19/3/2020 12:21 | Sorry off topic. Typical smoke and mirrors. UK GOV can't resist it. It appears that the 3 month mortgage reprieve , isn't as it seems . You will actually be 'deferring' your mortgage payments for 3 months and will still be expected to repay the interest that compounds during the term. So, the big announcement from the Chancellor, will actually mean that your debt will be increasing, rather than UK GOV picking up the bill. It will in fact cost UK GOV nothing ! Edinburgh News "In response to the government’s announcement, UK Finance, which represents financial firms, has outlined how the mortgage payment holiday will work. The mortgage repayment is deferred for a period. The monthly payment changes to zero, and interest accrues for the period. Where repayments are deferred for a time, the borrower will need to make up these repayments in the future, which could be over the remaining term " | ![]() m1k3y1
19/3/2020 12:03 | Loganair, it’s why they won’t touch the money. WW wont accept seeing his retirement fund smoked with government now moving towards a China style lockdown, China looking as through they are through the other side (a country with lots of old people, habitual smokers and the worst smog on the planet). China locked down less than a month ago. They are now nearly through the other side. IAG have at least 6 months burn cash. That’s without the reduction in spend as It looks as if they are actually operating a reasonable number of aircraft and not grounded, reducing the burn rate. Government advisors now commenting that this is likely to be mainly done by June. | smithys2019

19/3/2020 11:49 | Monty. What time is your Easyjet rescue flight.Would have thought you had more important things to do today than post on this board. | 962962
19/3/2020 11:47 | When all this first started I posted IAG going to 50p and Easyjet to 100p. If the government has to step in, remember the banks. Before the financial crises of 2008 Lloyds high of 1200p, since the financial crises and the government taking a stake they have not even reached 100p and as for RBS in old money they topped out a £55 before the financial crises and have barely reached £3 since. | ![]() loganair
19/3/2020 11:45 | IAG won’t take the cash. By not doing so it sends a very loud message to the market. It also gives leverage when government up taxation to pay for bailouts, they can claim they didn’t participate and want relief. What will help is knowing the cash is there if the situation deteriorates. | smithys2019
19/3/2020 11:43 | Why Is Boris going to help? He needs to agree a coordinated message with Spain or this will go bust | ![]() watfordhornet
19/3/2020 11:37 | Markets will pick up again maybe in November if centrist Joe Biden wins, which is looking likely now. Although if the election is postponed for 12 months due to circumstances then market would head south again possibly. | ![]() hamhamham1
19/3/2020 11:32 | I think at 110p IAG would be a steal. You could liquidate the company, sell off the assets and I am sure you will have more than made 2billion once the separate entities are flogged off - although who is going in the market to buy passenger planes! | ![]() waikenchan
19/3/2020 11:17 | Well at 110p market cap 2 billion.I'm sure Boris will help. | ![]() montyhedge
19/3/2020 11:13 | Monty......with respect , quoting numbers is pretty pointless in this situation. No one knows. | ![]() m1k3y1
19/3/2020 11:11 | I see 115p if gov help is deemed not to be enough for airlines. | ![]() montyhedge
19/3/2020 10:56 | It's pretty nuts, not even substantial central intervention can support stock prices... You got to wonder how much stocks / indexes will still fall before bottoming out. | ![]() waikenchan
19/3/2020 10:41 | Smithy....yes, Sin, HKG , Nigeria, BAH and others still operating, including a few others and 'gateway' places in the USA. Loads are 'reasonable' considering the situation but cargo doing well I hear. | ![]() m1k3y1
19/3/2020 10:38 | I guess the bookies don't have any sports to bet on so if you need your gambling fix, the stock market will give you that hit. | ![]() hamhamham1

19/3/2020 10:13 | IAG was up about 3% before. Lufty up about 7%, Norwegian hovering around 7% loss. How much more can Norwegian take? | smithys2019
19/3/2020 10:05 | IAG results for Q1 are first week of May (7th) Hoping any negativity in the report is able to be counterbalanced by a recovery in the health and confidence of consumers across Europe. Could be a buying opportunity though😐 | smithys2019
19/3/2020 10:02 | Not sure of dates, but always seems regular, as is ftse100 is spread over a few weeks for different companies, then soon time for the next quarters :) Probably about 6 weeks for IAG next one. For quarterly results up to 31st march | ![]() hamhamham1
19/3/2020 09:54 | I reckon IAGs won’t be as bad as the other, but still will be a shocker. When I are the next quarter results due? | smithys2019
19/3/2020 09:53 | When the next earning updates come, I reckon all companies will massively increase their bad debt provisioning as well as reveal their using up of available credit lines. | ![]() hamhamham1 |
