i must admit i got bored a few days back and sold. If its any consolation I sold at slight loss and bought something else that went down too. It was a lose lose situation. I'll give up trading for christmas. Need a breather.

I think any idea that today's action has anything top do with any tipster is nonsense. It is simply a fund taking a profit. Hopefully we all take a profit sometime. However, due to that I think the drop is way overdone. Read the RNS carefully, it is not a director selling , looks like, according to my timings a fundie selling after three years having consolidated EIS relief on a placing.

I have no idea what has happened here but I don't see Paul Scott behaving in the way you describe. I also find it impossible to believe he would be involved in insider trading which is what seems to be implied above.

I have never met Paul but would suggest you consider not making quite such serious allegations re his behaviour

If it's true.............from my understanding he had a spread bet at £10K/pt which is ridiculous on a small illiquid stock like this so i don't see that as relevant at all, that's not the kind of investment that could be considered sensible or long term. And it's unlikely he would've had any idea that the VC would be reducing their holding.

It's a very simple business model, for any tipster blog writer
buy small cap illiquid stocks
tip/promote them
your sheep and lemmings buy them
sell and take profits
let the sheep and lemmings know after the event
sheep and lemmings scramble to get out

very opaque if you ask me

columbarius it doesn't seem to me we've any idea of the Mawer and Leaver investment levels within the VC fund but no doubt there'll be some sale gain and some retention too.

I don't see Mawer or Leavers personal holding being affected at all.

It would no doubt be beneficial if Boundary capital would make a declaration to make this clear as it's clearly opaque but they're not compelled to do so.

imv i think their business model is very encouraging as it aligns the interest of the executive witthin the business, in this case Mawer, with that of the rest of the shareholders. He's got some decent skin the game.

I also researched it on the web site too and my reading of it fwiw is both Leaver and Mawer are personally invested to the levels in your post 5341.

Boundary capital/Reyker securities are also seperately invested as the VC fund also to the level in your previous post.

It's highly likely that both Mawer and Leaver are also invested in the VC fund itself.

clearly if they are then they'll benefit from this sale. What is disappointing is we've now a siginficant share hangover unless some of the shares were taken up by other institutions, which seems unlikely given the share price drop.

One of the negatives of investing in small co's where there's a VC or private equity invested. I suspect they want to take profits and look for further opportunities.

If you believe the business continues to have good growth opportunities, as i do, then you stay invested.

They've sold 3.66% and retained 3.9% so they've made a profit as the share price has risen 5 fold since they invested and are in for free now. Mawer and Leavers personal holding hasn't changed but how much they've had in the VC fund sale is unknown.

"Boundary Capital finds and appoints ‘VenturersR17; who both co-invest alongside Boundary and take an active role in the development to supercharge the development and reducing the risk and costs. The Venturer in Image Scan, also their Chairman and CEO, is Bill Mawer whose experience and energy has been instrumental in completely turning the fortunes of Image Scan around. Boundary Capital Partner Dr Richard Leaver is also a board director."

If anyone smarter than me can explain exactly who has sold then I look forward to being enlightened!

From their website.

Dr Leaver is a partner in Boundary Capital Partners LLP, which focuses on early stage unquoted technology investments. Richard joined the Board of Image Scan in April 2014.

Well gnmartin, you are right that is a big chunk of shares but what is more interesting is that Boundary capital via Reyker is closely linked to Bill Mawer although i do not know quite to what extent. If you read through the principal shareholder info on Image scans website it will be clearer. In many ways this would appear to be nothing to worry about (IMO) as such a close transaction could not be based on bad news just before the results are due.

That's a BIG chunk of shares changing hands. Presumably the news of Boundary capital selling just short of 5m shares is the trigger for the sudden fall of (at time of writing) over a 1.6p. Anyone know why that should spook people? Presumably we will find out that they sold at 9.75p or thereabout.

Off thread.
More on the iii portfolio. Although the immediate response I got from them read like a brush-off, the message did get through. I've had another email telling me they are aware of the problem, and working to fix it.
