is a 'Tesco's own' cleaning product.

I have never seen it advertised in an obvious position that would catch my attention.

With such a great product it seems to me the best thing to have done was to give it a name, and promote the brand based on the brilliance of the product.

Customers will buy brand names, over the stores own brand, as they fear store brands are an inferior product.

In fact I'm a bit fastidious over clean kitchens etc, I know Byo is in the Tesco cleaner but I still don't buy it. Yet it is probably the best product out there for cleanliness.

Had it been given it's own brand name and advertised for what it can do, then I'd probably be buying it every week.

Perhaps things have changed, but that move just seemed have no logic based on customer behaviour.

In fact most are more concerned whether a particular cleaning product, 'foams' too much as it then makes the job more difficult.

That is taking it right down to the basics, but that is what drives the decision making process to purchase it, or not.

I'll have a read, I presume it can go into other products and current deals are not exclusive.

I'll pop out and buy some, and give a verdict lol.

That SQM share price graph makes for grim reading SG - Not unlike a typical IOF troll forecast fantasy chart from those nasty pre-filtered days of yore....

That's the key question Chumbo and I don't know the answer but we know that data is being gathered so news sooner rather than later I would think. So we just need a little more patience.

Thank you scrutable, I agree with your comments. What a coincidence that a few of my COMS were exchanged for a few MOS this afternoon, I look forward to Wed trading statement. Byot...I will check out. Thanks all.

mudbath's recommendation of BYOT is in sharp contrast with Comms, very attractive on the predictable scale up.

The forecast increase in Sales is expected to pass 100% of the cash from that increase into the P&L a/c. The product is in increasing demand and likely to move into profit by H2 2014. During the wait it will of course try impatient PIs with its volatility.

However the share price oscillation is at a low point, the share is completely Oversold so the short term probability is for a good rebound.

Does anyone have a feel for the time needed to recommission and prove production rate following hook-up with additional and/or more concentrated brine?

I assume there's a period of process optimisation before the plant is run for a period of, say, a week? Maybe there's a ramp up which takes time. I suppose the longer the two plants run at a given recovery rate the more comfort we will derive and IOF will be mindful of this

However attracted I may have been to speculate (which I almost never do) on this Summer's share price out performance from Comms, I missed the boat in May and the share price now risks a 37% retracement, and is still

1) not in sight of emerging from loss making. A rapid increase in T/O which produces an increase in losses is a very unattractive feature

2) At the top of its trading range and wildly overbought ie over priced.

Notwithstanding that 'Keep away warning" it should be on everyone's watch list
VOIP Telephony is now well past the curiosity stage and has immense traction. Almost certainly people you know have recently begun to use Skype as their connection of choice - but the downside risk present in all investments, including IOF as seen recently, is far too high in Comms for someone who cannot afford to lose capital.

If you want a related share to out perform with greater certainty buy Mobile Streams (MOS) immediately. It is likely to produce a Trading Statement on Wednesday with stellar multiples of Revenues, profits, and margins, beyond expectations. Better still it has a solid retracement behind it and the share price has been rapidly recovering towards a new high with the centre trend line still above it ie there is still a rise from 80p to 120p to go for, and an LT future as well.

That would see me on a beach Bogg1e - It gets scary if you start adding in SGs best case scenario re production & all the bright side re the derivatives, Oil & water etc - I prefer to work on the likely worst case ( fingers crossed) - Plas is right though - Time for IOF to walk the walk

Maca,

You seem to think that the Oil Companies have all the "power" and can dictate the royalty they receive from Iofina and will extract most of the iodine value for themselves.
However as Testuser rightly observes they are not (generally) the "owner" of the brine and simply own the rights to extract the oil.
The ownership of the brine lies with the land owner from whom IOfina secure a lease.
Look at who has what power.
At the moment IOF have the only proven technology to extract the iodine. They have a choice of where to locate their plants and will base their decision on the financial attractiveness of the site.
For example they changed the location of IO2 (which delayed production but is now located in a more productive site)
There are proliferation of potential sites from which IOF can pick and choose to locate their plants. There are many land owners and a few oil producers, but only 1 Company that can extract the iodine.
In this situation the power is with Iofina.

SG1 cheers for the water explanation. All makes sense at last. Cheers.

pcjoe - i would assume that should a buyout occur, it would have to be based at least on 2014 earnings, that would still only come to about £8.50 per share (minimum) at £1bil market cap. Not enough!
