What a load of bowlocks

Not sure why these are rebounding so high. Just stepped off a Zurich flight that from experience is normally 80 per cent full.....Friday outbound....about a quarter full, today inbound...a quarter full again.

a few points to consider..

....80 airline operators in domestic Europe yet more than 100% of the profit comes from the top six operators.

.... Thomas Cook, Flybe ) and Air Italy going into administration, with many others in weak financial positions

.... sizable insider buying at IAG this week

....Coronavirus could prove to be the catalyst for unprecedented capacity reduction and consolidation.

This morning in the coronavirus league table Spain over took Germany and by this evening may over haul France leaving them in 5th place in the number of cases.

142. Doubled in a year. Tripled in 2. Could have bagged nearly 7 times over if you sold a month ago.

How on earth are governments going to keep the show on the road.

No one is flying

Most of the worlds population are going to be unproductive.

Depression is here but you can’t see it.

Anyone remember what the share price was back in 2012 during the last crisis? Especially to all those who are promoting others to buy now.

Meteoric rise once this is over. Seriously doubt we've seen the worst of it with virus still in early stages in Europe but very encouraging firstly that this can now take another walloping without dropping much below 400 and that the support is clearly there. Buy the dips now or regret your cowardice a few months down the line.

Just hit 440. 10p over my average. Happy as we hopefully (slowly and with a few bumps in the road) head back on the way up.

Buying dips to 400p, accumulating, Coronavirus will be rear view mirror after peaking soon, it’s a temporary event, people will still be traveling to Italy over the summer, I’m going in mid September, mainly because the weather is lovely and quieter.

Tried to get some good deals to Caribbean-but travellers are switching there as no corona balona, just rum punches and lovely sandy beaches

Where are you off to? BA has a very wide client demographic. LGW does mainly leisure so doesn’t give the full picture.

Smithy. It affects (ie puts in ICU) approx 12% of all who have identified with the virus.
Maybe 10-12% is more accurate.

It affects 12% of the old age with existing complications/conditions. Many who have had it won’t even have known they have been infected and the rest will have minor/flu like symptoms.

Governments should be issuing a quarantine to the part of the (mainly unproductive, non working) population that it has the most severe effects. This will limit the economic impact too. The rest of us should be out and about developing herd immunity for the next time it hits.

Approx 12% of all who get this end up in ICU.
If this spreads then you can do the maths, there is a reason all governments are going containment nuts over this.
We do not have the ICU beds for a large scale spread of the virus.
This is affecting all normal operations of hospitals.
Ignoring the fatality rate.
But on a lighter (and less relevant) note, at least the markets look calmer today.
