A week old, but it hadn't been posted earlier...

On the 12th Investec raised their price from 43p to 47p and retained their buy stance here

AU. You wonder about all the highly paid advisors, banks and accountants on the deal. They should be the ones who are charged. Like this rogue trader at UBS, surely there were many highly paid people in compliance and management, but they never seem to be able to see anything but their next lunch, pint, porsche or lapdance.

Most of the day's gains held into the close suggests to me that the seller is FINALLY done!

M1das - agree re reliability - I've been holding since 2005, topped up in 2007 and again in 2011 - everytime I look at them I like what I see but it's only in last couple of years that they've got real traction going on earnings. Also I like the fact they're generating cash and paying increasing dividends. Lots more to come imho.

I love the reliability of IDOX management - they never seem to disappoint. This is the best performing share in my SIPP by some margin. Bought in at 16p in January 2011 so now showing a gain of over 160%. My only regret is taking profits on 1/3 of my holding back in July, albeit at 38p so can't complain too much. And as the saying goes, a profit is never a real profit until it's banked.

I wonder where IDOX will be in say 5 years time...main market listing perhaps? Knocking on the door of the FTSE 250 perhaps? Well it's always nice to dream :) For now I'm happy to hold and hold.

They also have a successful track record in buying small add-on businesses that quickly enhance earnings; with an experienced team and process for managing acquisitions and with a large pool of smallish targets still out there I expect further growth by acquisition as well as through increased customer demand.

Idox plc

Trading Update

Idox plc (AIM: IDOX, 'Idox' or 'the Group'), a leading independent supplier of software & services, is pleased to update shareholders on trading for the year ended 31 October 2012.

The Group's three key metrics being revenue, EBITDA and adjusted* pre-tax profit, are all expected to be comfortably ahead of consensus market expectations for the full year. Like-for-like organic growth has also been particularly encouraging in both the public sector and engineering software divisions which, together with our active acquisition programme, will deliver significant top line revenue growth for the year.

4 weeks to Results, How far ahead? Plus hopefully an optimistic outlook statement.

Great technical behaviour on the chart - backtest that previous resistance has now formed support. Hopefully onwards and upwards from here.

I never like to see good companies with good long term prospects taken over, especially when I hold the shares with a long term view !

I agree this now looking more and more like a take over target after BT's bid for Tikit.
