Just hope that ALL Staff have the guts to refuse to go to work if they have to pay it.There was talk of a Congestion Charge around Heathrow at one stage. I told my friends that work there to put pressure on The Unions to have plans in place to have a TOTAL ALL OUT STRIKE if that came about.

M,

really do not know...i guess there is an acceptance that airports owners are in big financial trouble too as the airlines using them

I don't know why you're talking about this as if it's new.Airports have charged people to pick up and drop off for years.Pick up, I can understand, but to drop off for a couple of minutes is ridiculous. At Manchester, they have a "drop off point" and a free bus service to the airport, but who wants to wait for that, hence they know they can fleece the holidaymakers even more.

But why is there no 'pushback' from the airlines and airport companies about this ?

Yep it is Heathrow airport charging for pick up and drop offs Also airport staff who use staff car parks now have to pay £30 per month but that cost is being passed to the employers of the employees

I also heard they charge for transfers from Terminal to Terminal but not 100% on that but wouldn't surprise me

I don't understand this charging for drop off Monty ???

How do airlines expect their customers to get to check in ?
surely this is a kind of ransom......why aren't the airlines and retail vendors at the airports in uproar ?

You are making a lot of assumptions and have not read my posts properly.
Obviously there is a bull case. I said no one had explained it 'so far'. On some advfn threads there is a surprising amount of informed comment. This one just seems to be a low-quality thread at the moment. You are right to not believe that I would base investment decisions on what people say here. That would be foolish. Obviously I'm looking at other more reliable sources too. That's all for now milkey. Have a good covid-free weekend.

But if there is no bull case, why are you bothering to post ?
You have already decided IAG is a basket case.

I cannot believe that an investor such as yourself bases their investment decisions on what people post on this BB.

I'm exploring the potential and getting to know this share. By posting the negatives, I'm looking for longs here to explain the bull case. So far, no one has been able to do that, which suggests that either you're bad posters or bad investors or both.

lol. Keep drinking that kool aid milkey. IAG is heading for an uncontrolled descent and it seems you choose to not see it coming. Your choice. All fine with me.

Actually the trend over 1 month is down not up.
Daily deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of death

The latest reported numbers, deaths and cases up, week-on-week, though deaths down on yesterday's figure - the trend is up for both deaths and cases, not good for IAG:

The UK has reported 121 more coronavirus-related deaths and 42,076 cases in the latest 24-hour period, according to government data.

It compares with 178 deaths and 38,154 infections yesterday, while last Friday 100 fatalities and 38,046 cases were announced.

milkey, you seem to have confused priorities. You are evidently trying to have a 'covid argument' with me. I do not care about covid, other than avoiding getting killed by it. The reason why I am discussing the number of covid deaths is because that is how people abroad are judging the safety of travel to and from the UK and the level of quarantine factors and inconvenience/cost associated with that travel. High covid mortality and infection rates put the UK on 'red lists' or their equivalent, and consequently there will be little or no long-haul traffic to the UK from those destinations, in just the same way that we as a nation, apply restrictions on countries like India where the disease is running rampant. All of this is bad for IAG which needs to get up and flying again long-haul at high capacity.

The covid situation, sadly, is currently getting worse here. Whatever your views on the disease, the cure, the economic response, there is no getting away from that fact. IAG's debt burden is consequently increasing, and will become unsupportable, perhaps within months. That is why this share is heading down and will continue to do so until covid is contained globally.

Too funny.......The covid data of course. which you are avoiding referring to now that it doesn't support your position.

I have just seen that the 178 figure you mention comes from this website which states
"Deaths within 28 days of positive test "

This doesn't support your argument .
