I especially like these snippets:

"Aeronautical sales grew 44 per cent as private jets and government aircraft signed up for on-board internet. The company will benefit when airlines such as Ryanair start to offer inflight calls. These revenues are unlikely to be significant before next year.

Inmarsat also plans to launch globally a hand-held satellite phone at the end of this year. It will retail at about $500, half the current market price, and Inmarsat is hoping to have 10 per cent of that market by 2010."

I should have revised broker reports in the next few days -

Good write ups, I continue to accumulate and will do my level best to stay with isat but its not easy with 5/7% daily moves -

You can only buy sensibly on the dips -

Steeplejack , I hesitated and didn't sell then either. As you say ,(And I pointed out on this BB at the time), director sales are always a bit worrying.Nevertheless , I still happily hold these - I think their future looks very secure. The planned April Inmarsat 4 satellite launch will hopefully boost the share price providing it doesn't turn into a firework.

wad collector......the point i am making is that you should always keep an eye out for director dealing or insider dealing as it's known in the US.When the directors sold back in November,it was -with the benefit of hindsight-clear that the company was noticing a discernable slow down in their performance, currency exacerbated. They sold substantial percentages of stock. That the market, after a sharp intial markdown, chose to believe all was rosey and see a price recovery largely on the back of Harbinger buying was erroneous.I was stupid to hold on to my holding. In the 4th Qtr,pretax was actually down year on year. The performance in 2008 threatens to be pedestrian and companies on premium ratings cannot afford to experience a sharp slackening in growth.
The directors made a fortune when the company came to the market and have made another small fortune with the company's share price performance since, not that that bothers me per se.

Stakebuilding at satellite operator Inmarsat by Harbinger Capital, the US hedge fund that holds 28 per cent, provides speculative interest but given a recent strong run, there will be better times to buy. Pass says the Times

Seems we have recovered a bit but todays share action was rather strong, I'd not want to see a repeat of it - except upwards.

Steeplejack ,the directors didn't do that well ; after all ,they sold at 485 , it subsequently touched 535 and is now only 4% down on their selling price.
Looking at the rest of my portfolio performance over the last 6 months, I have no complaints about Immarsat.
