07/9/2017 13:46 | Errrrr.... did the share price just spike 12p ?? | hammerd2
07/9/2017 13:22 | Please not another 7 weeks of this............zzzz | theyak
07/9/2017 12:56 | This subject has been turned over a few times .... 😱 AGM has to be on or before 31 October. By which time we will know if we're off at the races or not. | hammerd2
07/9/2017 12:13 | I read in a article that Apple were excluded from making a offer for imagination technology now ,because of either there original approach or a statement they made about not biding for imagination, but I'm very happy to be corrected on this as I can't locate that article I read, Apple states they don't need imaginations technologies ip ,but hold onto there 8% holding in imagination, and knowing what would happen to imaginations share price when they revealed their bombshell announcement , potentially loosing 80million And they could have offloaded there holding a long time before that announcement, That doesn't make financial sense unless they really do want to buy imagination on the cheap sometime after there bombshell announcement, If apples stance doesn't make any real sense ,then it's because it has a hidden agenda. And imagination technologies knows it. But I'm sure a first offer from another party should really explain apples hidden agenda.remember apple can justify a offer above £1billion if it really does need imaginations Intellectual portfolio. So anything below that is stealing imagination on the cheap. IMHO. | tombelfast
07/9/2017 10:53 | Still no date for the AGM btw...... I've tried asking twice now and have not even received an acknowledgement let alone a reply. | hammerd2
07/9/2017 10:52 | Greed from the Chuckle Brothers is the only reason I can see for no bids at all coming in. But if a formal bid comes in it has to be made public so hopefully the final decision won't be theirs. I mean, to get the ball rolling someone could come in at 10p premium. You never know. My base line for bids is the 122p level when the sale was announced btw which is the way things normally work (ie close of play the day before the sale news is released. That makes 158.6p the 30% price. | hammerd2
07/9/2017 10:45 | The potential downside is that things have been messed up so badly, or the powers that be want so much money, that no bid will be forthcoming. But you would think *someone* would be willing to pay a reasonable price. | twatcher
07/9/2017 10:43 | At this level any bid would have to see a minimum of 25%of closing price, so money to be made, just a waiting game. | blueteam
07/9/2017 10:39 | It was March 2016 Apple formally said they had enquired and now wouldn't bid for IMG so they could bid at any time now if they were interested. I doubt they are - after all, if they really REALLY won't be using or infringing on any IMG IP or confidential info then they have no need for the company as they already have their own unique GPU IP and have absolutely no need for MIPS or Ensigma. Their comments in July this year were simply saying they were unlikely to bid - ie nothing formal and no approaches made, so no lockout. They could still be up for that much vaunted, yet oddly elusive, "imminent" RT license though :-))) £500m is a number that many would be happy to accept now I think. Not ideal, but better than worst case scenarios. | hammerd2
06/9/2017 19:37 | It really should only be apple who should possibly be making a counter bid ,as they are excluded from making another bid inside a 12 month period after there initial approach , unless another bid materialised ,as the open offer for imagination lets any company bid, so there really shouldn't be any surprise counter offers other than Apples ,IMHO | tombelfast
06/9/2017 18:59 | I suspect that any Canyon offer will trigger a bid from a bigger player, such as Mediatek. At current prices, IMG looks cheap with a lot of valuable IP and the prospect of a deep pocketed buyer having the option of taking Apple to court, re the patent infringements. I hope that Apple are brought to book over their exploitative behaviour towards IMG, including the set up of their St Albans base which is clearly designed to poach staff from KL. Apple may dress causally, talk like hippies but they have acted like gangsters regarding IMG. Without Steve Jobs they have no new ideas and they may end up like Nokia, seemingly unassailable and then yesterday's news. It would serve them right. Even though I am out, good luck to Imagineers. | life of crime
06/9/2017 17:30 | Cfius can ask any potential bidder to divest its American subsidiaries if it deemed It nessassary. And really use any excuse it wants to justify its decision. They might let cayon bridges partners keep the American subsidiary of imagination technology if they bid, seeing that it didn't look likely that cfius decision will be overturned by trump over the lattice deal . If china keeps making hurdles to there own markets then the world should do the same to China. | tombelfast
06/9/2017 09:01 | In this 'political environment' with geopolitical tensions I can see no way Trump will go against his advisors at CFIUS. In which case The Lattice Semiconductor deal is dead for Canyon Bridge, saving it $1.3billion By now all the due diligence will have been done at IMG, Even a £2 bid for the entirety of IMG would leave Canyon Bridge with a far more dynamic and potentially exciting company and a LOT of change in their pockets. If they do bid for 'the job lot' I am guessing they would offer about 30% above the close price giving about 180p, would holders accept that? After my 'divorce' here, my punt at 137p was entirely speculative and based in its entirety on the prospects of a bid-they can have all mine for 180, but for those longtermers and 'mates' who held after Apples perfidy, I hope YIU guys get higher :-) We shall see Dave EDIT - whilst I have seen comments that CFIUS may have some say over a Canyon- IMG deal I dispute that, CFIUS is set up to deal with American owned companies- period , the notion that Trump or CFIUS could have any say in the takeover of a wholly based AND owned U.K. Company is proposterous regardless of whether we have some offices in the US | sweenoid
04/9/2017 15:39 | The shake before the surge ? Bloody hope so, this is starting to get a little tedious now. | hammerd2
04/9/2017 14:18 | Thanks H, ever hopeful of some action! THEYAK | theyak
04/9/2017 12:08 | Usual I think Yak. No idea why they needed to repeat the Total Voting Rights RNS - must be a takeover panel rule. | hammerd2
04/9/2017 11:27 | So is that 2.9 a sign of imminent action? or just a usual thing? THEYAK | theyak
04/9/2017 09:04 | No new news so no rns required | dealy
04/9/2017 09:00 | Re bids. There is currently nothing more than a single rumour about a single bidding company. And they have no need to issue an RNS unless there's a large, inexplicable movement in share price | hammerd2
04/9/2017 08:06 | They will have to do a RNS soon to state where they are at, expect in the next few days as the rumors have started. | blueteam
04/9/2017 08:01 | Yes going to be in demand as several bid for this. I bet Chinese have big pockets and bid this to the top. | blueteam
03/9/2017 21:25 | We could see this over 200p as bid fever enwraps it | opodio
03/9/2017 16:59 | The best news from IMG to retain majority UK shareholder ownership would be that Samsung have licenced a Furian XT 32 or 24 or 16 cluster design for their Galaxy 10 flagship phone for release in March 2019. Along with further confirmation that the XE mid range is commercially successful. That could make the share price move. Replacing Arm Mali and Qualcomm Adreno is where the high end mobile challenge resides and current known progress is distinctly lacking. | borromini1 |
