07/10/2011 12:12 | Indeed, and they spent £600k in doing so, which means they must have cash to spare. | horace678
07/10/2011 11:47 | If they are buying back their own shares it bows well for the future they must think the stock is cheap. | williamgtheobald
05/10/2011 08:43 | Just prior to the purchases I had reduced my holding substantially, as I thought that the market was heading down. However when the fall came, these company buys have clearly supported the shareprice, such that it has outperformed the AIM market. | cb7
30/9/2011 12:37 | Notice how the company has bought back 194,500 shares in two transactions in September: I wonder what's going on. On the face of it, it must be good for us shareholders as our shares form a larger proportion of the total shares issued. | horace678
17/8/2011 16:05 | Also had a big profit and looking to be totally ungeared. | mikeja
17/8/2011 16:03 | Decided to reduce all my positions before debt raising approval in USA,God help us if the Republicans win next elections, they are financial illiterates. | mikeja
17/8/2011 09:45 | mikeja....Just interested..What made you sell at 360 when it was only on a p/e of 5.7 then ?? | davidosh
17/8/2011 09:30 | Yes, the shares are a good bargain at this price. | horace678
17/8/2011 08:18 | Currently selling about 4.5x this yrs earnings compared to 18x for Michael Page.Sold most around 360,getting back in at 275. | mikeja
31/7/2011 06:12 | when might we see the next update, and what are you expecting it to show? what factors are holding this back? | mafia music
28/7/2011 08:20 | The "dodgy" also comes from doing deals deliberately complicatedly - as long as what Lord A does isn't illegal, I would say that this was indeed good business practice.... | horace678
28/7/2011 07:50 | just got the latest Cenkos estimates (dated yesterday)..pre tax 37.4 and 63eps, which is clearly good news...still good upside to be had (methinks) | cb7
28/7/2011 06:49 | cenkos have just come out with a 567p price target. I think the "dodgy" comes from tax avoidance issues, like registering companies in Belize....others might say this is just good business practice. | cb7
27/7/2011 20:58 | I personally think Ashcroft will be looking for a bid. In the case of OneSource (sold off in 2007 by Cheryl Jones, now chairman of IPEL), it went for twice the shareholders' equity. On this basis, IPEL would be worth a little over £5. So much for Ashcroft being "dodgy". He knocks businesses into shape and gets rid of them. His businesses can't be dodgy if people want to buy them. | horace678
27/7/2011 14:08 | they made 29eps in H2 last year, so 55 for the full year looks do-able. Agreed that most of the significant improvements have already been made, with the market playing catch-up, though 400p looks a tad mean. I have read that Ashcroft improves companies and then sells them on.... | cb7
27/7/2011 11:05 | I think that management have probably wrung as much as they can out of this company and that any further progress in terms of profits growth will be no more than pedestrian.Assuming earnings for the full year of 50-55p a price of 400p is as much as one can hope for in these markets in the absence of a bid which is what i believe the company might now be seeking.A price of 500p might then be a possibility. In the absence of a bid the share price could wither away out of sheer boredom and as those shareholders who got in at the lower levels take profits. | thorne3
27/7/2011 07:23 | results look to be inline. As usual there is little info regarding recent trading in H2, with no outlook statement. The second half is usually stronger, so the 59eps forecast looks possible, though I'm always more cautious and say 55p....lets see what the broker says in a day or two. Charts still bullish, with a nearterm rise to around 400 on the cards | cb7
08/7/2011 08:06 | the only strange thing I noticed was the other day when the spread narrowed to a fraction of a penny! Otherwise the chart is bullish, with the share normally riding above and well supported by the 20 day ma over the last year. This is presently at 361p approx....pretty close to your "managed" level. If the past is any guide, and it usually is, it will spike up again. | cb7
06/7/2011 16:39 | The share price of Impellam seems to be being "managed" round the 365p level.Would anybody like to speculate why? | thorne3
27/6/2011 17:35 | Horace, Sorry about my blog;I just realised that you referred tothe AGM which occurred 2 years ago.Have any bloggers been to the recent AGM? Modge Horace e,sorry about my blog.I just realised that you referred to the AGM held 2 years ago. Has any blogger been to the AGM held recently? MODGE | modge
27/6/2011 17:14 | horace,I note you went to the AGM.I am sure many bloggers would be nterested in what was said during tea & biscuits and your general impression. thanks Modge | modge
23/6/2011 08:23 | I went to the AGM two years ago, and it was just a question of formalities. I learnt the most from the casual conversation with the top brass (Cheryl Jones etc) during the tea and biscuits afterwards. There were only about four private investors there. | horace678
22/6/2011 14:07 | Did anybody attend the AGM this morning and ,if so, did one learn anything of significance? | thorne3
13/6/2011 11:44 | Either that or absolutely no stock, did a buy of 50 shares really move it? | crimeprotection1
13/6/2011 11:19 | Well, personally I think this is a little suspicious. It moves on the lightest volumes. | wylecoyote |
