Let me just try and close this one by stating the following;

Over the years I have had hundreds of investments....I take this seriously and I like long term developing value rather than high risk punts such as oil, mining etc However just for the record I have had a good number of multi baggers and they nearly always get there because of excellent management carrying out a well structured plan. Many of those management were incentivised by LTIPs and they shared the benefits of serious wealth creation.

I have also had many companies that have failed to deliver due to poor management but they still took high salaries and sometimes clever disguised bonuses but certainly did not receive any benefit of share options as the price never got hit. So they did not gain big time but still looked after themselves !

At IDOX I am already three and a half times up on the value of my original investment. Management have earned the right to be fully incentivised from here

Which situation do you prefer ?

Fair enough davidosh. It is just that I dislike these type of awards - let them buy in like any other investor - they are well paid.

clocktower.....you cannot compare IDOX and CRU they are like chalk and cheese. In any event the CRU share price has gone nowhere in 18 months and no dividend so totally different to IDOX which investors should be extremely happy with.

Take a look at CRU - none of this sort of self reward above those of the small stakeholders.

kalkanite....just use the edit function on the right hand side of your posting number. I hope you are now able to move them higher up your rating from watchlist to actual investment ! It has worked very well for most of us so far and I am confident the right balance has been struck here

David,

Having read your reply I have now looked closer at the LTIP. I originally read the notice on my phone and mistakenly took it as a 15% reward for what was not a difficult target.

Having now read through the notice more closely on my lap top I agree that the incentives are indeed fair/reasonable.

Unfortunately I do not have the means to remove my post so will have to suffice with a humble retraction and yet another lesson learned in reading carefully before commenting ;-)

I agree, David. These, as far as I can tell, seem to have a reasonable balance between incentive and return for shareholders.

I do not have a problem with these options and if you include dividend payments to shareholders that effectively reduce share prices by the same amounts then the share price target in five years is closer to 65p which is a reasonable target from the current 38p.

Directors and key management need long term incentives or deals will be done with potential backers to incentivise management in different ways and an offer for the whole of IDOX at just 50p is not what I want !! For the directors to make good money on these they will want the share price well north of 55p and for those who bought in just two years ago when the price was 12p it is unfair to begrudge these long term benefits.

Anyway the objective criteria and share price target both have to be achieved or they receive nothing ! There are much worse schemes that should be targeted for criticism well before this one IMO.

I continue to hold and believe the directors are doing a good job for shareholders here.

Never happy with the salaries they receive, with which they could use to buy stock, they have to milk extra payoffs. When will they learn that they loose the respect of minor stakeholders because of thier greed in wanting a large share of the cake. If they want to be paid in share options they should take a huge cut in salary imo. They may think they will get a quick windfall if an offer for the company is made before long, so if you are of that view it could be a good investment I guess.

Those that do continue to hold good luck.

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has launched a pilot 'Map for England' website which allows users to view the main strategic planning issues affecting their areas. The pilot website, created in conjunction with software company Idox, contains an initial five layers of data on the map, which users can switch on and off to view the information which is of most interest to them.

If the share price moves over 10% especially after the recent movement then I suspect the LSE will be asking if there is any reason such as discussions with other parties re potential bid or takeover. Nice to see a rebound anyway
