15/2/2013 14:13 | Still only me left then!!! Wake up market... MS analysts upgraded Invensys ISYS.LN +3.06% saying that the market is still not giving the company any credit for future value optimization. "Clarity on the pension issue is a key hurdle for some investors and channel checks with independent pension consultants give us some confidence that the cash risk is largely mitigated," said MS. Invensys is now its top pick. | jak1

10/1/2013 15:36 | STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Back Invensys as bid target -SVM fund manager British engineering company Invensys (LSE: ISYS.L - news) could offer good returns for investors this year as it remains a potential bid target, says SVM Asset Management fund manager Neil Veitch. "Looking forward, we believe Invensys could be an interesting stock for early 2013," says Veitch, who manages the SVM World Equity Fund. Last year, Invensys ended talks over a "highly preliminary" bid approach from U.S. group Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR - news) , and sold a rail division to German rival Siemens (NYSE: SI - news) . Veitch says Emerson (KOSDAQ: 025980.KQ - news) could make another play for Invensys, and that Invensys should benefit from a general rebound in the broader economy following an initial resolution to problems over the U.S. "fiscal cliff", which risked hitting the U.S. economy via a series of tax hikes. "Emerson, a U.S. industrial company, made an unsuccessful approach for the company last year and could well return but even in the absence of a takeover, Invensys looks well placed to benefit from the general upturn in economic activity as a consequence of recent events in Washington," says Veitch. | jak1

03/12/2012 16:10 | My understanding is that the pension deficit will be corrected by utilising the receipts from the sale to Siemens of the Rail business. These receipts will also provide a cash return to investors and provide the company with a war chest. The sale is scheduled to occur in the second quarter of 2013. Regards UK | uknighted

30/11/2012 09:39 | Nomura has raised its target price from 330p to 370p. "We believe the prospects for the new leaner Invensys are good, and we do not view the smaller size as a material headwind. Top-line growth looks to us supported by positive end-market trends (particularly in appliances and in Oil & Gas sector) and by bolt-on M&A opportunities." | miata
30/11/2012 09:30 | if the Deustche Bank assumptions are correct in post 113378, all that is needed is pension exit costs at or below the minimum, which is not hard to see when looking at the annual report, and to add up to £800 million to the combined businesses, including Rail. | rumpelstiltskin2
