Effect of operational gearing based on revised trading statement numbers

2016
revenue £3314806 ............................................growth 94%
gross margin 42% .............................................growth 11.5%
admin cost incld R&D £1376768 .......................growth 7%
operating profit £104782 ...................................growth over 600%
operating margin 3.16%
cash on the balance sheet £1054588 ...............growth 124%
retained earnings (£8450523)demonstrates the move to profitability

2017 from the TS
revenue £5000000 ...........................................growth 51%
admin based on 42% GM £1650000................growth 19%
operating profit £450000 .................................growth 328%
operating margin 9%.....................................growth 185%

despite the growth in revenue and operating profit the admin costs are stable and no different than before at the prior TS.

so it looks like this year for a 51% growth in revenue we'll have a 328% increase in operating profits. To put that in perpective the operating profit growth is over 6 times revenue growth.

A fantastic result

david it was a very useful and informative video. They seemed very open and honest and not afraid to discuss the business detail, positve and potentially negative too. It's a a shame we don't see more of this kind of event. As i noted already well done to all those involved.

I am pleased the video is getting lots of viewings and positive comments which shows it was very useful for management to spend time with investors and improve understanding of the company and its products.

IGE made it a priority to focus on developing and selling stuff that they have a fairly certain success rate in doing so, rather than competing in markets dominated by heavyweights with little chance of IGE competing against or producing huge ranges of equipment that had lower sales penetration and attendant margins. So far that strategy is paying off in part thanks to BW who has the necessary background experience to know what market sector - ie portable units - to address.

As they develop, I dont see why IGE wont expand into other niche achievable sales areas using versions of their current technology.

Clever software that can differentiate between materials isn't just something limited for finding bombs.

Also WRT electric cars, petrol and diesel will still be here for sometime yet, and, Xray quality inspection isn't an area limited to Catalyst production examination.

Xray inspection is a commonly used tool in production line manufacturing quality assurance programs.

No reason why, as IGE get their current business objectives established, that other companies and market sectors cannot be explored.

A good successful company is seldom static, the business model can be kept simple but nothing to stop it being leveraged and rolled out into new market opportunities.

IMO

Interestingly taking at face value the comments made in the presentaion regarding £9m revenue to generate £1m operating profit from the expected current year 2017 result that would equate to:

100% revenue growth
300% operating profit growth.

allowing for tax losses eps around 0.75p/share

owen happy for anyone to check thro' the figures. I've worked back for 2017 from the TS to ascertain the admin costs. i suspect there's a fair bit of R&D in this years figures which may not be repeated going forward but we'll see when they release the results
