02/5/2023 14:17 | I have updated the INSIG article with a detailed overview of policing greenwashing and how INSIG AI sits inside the increasing regulatory burden. Big thanks to the head of research, Diana Ross, for her time and very detailed response. It is under the heading *Greenwashing is a crime | elrico

02/5/2023 12:55 | "Shares in online learning service Chegg have plummeted after it became one of the first companies to admit that artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT had affected its finances. In results announced on Monday, California-based Chegg, which offers on-demand answers to college course questions for $19.95 a month, reported a 7 per cent fall in revenue year on year in the first quarter of 2023 to $187.6mn. Its number of subscribers fell 5 per cent to 5.1mn. The company withdrew its full-year guidance, and its Nasdaq-listed shares fell 37.5 per cent to $11 in after-hours trading." | ![]() banshee
02/5/2023 12:09 | 'Generative AI could transform the economy The answer to that question is likely yes, but it will take time. According to Ark Investment Management, which is run by top technology investor Cathie Wood, generative AI software like ChatGPT could add $200 trillion to global economic output by 2030. For perspective, global gross domestic product is expected to come in at $106 trillion this year, so Ark is expecting AI will drive a full-on growth explosion by the end of the current decade. The firm believes the cost to train generative AI models to GPT-3 capability will decline by 70% per year between now and then, meaning a business could deploy a sophisticated large-language model for just $30 in 2030. That would be down from $4.6 million in 2020! As a result, a typical computer programmer using an AI-powered coding assistant (like ChatGPT or Copilot) could become 10 times more productive. Knowledge workers like lawyers and scientists could also substantially speed up their workloads by using AI to analyze mountains of data in an instant. Those productivity gains form the basis of Ark's economic estimate. Companies like Duolingo and even Coca-Cola have partnered with OpenAI to weave this technology into their businesses. Then there's Microsoft, which recently committed to invest billions of dollars directly into Open AI' From Motley Fool.. DYOR. | ![]() hazl
02/5/2023 10:59 | Reference to above. '“As artificial intelligence technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we are embracing it aggressively and prioritizing our investments to meet this opportunity,” said Dan Rosensweig, CEO & President of Chegg, Inc. “We believe we are in the best position to take advantage of the advancements in AI for the benefit of students, because we can leverage our proprietary data, our 150,000+ experts, and our decade-plus years of experience as we launch CheggMate.” Thanks to EI. | ![]() hazl

02/5/2023 09:20 | Agree - filings will provide some useful info and presumably it won't be very long.Separately, a few relevant snippets from the AB earnings call Q&A last Thursday. Bonds..high yield..CarVal fee rates..all of which full fit into the Insig/CarVal partnership dynamic:"In summary, we believe that bonds are back with higher yields providing an attractive entry point.""The first quarter fee rate of 40.3 basis points was up 4% year-over-year, driven primarily by the addition of higher fee rate CarVal based fees""On the institutional side, we have seen an up-tick in the demand for U.S. high-yields and that kind of played into the sales and the pipeline. We continue to see strong demand in credit and U.S. high-yields." | ![]() noujay

01/5/2023 22:39 | Elric Pretty sure carval have to file their fund launch document to the sec and until that point they cannot disclose what percentage we get. I’d hazard a guess there a few other financial governance restrictions holding back public projections as well but that’s the nature of the business. You either get in early or you get in a bit later. Not a fan of multiple personas either. I’m here for the knowledgable insight of the rare few. | ![]() shrewdmole
01/5/2023 22:01 | 'We have previously spoken about the nascent nature of the ESG market. 01/5/2023 21:30 | shrewdmole1 - 2224 "From memory I believe neither carval nor INSG can announce projections for the fund and AuM until the fund or funds are launched. Something to do with corporate financial governance I believe." Sorry, Steve, I missed this with all the excitement. :)) Leaving Carval aside, I'd wager the current forecasts will not include any revenues from the GFIN/FCA partnership with 80 international organisations committed to supporting financial innovation. I assume this because it will be too early for any numbers to be put before the NOMAD due to the timing of the partnership and GFIN launch of the initiative. Plenty of opportunity to surprise the market? | elrico
01/5/2023 20:02 | Artificial neural networks like GPT, rely on loads of text being filtered through and have been about a while, so it is not the same , as the revolutionary AI they are talking about,I don't think.
