10/9/2015 17:39 | Inmarsat : and Securiport partner to deliver new border security service; Leading technology companies join forces to help governments improve border management, aviation security and disease control 10/10/2015 | 11:47am US/Eastern Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L), the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, and Securiport LLC, the global leader in intelligent information and civil aviation security solutions today announced a new partnership to develop new solutions for civil aviation security, immigration control and border management, which will be made available to government customers around the world. Border management and security is an increasing challenge for governments in an era of frequent international travel and migration. To address issues of security and disease control, Securiport will combine its proprietary Integrated Immigration Control System (IICS) and Intelligent Information Management System (IIMS), equipped with ground sensor technology, with Inmarsat's highly robust and reliable, globally available satellite constellations. The new services would be offered in conjunction with the Inmarsat-4 network, used by government and commercial organisations across the world for mission-critical applications, as well as the company's latest constellation, Global Xpress, which offers true, high-speed broadband connectivity on land, sea and in the air. For governments, the service will provide access to real-time data analytics and risk management tools virtually anywhere within their territories, while simultaneously providing a comprehensive detection solution for the management of land borders. Inmarsat's world-leading mobile satellite communications network will enable remote border management operations to be linked in real-time to a country's national IICS/IIMS, significantly enhancing security and immigration efficiency at the same time. "We are honoured to join forces with Inmarsat through this strategic collaboration," said Dr. Attila Freska, Securiport's Chief Operating Officer. "Through the establishment of this relationship, Inmarsat and Securiport will be uniquely positioned to provide enhanced border security solutions to our government clients and heightened safety for travellers." Inmarsat's President of Global Government, Andy Start, said: "The international government sector is becoming increasingly reliant on new interoperable technologies to aid in their border protection operations. The Inmarsat Global Government team actively sources market-leading technology providers such as Securiport, to provide integrated and targeted solutions for the specific requirements of the government sector. We are very excited about the relationship with Securiport and the increased capabilities it will bring to our government clients in securing their borders and assets." 07/9/2015 15:54 | redips2 thanks for confirming that. Also talk of 'drone' ships within ten years all controlled from land base via one or more of ISATS many services. Interesting times ahead methinks. | losos
03/9/2015 11:55 | Yes you are correct re: the 3rd one being the final link in the chain......very promising times ahead, and v close to the ATH . | redips2
03/9/2015 11:21 | I think I am right in saying that the recent launch is the third satellite and it completes the worldwide coverage so in effect ISAT can now offer voice and data anywhere (Including in flight and at sea) at anytime. Quite an achievement in my humble view having once (many decades ago) struggled with back packs the size of a large suitcase and HF antennae taller than a house ha ha. My understanding is that ISAT can also increase the number of satellites in the future (as demand increases) so it seems to me that future prospects are looking good. | losos
01/9/2015 10:10 | Brilliant news...... have been away so just catching up ! | redips2
29/8/2015 08:27 | satellite successfully entered orbit at 4.15 am - Yippee- well done team Inmarsat !! | 9degrees
28/8/2015 12:52 | we have lift off successfully of Proton rocket- all looking good to go into orbit | 9degrees
06/8/2015 08:03 | Aviation side growing like topsy Sadly proving the point that all publicity is good publicity. MH370 has been a boost for ISAT as their tracking technology hit the front pages.. Aviation side has had a boost from that tragedy no question. . | undervaluedassets

03/6/2015 17:54 | Promoted to FTSE100 at today's review. Aggreko demoted. Applied after the close of business on Friday, 19 June 2015 and will be effective on Monday, 22 June 2015. | enami
20/5/2015 11:52 | It is a testament to the resilience of the share price here that this week's launch rocket burnup has not made much of a dent . Admittedly it was not an ISAT on board but it is clearly bad news. Looks like I won't be back in soon! | wad collector
13/5/2015 11:19 | At my target 1016 now, XD tomorrow 30.26 cents (19.3p?), pay 29 May Top of the FTSE250 at the moment and maybe a chance of promotion to FTSE100 at then next review 3 June, depending on the div drop/recovery I guess. | enami
07/5/2015 11:52 | I went to the AGM, yesterday. Well worth going and made very welcome. Their head office is beside 'Silicon Roundabout' in London. I was impressed with their longer term plans and will probably increase my holding. They have a unique offer and in many areas seem to be the only the only player. | nocton
06/5/2015 08:45 | And next week its going ex div with a hefty amount paid out so another drop on the cards for those waiting for a cheaper price.... | shoobmeister
06/5/2015 08:31 | Seems poor to me.... except for aviation where you would have expected an improvement after the MH disasters. | eipgam
30/4/2015 13:19 | Not a holder anymore.... but my long term price target (at the time of the first rocket launch) was £11... (see posts passim) I sold about £8 last year | eipgam
22/4/2015 08:54 | Yes very nice, how much further can we go? | mikecfc77
22/4/2015 08:30 | And up we still go......V nice . | redips2
30/3/2015 10:11 | There had been talk earlier this year on the AVN thread of FB using their satellite with African/Middle East coverage. Seems to have cooled now though so maybe they've moved onto ISAT. | jontyone
29/3/2015 21:41 | article in ST today about tie up with FB and Google to extend worldwide internet access | eipgam
05/3/2015 08:37 | And the negative overreaction done and it is blue. | undervaluedassets |
