Satellite sector was tipped to me by a hedge fund manager in Jan this year. He liked the look of Eutelsat more than ISAT - but looks like ISAT is the one to go for.

They'll be fine.I wonder if Harbinger are padding about and that's the reason behind the magnitude of the rise.

The surge continues, top gainer on the FTSE100, not a huge volume.
I suspect Friday's results have been leaked and insiders buying in.

Nicely ahead today and hit a new high for the year.
AGM statement yesterday OK.
Results Friday and XD next week.

Bit of a wonky start last Friday but now almost at top of price channel established recently (see cxhart previous post). Profit sliced at 522.

Pretty good rise yesterday and hit my target.
Sold half my stock to pay bills and still just within CGT limit.
Running out of steam at the top of the trend channel?

I hope not, they seem pretty well set on the eventual takeover.
I added last month when they dipped below 400 on the basis any deal will be over 500.
From Harbinger's point of view this must be attractive as last year the USD/GBP exchange rate was over 2.00 and now at 1.40 will cost them far less.

So not an offer just an update on the regulatory process.

"Harbinger does not expect there to be any material change to the timetable for obtaining the Inmarsat Change of Control Application as a result of such separate processing. The approval process for the Inmarsat Change of Control Application is ongoing, and Harbinger's expectation remains, as stated in the 25 July 2008 announcement, that approval is likely to take approximately 12-18 months from the date of that announcement."

Last July when they first announced a possible offer the share price spiked to 557.

Results coming up next week 12 March

Tremendous points swing today. I wonder if the satellite collision story has anything to do with it.

"Iridium Satellite LLC confirmed today that one of its satellites was destroyed Tuesday in an unprecedented collision with a spent Russian satellite and that the incident could result in limited disruptions of service."

Iridium satellites are a Low Earth Orbit constellation and any debris will not affect Inmarsat.
The satellites are in a near-polar orbit at an altitude of 485 miles (780 km). The 66 active satellites fly in formation in six orbital planes, evenly spaced around the planet, each with 11 satellites equally spaced apart from each other in that orbital plane.
