16/5/2014 17:10 | nmarsat PLC 16 May 2014 Inmarsat comments on Inmarsat-5 launch schedule Inmarsat has a contract with International Launch Services ("ILS") for the launch of two Inmarsat-5 satellites ("F2" and "F3") using the Proton launch vehicle. These two satellites will complete our Global Xpress ("GX") network of three satellites and allow for the start of GX services on a global basis. The first Inmarsat-5 satellite ("F1") was successfully launched using Proton in December 2013 and remains on track to begin commercial operations in July 2014. On 15 May 2014, a Proton launch vehicle failed shortly after lift-off, resulting in the loss of its satellite payload. The cause of the failure will be assessed by a process known as the Failure Review Oversight Board ("FROB") and a report of its findings is expected to be completed in the next two months. While the conclusions of the FROB will be important in determining the impact on our launch schedule, we believe a delay in the planned launch of both the Inmarsat-5 F2 and F3 is now likely, which would delay the launch of GX services on a global basis. However, the start of commercial GX services on a regional basis using F1 (and F2 in due course), as well as existing customer commitments to purchase GX services, will not be impacted by any delay in global service availability. Inmarsat's existing L-band business is entirely unaffected by any GX launch delay and continues to trade in line with management expectations. Fortunately ISAT wasn't on board by my reading. | wad collector
16/5/2014 09:09 | Decided to have some more at 687 ; don't see many bargains on elsewhere at the moment. | wad collector
16/5/2014 08:17 | Bought my trading stake back at 693. Doubt there is a good reason for short term weakness. 7% in six weeks will do me even if I missed the dividend. | wad collector
07/5/2014 15:51 | In line with expectations really , esp judging by the neutral share price movement. Light squared remains an uncertainty but at least some money has come in. | wad collector
07/5/2014 15:47 | IMS looks OK on a quick read through. It's a pity the Russian rocket thing is holding it back. | enami

09/4/2014 15:14 | Bye bye ISAT... that's me out now at just over £7.62. Bought at £3.05 when their first rocket was launched (Nov 2005???? Jeez!).... watched it go to nearly £8 time and again and then back down again...sold some at a reasonable high, and have now just sold the last. I'll keep watching, unless it goes towards my initial target of £11 (never got there), then i will probably turn off in a fit of pique! GLA | eipgam

28/3/2014 07:31 | Inmarsat has been recognised globally, but now it has the City's attention ".. The previously low-profile satellite company's share price has risen 9% in the past fortnight and its future looks promising It is the previously low-profile UK company that helped to establish that Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 almost certainly crashed in the southern Indian Ocean. Satellite data collected in this control room when sliced, analysed and modelled provided the key clues in narrowing the search. The Malaysian government has acknowledged the importance of the analysis by Inmarsat and the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch..." ".. Before this month, Inmarsat was known in the City as the satellite company with a volatile share price and a habit of upsetting some of its shareholders with rows over the pay of its executive chairman, Andrew Sukawaty. Now it is famous. There is no commercial benefit for Inmarsat in assisting the MH370 investigation, Pearce stresses. Nevertheless, in normal clinical style, the City's attention has turned to Inmarsat as an investment. The share price has risen 9% in the past fortnight..." See full article at | m.t.glass

26/3/2014 07:15 | Last night's Washington Post.. Inmarsat (ISAT) credited with significant role in missing plane search: "...The new flight-path analysis emerged from data gathered by the British satellite company Inmarsat. The company has a satellite in a geostationary orbit, hovering 22,000 miles above the equator over the Indian Ocean. Once an hour, a ground-based radio antenna had a "handshake" with a computer on the plane, with the transmission relayed by the satellite. The first computer handshake came when the plane was still at the gate in Kuala Lumpur. After the plane vanished, the ground station and plane had six more hourly handshakes, indicating that the plane was still flying. Inmarsat's scientists studied those signals and looked for subtle changes - a Doppler shift in the frequency - that would indicate whether the plane was flying toward or away from the satellite, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Malaysian government and attributed to the British Air Accidents Investigation Branch..." 24/3/2014 11:14 | Or a bit of publicity from the Airliner satellite search? Probably neither , the rise does not look that unusual over a six month chart. But I am tempted to sell my trading stake on this mornings rise. Sold some at 726 | wad collector
18/3/2014 14:22 | Yes... anybody got any idea whats giving us the share price strength? Could it be the need for reliable communications in times of possible conflict? | eipgam |
